  • $xPb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3 - (1 - x)Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ powders were synthesized by the molten salt synthesis method using the NaC!- KCI flux with 1 : 1 molar ratio, and their powders and dielectric properties were investigated. The synthesized powders showed less agglomerated shape with the average particle size of less than $2 \mu\textrm{m}$. The composition $x0.3Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-0.7Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ could be sintered at $1000{\times}C$ and its dielectric constnat was over 11, 000.

  • Stabilization of the perovskite phase and sequence of reactions occuring during calcination were studied with solid solutions formed between Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3 and Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3. In the PZN-PFN composition of equal molar ratio, rhombohedral type pyrochlore phase (Pb2Nb2O7) and PbO-rich distorted cubic type pyrochlore phase (Pb3Nb2O8) were coexisted as intermediate phases at temperatures below 85$0^{\circ}C$, and these phases transformed to a stable cubic type pyrochlore phase, Pb3Nb4O13 solid solution and a perovskite solid solution at temperatures above 85$0^{\circ}C$. The major stable phase as increasing sintering temperatures was a perovskite phase in this binary system and prominent suppression of the pyrochlore phase was achieved by substituting Zn2+ with Fe3+ or by increasing sintering temperature. The composition containing 20mol% PZN possessed the best dielectric properties, and the dissipation factor was lower than 5% in all compositions.

Dielectric Properties and Ordering Structures of Pb(Fe1/2Ta1/2)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 Solid Solutions (Pb(Fe1/2Ta1/2)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 고용체의 유전특성 및 질서배열구조)

  • The Single phase $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ (x=0.0∼1.0) solid solutions were successfully synthesized and their ordering structures as well as dielectric properties were investigated ${{r(Nb^{5+})=r(Ta^{5+})=0.78 {\AA},\;AW(Nb^{5+})=92.91,\;AW(Ta^{5+})=180.95}}$. While $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ showed typical relaxor ferroelectric characteristics such as dielectric relaxation and diffuse phase transition, the sharpeness of the phase transition increased as $Ta^{5+}$ was replaced by $Nb^{5+}$ and finally $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ showed normal ferroelectric characteristics with no dielectric relaxation. By using Raman spectroscopy, it was revealed that the $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Ta^{5+}\;of\;Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ were stoichiometrically 1:1 ordered within the short range which can be hardly probed even by TEM. Also, The degree of ordering in $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ decreased as $Ta^{5+}$ was replaced by $Nb^{5+}$ and finally $Fe^{3+}\;and\;Nb^{5+}\;of\;Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ were completely disordered. The relaxor ferroelectric characteristics of $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Ta_{1/2})O_3$ could be correlated with the stoichiometric 1:1 ordering of B-site cations within the short range which can be hardly probed even by TEM. Also, the decrease of the relaxor ferroelectric characteristics with the replacement of $Ta^{5+}\;by\;Nb^{5+}$ could be correlated with the weakening of the ordering and the normal ferroelectric characteristics of $Pb(Fe_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3$ could be correlated with the complete disordering of B-site cations.

  • Pyroelectric properties, figure of merits, and the other properties of the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 system, as expected to have excellent pyroelectric properties in the operating temperature range of pyroelectric type infrared sensor, were investigated. In the Pb(Zn1/3Nb2/3)O3-Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 system, suppression of the pyrochlore phase depended on sintering condition, as like sintering temperature, holding time, sintering atmosphere. The specimen, sintered by the same composition atmosphere powder at 105$0^{\circ}C$ for 1.5h, possessed the best physical property. It was found that the piezoelectric parameters were mainly depended on the amount of spontaneous polarization and then the 0.2PZN-0.8PFN showed the best pyro- and piezoelectric properties. In terms of the experimental method, two pyroelectric-testing methods, i.e. static and dynamic methods, had a same tendency. Also the result of pyroelectric testing by the static method indicated that the diffuse phase transitiion resulted in the temperature difference of phase transition between dielectric constant and pyroelectric coefficient.

  • Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3 and (1-x)Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3-xPbTiO3 ceramics were prepared by the precalcination method. Their structural and dielectric properties were investigated. The amount of perovsikte phase was increased by the precalcination and the dielectric properties of ceramics were improved. Additions of PbTiO3 were found to increase the tetragonality (c/a) of crystal lattice and Tc. In the middle region of (1-x)Pb(Fe1/2Nb1/2)O3-xPbTiO3, duffuse phase transitions (DPT) were observed.

  • 본 연구에서는 0.45Pb(Fe$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_{3}$- (0.55-xPb(Fe$_{2}$3/W$_{1}$3/)O$_{3}$ (x=0.20, 0.25, 0.30) 세라믹을 950~990[.deg.C]에서 2시간 유지시켜 일반소성법으로 제작하였다. 제작된 시편에 대해 적층 세라믹 캐패시터로의 응용가능성을 고찰하기 위해 조성비와 소결온도에 따른 구조적, 유전적 특성을 조사하였다. PMN의 첨가량이 증가할수록 결정립 크기는 감소하였으며 상전이 온도는 증가하였다. 소결밀도는 970[.deg.C]에서 소결된 0.45PFN-0.30PFW-0.25PMN 시편에서 7.86[g/cm$_{3}$]의 최대값을 나타내었다. 유전상수는 990[.deg.C]에서 소결된 0.45PFN-0.25PFW-0.30PMN 시편에서 20,751의 최대값을 나타내었으며 유전손실은 모든 조성에서 5[%]이상을 나타내었다.

  • In general, Pb-based complex perovskite powders have not been directly prepared because pyrochlore that is secondary phase appears. In this study, we tried to prepare Pb(Fe$_{1}$2/Nb$_{1}$2/)O$_3$ which was used to the electronic multicomponent by supercitical fluid method in order to fabricate very active powder not through pyrochlore.

  • PSN-PT 2성분계 압전세라믹스의 상도로부터 유전적, 압전적 특성이 양호한 MPB (Morphotropic phase boundary)부근의 조성을 선택하여 도너 도펀트인 $Nb_2O_5$와 억셉터 도펀트인 $Fe_2O_3$를 각각 $0{\sim}9wt%$ 첨가하여 유전특성을 비교, 연구해보았다 시편모두 $1250^{\circ}C$이상에서 이론밀도의 96%이상의 값을 얻을 수 있었고 상온, 1kHz에서 $Fe_2O_3$의 경우 0.1wt% 첨가된 시편에서 ${\varepsilon}_r=2054$의 최대 비유전율이 나타났으며, 0.7wt% 첨가된 시편에서는 $tan{\delta}$=0.49%의 최소 유전 손실값을 얻었다. 도펀트가 첨가됨에 따라 ${\varepsilon}_r$는 점점 감소하는 경향을 보였으며 큐리온도 Tc는 $Fe_2O_3$의 경우에서 더 큰 값이 나타났다. $Nb_2O_5$의 경우 도펀트의 증가에 따라 완만한 Relaxor의 형태로 나타났다.
