(Ba$_{0.5}$Pb$_{0.5}$)Nd$_2$Ti$_5$O$_14$ 마이크로파 유전체의 저온소결과 마이크로파 특성 (Low-temperature Sintering and Microwave Properties in (Ba$_{0.5}$Pb$_{0.5}$)Nd$_2$Ti$_5$O$_14$ Ceramics)

  • $(Ba_{0.5}Pb_{0.5})Nd_2Ti_5O_{14}$(마이크로파 유전체 세라믹스에 borosilicate계 유리를 첨가하여 저온소결 특성과 마이크로파 특성을 조사하였다. Borosilicate계 유리가 2~3 wt% 첨가된 경우 $950^{\circ}C$의 소결 온도에서 소결성이 향상됨과 동시에 품질계수도 놀아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. BPNT에 3 wt%의 유리를 첨가함으로써 $950^{\circ}C$에서 유전율은 90에서 75 정도로 약간의 감소를 보였으나 마이크로파 품질계수 (Q$\times$f)는 4500 정도로 잘 유지되었고 공진주파수의 온도계수도 +10 $ppm/^{\circ}C$로서 잘 유지되는 결과를 나타내었다.

태양풍 매개변수를 이용한 Dst 예측 (Dst Prediction Based on Solar Wind Parameters)

  • ACE 위성에서 제공되는 1998년에서 2006년까지 9년간 관측된 양질의 1시간 평균 태양풍 매개변수를 이용하여 Burton et al.(1975)의 Dst 예측식을 재검토했다. 이 기간 동안 60개의 단순 발달형 자기폭풍을 골랐다. Burton et al.(1975)의 Dst 예측식의 에너지 공급항(Q)과 소멸 시간 ($\tau$)을 추정하기 위해 상기 자기폭풍 기간 동안 $Dst^*$$VS_s$, ${\Delta}Dst^*$$VS_s$ 그리고 ${\Delta}Dst^*$$Dst^*$의 상관관계를 구했다. 이 때 ACE 위성으로부터 지구까지 전파 시간(1시간)과 태양풍과 지구 자기권 사이의 지연 시간(0.5시간) 고려했다. 그 결과 $VB_s$ > 0.5mV/m일 때 $Q(nT/h)=-3.56VB_s$이였고, $VB_s\;{\leq}\;0.5mV/m$일 때는 Q(nT/h)=0으로 두었다(Burton et al., 1975) 그리고 $Dst^*$가 -175nT보다 작은 음의 값을 가질 때 $\tau(h)\;=\;0.060Dst^*\;+\;16.65$이고, $Dst^*$가 -175nT보다 큰 음의 값을 가질 때 $\tau(h)\;=\;6.15$로 추정됐다. 이 연구에서 얻은 Q와 $\tau$를 Burton et al.(1975)의 Dst 예측식에 대입하고 이를 이용하여 상기 60개 자기폭풍을 예측한 결과, 관측된 $Dst^*$와 예측된 $Dst^*$의 상관계수는 0.88이였다. 이를 다른 연구 결과와 비교하기 위해 Burton et al.(1975)과 O'Brien & McPherron(2000a)의 $Dst^*$ 예측 방법을 같은 자기폭풍에 적용한 결과, 관측된 $Dst^*$와 예측된 $Dst^*$의 상관계수는 각각 0.85였다. 이 연구는 기존 연구보다 다소 개선된 결과를 나타냈으며, 특히 $Dst^*\;{< \atop \sim}\;-200nT$의 강한 자기폭풍의 예측에 효과적이었다.

An Analytic Study on Laminar Film Condensation along the Interior Surface of a Cave-Shaped Cavity of a Flat Plate Heat Pipe

  • An analytic approach has been employed to study condensate film thickness distribution inside cave-shaped cavity of a flat plate heat pipe. The results indicate that the condensate film thickness largely depends on mass flow rate and local velocity of condensate. The increasing rate of condensate film for circular region reveals about 50% higher value than that of vertical region. The physical properties of working fluid affect significantly the condensate film thickness, such as the condensate film thickness for the case of FC-40 are 5 times larger than that of water. In comparison with condensation on a vertical wall, the average heat transfer coefficient in the cave-shaped cavity presented 10∼15% lower values due to the fact that the average film thickness formed inside the cave-shaped cavity was larger than that of the vertical wall with an equivalent flow length. A correlation formula which is based on the condensate film analysis for the cave-shaped cavity to predict average heat transfer coefficient is presented. Also, the critical minimum fill charge ratio of working fluid based on condensate film analysis has been predicted, and the minimum fill charge ratios for FC-40 and water are about Ψ$\_$crit/=3∼7%, Ψ$\_$crit/=0.5∼1.3% respectively, in the range of heat flux q"=5∼90kW/㎡.

NOAA 수온영상 재처리 기법에 관한 연구 (Study on the Retreatment Techniques for NOAA Sea Surface Temperature Imagery)

  • 본 연구에서는 동북아시아 NOAA AVHRR 위성관측 16년간(1990-2005) 해양표면 수온영상을 이용하여 에러 값 제거와 결측 자료 보완을 위하여 마르코프 계수를 결정하였고, 이 값에서 현재 수온평년 값을 더하여 구름 없는 해양표면수온 생성 기법을 제시하였다. 마르코프 연쇄 모델의 결과에 의하면, 마르코프 계수는 해류가 강한 쿠로시오 해역 등이 해류가 약한 동해 북서부의 대부분 해역과 동중국해보다 그 계수가 상대적으로 낮게 나타났다. 평균 수온의 변동은 봄과 가을이 겨울과 여름에 비하여 분산이 크게 나타났고, 계절별 일간 수온 차이도 수온의 계절적 변동이 큰 봄과 가을이 여름과 겨울에 비하여 큰 지역적인 차이를 보였다. 그 지역적인 분포는 봄과 가을의 경우 전 해역의 대륙 인접부에서 대부분 크게 나타났고, 동해 극전선 남부해역과 쿠로시오해역에서는 난류에 의한 열수송으로 일간 수온의 차이가 작았다.

한국 동해 생태계의 어획강도 변화에 따른 자원량 예측 연구 (A study on the forecasting biomass according to the changes in fishing intensity in the Korean waters of the East Sea)

  • Overfishing capacity has become a global issue due to over-exploitation of fisheries resources, which result from excessive fishing intensity since the 1980s. In the case of Korea, the fishing effort has been quantified and used as an quantified index of fishing intensity. Fisheries resources of coastal fisheries in the Korean waters of the East Sea tend to decrease productivity due to deterioration in the quality of ecosystem, which result from the excessive overfishing activities according to the development of fishing gear and engine performance of vessels. In order to manage sustainable and reasonable fisheries resources, it is important to understand the fluctuation of biomass and predict the future biomass. Therefore, in this study, we forecasted biomass in the Korean waters of the East Sea for the next two decades (2017~2036) according to the changes in fishing intensity using four fishing effort scenarios; $f_{current}$, $f_{PY}$, $0.5{\times}f_{current}$ and $1.5{\times}f_{current}$. For forecasting biomass in the Korean waters of the East Sea, parameters such as exploitable carrying capacity (ECC), intrinsic rate of natural increase (r) and catchability (q) estimated by maximum entropy (ME) model was utilized and logistic function was used. In addition, coefficient of variation (CV) by the Jackknife re-sampling method was used for estimation of coefficient of variation about exploitable carrying capacity ($CV_{ECC}$). As a result, future biomass can be fluctuated below the $B_{PY}$ level when the current level of fishing effort in 2016 maintains. The results of this study are expected to be utilized as useful data to suggest direction of establishment of fisheries resources management plan for sustainable use of fisheries resources in the future.

메타 구조 Broadside Coupled 나선형 공진기를 이용한 저위상 잡음 전압 제어 발진기 (Low Phase Noise VCO Using the Metamaterial Broadside Coupled Spiral Resonator)

  • 본 논문에서는 메타 구조 Broadside Coupled 나선형 공진기(BC-DSRs)를 이용하여 전압 제어 발진기의 위상 잡음 특성을 줄이기 위한 새로운 구조를 제안하였다. 이러한 특성 실현을 위하여 연속된 나선형 구조를 신호면과 그라운드 면에 각각 적용하였다. 일반적인 전압 제어 발진기와 비교하였을 때, 본 논문에서 제안한 VCO는 더 큰 결합 계수를 가지며, 이로 인하여 얻을 수 있는 더 높은 Q값을 통하여 전압 제어 발진기의 위상 잡음을 줄일 수 있다. 1.8 V의 공급 전력을 갖는 전압 제어 발진기는 주파수 조절 범위, $5.749{\sim}5.853\;GHz$에서 $-121{\sim}-117.16\;dBc$/Hz @ 100 kHz의 위상 잡음 특성을 갖는다. 또한 전압 제어 발진기의 Figure Of Merit(FOM)은 동일한 주파수 조절 범위에서 $-198.45{\sim}-194.77\;dBc$/Hz @ 100 kHz의 특성을 보였다.

석유 팬 히터의 연소실 주변 열전달 특성 (Heat transfer characteristics around a circular combustion chamber of kerosene fan heater)

  • This paper was studied to understand the characteristics of heat transfer coefficients and surface temperature distributions around a circular combustion chamber within the heat-intercept duct of kerosene fan heater. The experiment was carried out in the heat-intercept duct of kerosene fan heater attached to the blow-down-type subsonic wind tunnel with a test section of 240 mm * 240 mm * 1200 mm. The purpose of this paper was to obtain the basic data related with normal combustion for new design from conventional kerosene fan heater, and to investigate the effect of surface temperature, local and mean heat transfer coefficients versus flow-rate of convection axial fan according to the variations of heat release conditions from kerosene fan heater during normal combustion. Consequently it was found that (i) the revolution of convection axial fan during combustion had a smaller value than that of non-combustion because of the thermal resistance due to the high temperature in the heat-intercept duct, (ii) the pressure ratio P$_{2}$/P$_{1}$ had a comparatively constant value of 0.844 according to the revolution increase of turbo fan and the heating performance of kerosene fan heater had a range of 1,494 ~ 3,852 kcal/hr, (iii) the local heat transfer coefficient around a circular combustion chamber had a comparatively larger scale in the range of 315 deg. < .theta. < 45 deg. than that in the range of 90 deg. < .theta. < 270 deg. as a result of heat transfer difference between front and back of a circular combustion chamber, and (iv) the mean heat transfer coefficient around a circular combustion chamber increased linearly like a H$_{m}$=95.196Q+104.019 in condition of high heat release according to the increase of flow-rate of axial fan.n.

  • The microwave dielectric properties and their related structural characteristics in solid solutions of (1-$\chi$) Ba($Mg_{1/3}$Nb$_{2/3}$) $O_3$-$\chi$La(Mg$_{2/3}$Nb$_{1}$3) $O_3$(BLMN) have been investigated by measuring the dielectric constant($\varepsilon$r), Q value and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$f) and by observing the crystal structure using high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Microwave dielectric properties showed characteristic features for specific composition. Dielectric constant($\varepsilon$$_{r}$) showed maximum value at the composition which corresponds to the phase boundary between 1 : 2 ordered and 1 : 1 ordered structure. The increase in $\varepsilon$$_{r}$ may be caused by the rattling of ions by incorporating smaller ions and the disordered structure. The variation of temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$$_{f}$) was investigated in terms of oxygen octahedra tilting.dra tilting.

  • The microwave dielectric properties and the microstructures on $Bi_{0.97}Nb_{0.03}O_{4}$doped with $V_{2}O_{5}$ were systematically investigated. $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}Nb_{0.03}O_{4}$ ceramics sintered at $920-960^{\circ}C$were mainly consisted of orthorhombic and triclinic phases after addition of $V_{2}O_{5}$. The apparent density increased slightly with increasing the $V_{2}O_{5}$ addition. The dielectric $constants(\varepsilon_r)$ also increased with $V_{2}O_{5}$ addition(30-45). The $Q{\times}f_0$ values measured on $Bi_{0.97}Tm_{0.03}NbO_4$ ceramics doped with $V_{2}O_{5}$ were between 2,000 and 12,000[GHz] when the sintering temperatures are in the range of $920-960[^{\circ}C]$. It was confirmed the temperature coefficient of the resonant $frequency(\tau_f)$ can be adjusted from a positive value of $+10[ppm/^{\circ}C]$ to a negative value of $-15ppm/^{\circ}C$ by increasing the amount of $V_{2}O_{5}$. Based on our experimental results, the Bi0.97Tm0.03NbO4(added V2O5) ceramics can be applied to multilayer microwave devices at low sintering temperatures.

낮은 경사각을 갖는 밀폐형 2상 열사이폰의 열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Heat Transfer Characteristics of a Closed Two-Phase Thermosyphon with a Low Tilt Angle)

  • In lots of application to heat exchanger systems, closed two-phase thermosyphons are tilted from a horizontal. If the tilt angle, especially, is less than 30$^{\circ}$, the operational performances of thermosyphon are highly dependent on tilt angle. The present study was conducted to better understand such operational behaviors as mech-anni는 of phase change, and flow patterns inside a tilted thermosyphon. For experiment, an ethanol thermosyphon with a 35% of fill charge rate was designed and manufactured, using a copper tube with a diameter 19mm and a length 1500mm. Through a series of test, the tilt angle was kept constant at each of 4 different values in the range 10~25deg. and the heat supply to the evaporator was stepwisely increased up to 30㎾/$m^2$. When a steady state was established to the thermosyphon for each step of thermal loads, the wall temperature distribution and vapor temperature at the condenser were measured. The wall temperature distributions demonstrated a formation of dry patch in the top end zone of the evaporator, with a values of temperature 20~4$0^{\circ}C$ higher than the wetted surface for a moderate heat flux q≒20㎾/$m^2$. Inspite of the presence of hot dry patch, however, the mean values of boiling heat transfer coefficient at the evaporator wall were still in a good agreement with those predicted by Rohsenow's formula, which was based on nucleate boiling. For the condenser, the wall temperatures were practically uniform, and the measured values of condensation heat transfer coefficient were 1.7 times higher than the predicted values obtained from Nusselt's film condensation theory on tilted plate. Using those two expressions, a correlation was formulated as a function of heat flux and tilt angle, to determine the total thermal resistance of a tilted thermosyphon. The correlation formula showed a good agreement with the experimental data within 20%.
