This study examined the crystallographic and magnetic properties of vanadium-substituted lithium cobalt titanium ferrite, $Li_{0.7}Co_{0.2}Ti_{0.2}V_{0.2}Fe_{1.7}O_4$. Ferrite was synthesized using a conventional ceramic method. The samples annealed below $1040^{\circ}C$ showed X-ray diffraction peaks for spinel and other phases. However, the sample annealed above $1040^{\circ}C$ showed a single spinel phase. The lattice constant of the sample was $8.351\;{\AA}$, which was relatively unaffected by vanadium-substitution. The average grain size after vanadium-substitution was $13.90\;{\mu}m$, as determined by scanning electron microscopy. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum could be fitted to two Zeeman sextets, which is the typical spinel ferrite spectra of $Fe^{3+}$ with A and B sites, and one doublet. From the absorption area ratio of the M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum, the cation distribution was found to be ($Co_{0.2}V_{0.2}Fe_{0.6})[Li_{0.7}Ti_{0.2}Fe_{1.1}]O_4$. Vibrating sample magnetometry revealed a saturation magnetization and coercivity of 36.9 emu/g and 88.6 Oe, respectively, which were decreased by vanadium-substitution.

Nickel substituted manganese ferrites, $Mn_{1-x}Ni_xFe_2O_4$ ($0.0{\leq}x{\leq}0.6$), were fabricated by sol-gel method. The effects of sintering and substitution on their crystallographic and magnetic properties were studied. X-ray diffractometry of $Mn_{0.6}Ni_{0.4}Fe_2O_4$ ferrite sintered above 523 K indicated a spinel structure; particles increased in size with hotter sintering. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum of this ferrite sintered at 523 K could be fitted as a single quadrupole doublet, indicative of a superparamagnetic phase. Sintering at 573 K led to spectrum fitted as the superposition of two Zeeman sextets and a single quadrupole doublet, indicating both ferrimagnetic and paramagnetic phase. Sintering at 673 K and at 773 K led to spectra fitted as two Zeeman sextets due to a ferrimagnetic phase. The saturation magnetization and the coercivity of $Mn_{0.6}Ni_{0.4}Fe_2O_4$ ferrite sintered at 773 K were 53.05 emu/g and 142.08 Oe. In $Mn_{1-x}Ni_xFe_2O_4$ ($0.0{\leq}x{\leq}0.6$) ferrites, sintering of any composition at 773 K led to a single spinel structure. Increased Ni substitution decreased the ferrites' lattice constants and increased their particle sizes. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectra could be fitted as the superposition of two Zeeman sextets due to the tetrahedral and the octahedral sites of the $Fe^{3+}$ ions. The variations of saturation magnetization and coercivity with changing Ni content could be explained using the changes of particle size.

$Mn_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ powders have been fabricated by using sol-gel methods; their crystallographic and magnetic properties were investigated by using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectroscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometer. The $Mn_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ ferrite powders annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ had a single spinel structure regardless of the $Mn^{2+}$-doping amount and their lattice constants became larger as the $Mn^{2+}$ concentration was increased. Their Mossbauer spectra measured at room temperature were fitted with 2 Zeeman sextets due to the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of Fe ions, which made them ferrimagnetic. The magnetic behavior of $Mn_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ powders showed that the $Mn^{2+}$-doping amount made their saturation magnetization increase, but there were no severe effects on their coercivities. The saturation magnetization of the $Mn_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ powder varied from 38 emu/g to 70.0 emu/g and their minimum coercivity was 111.1 Oe.
Purpose: This study is not a fragmentary study on characteristics of respiratory synergist when breathing, however it was intended to determine the effect of currently available respiratory exercise and to provide basic clinical information through investigation of oxygen demand and respiratory synergist that mobilizes for respiration during application of respiratory exercise. Methods: Experimental group I was selected from second grade of severity classification of GOLD, which has the highest percentage among patients with COPD, and experimental group II was selected from third grade of severity classification as a clinical sampling. After respiration pursing up lips and diaphragm respiration exercise were mediated together for six weeks, activity of respiratory muscles and oxygen saturation were measured and analyzed. Results: In comparison of change of respiratory synergist and oxygen saturation, activity of respiratory synergist in sternocleidomastoid muscle and scalene muscle showed a meaningful decrease in experimental group I. And, in comparison of change of respiratory synergist and oxygen saturation, activity of respiratory synergist in rectus abdominis muscle showed a meaningful increase in experimental group II. In comparison of change of respiratory synergist and oxygen saturation, activity of respiratory synergist in sternocleidomastoid muscle, scalene muscle, and rectus abdominis muscle showed a meaningful difference between experimental groups. Conclusion: Respiratory synergists work mainly as agonist of chest and upper limbs. Therefore it is very important to lower mobilization of respiratory synergist when breathing. It is considered that a multilateral approach and continued clinical research for improvement of respiratory function for patients with COPD will be needed in the future.

Objective: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is characterized by progressive airflow obstruction that is only partly reversible, inflammation in the airways, and systemic effects. This study aimed to investigate the association between low peripheral oxygen saturation levels (SpO2), and composite indices predicting death in male patients with (COPD). Method: A total of 140 participants with post-bronchodilator FEV1/FVC ratio less than 0.7 were included. Three composite indices (ADO, DOSE, BODEx) were calculated using six variables such as age (A), airflow obstruction (O), body mass index (B), dyspnea (D), exacerbation history (E or Ex), and smoking status (S). Severity of airflow limitation was classified according to Global Initiative for Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guidelines. SpO2 was measured by pulse oximetry, and anemia and iron deficiency were assessed based on blood hemoglobin levels and serum markers such as ferritin, transferrin saturation, or soluble transferrin receptor. Results: Participants with low SpO2 (<95%) showed significantly lower levels of %FEV1 predicted (p=0.020) and %FEV1/FVC ratio (p=0.002) compared to those with normal SpO2 levels. The mMRC dyspnea scale (p<0.001) and GOLD grade (p=0.002) showed a significant increase in the low SpO2 group. Receiver Operating Characteristic analysis revealed higher area under the curve for %FEV1 (p=0.020), %FEV1/FVC(p=0.002), mMRC dyspnea scale (p=0.001), GOLD grade (p=0.010), ADO (p=0.004), DOSE (p=0.002), and BODEx (p=0.011) in the low SpO2 group. Conclusion: These results suggest that low SpO2 levels are related to increased airflow limitation and the composite indices of COPD.
The effects of manganese substitution on the crystallographic and magnetic properties of Li-Zn-Cu ferrite, $Li_{0.5}Zn_{0.2}Cu_{0.4}Mn_xFe_{2.1-x}O_4$ ($0.0{\leq}x{\leq}0.8$), were investigated. Ferrites were synthesized via a conventional ceramic method. We confirmed the formation of crystallized particles using X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy and $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectroscopy. All of the samples showed a single phase with a spinel structure, and the lattice constants linearly decreased as the substituted manganese content increased, and the particle size of the samples also somewhat decreased as the doped manganese content increased. All the $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra can be fitted with two Zeeman sextets, which are the typical spinel ferrite spectra of $Fe^{3+}$ with A- and B-sites, and one doublet. The cation distribution was determined from the variation of the $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ parameters and of the absorption area ratio. The magnetic behavior of the samples showed that an increase in manganese content led to a decrease in the saturation magnetization, whereas the coercivity was nearly constant throughout. The maximum saturation magnetization was 73.35 emu/g at x = 0.0 in $Li_{0.5}Zn_{0.2}Cu_{0.4}Mn_xFe_{2.1-x}O_4$.

Objectives: This systematic review aimed to identify mean oxygen saturation values (SpO2) using pulse oximetry in permanent maxillary anterior teeth. Materials and Methods: The MEDLINE, Scientific Electronic Library Online, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, EMBASE, and Literatura Latino Americana em Ciências da Saúde electronic databases were searched. Combinations and variations of "oximetry" AND "dental pulp test" were used as search terms. Studies reporting means and standard deviations of SpO2 values were included. Two reviewers independently extracted data following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses checklist. Heterogeneity was assessed using the I2 statistic, and all analyses were performed using R software. Study quality was assessed using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 tool and the Newcastle-Ottawa scale. Results: Of the 251 studies identified, 19 met the eligibility criteria and were included (total sample, 4,541 teeth). In the meta-analysis, the mean SpO2 values were 84.94% (95% confidence interval [CI], 84.85%-85.04%) for the central incisors, 89.29% (95% CI, 89.22%-89.35%) for the lateral incisors, and 89.20% (95% CI, 89.05%-89.34%) for the canines. The studies were predominantly low-quality due to the high risk of bias associated with the index test, unclear risk regarding patient selection, and concerns about outcome assessment. Conclusions: Although most studies were low-quality, the oxygen saturation levels in normal pulp could be established (minimum saturation, 77.52%). Despite the risk of bias of the included studies, the reference values reported herein are clinically relevant for assessments of changes in pulp status.
The manganese-, nickel-, and aluminum-doped cobalt ferrite powders, $Mn_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$, $Ni_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$, and $Al_{0.2}CoFe_{1.8}O_4$, are fabricated by the sol-gel method, and the crystallographic and magnetic properties of the powders are studied in comparison with those of $CoFe_2O_4$. All the ferrite powders are nano-sized and have a single spinel structure with the lattice constant increasing in $Mn_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$ but decreasing in $Ni_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$ and $Al_{0.2}CoFe_{1.8}O_4$. All the $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ spectra are fitted as a superposition of two Zeeman sextets due to the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the $Fe^{3+}$ ions. The values of the magnetic hyperfine fields of $Ni_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$ are somewhat increased in the A and B sites, while those of $Mn_{0.2}Co_{0.8}Fe_2O_4$ and $Al_{0.2}CoFe_{1.8}O_4$ are decreased. The variation of $M{\ddot{o}}ssbauer$ parameters is explained using the cation distribution equation, superexchange interaction and particle size. The hysteresis curves of the ferrite powders reveal a typical soft ferrite pattern. The variation in the values of saturation magnetization and coercivity are explained in terms of the site distributions, particle sizes and the spin magnetic moments of the doped ions.
Background Pedicled perforator flaps can present postoperative complications similar to those encountered in free flap surgery. Beyond a clinical evaluation, there is still no reliable technical aid for the early prediction of vascular issues. The aim of this study was to assess the support of near-infrared spectroscopy technology as an intraoperative tool to anticipate postsurgical flap ischemia. Methods We prospectively enrolled 13 consecutive patients who were referred to our hospital from March 2017 to July 2018 and required a reconstructive procedure with a pedicled fasciocutaneous perforator flap. We measured flap peripheral capillary oxygen saturation (SpO2) in each patient with a Somanetics INVOS 5100C Cerebral/Somatic Oximeter (Medtronic), both before and after transposition. Patient demographics, operative data, and complications were then recorded during the following 6 months. We analyzed the data using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and linear regression. Results The mean flap SpO2 before and after transposition was 92%±3% and 78%±19%, respectively. The mean change in SpO2 was 14%±17%, with a range of 0% to 55%. The change in saturation and mean saturation ratio were significantly different between patients with and without postoperative flap necrosis. Conclusions An immediate quantitative analysis of flap peripheral capillary SpO2 after transposition has never before been described. In our experience, an intraoperative drop in SpO2 equal to or greater than 15%-20% predicted vascular complications in pedicled perforator flaps. Conversely, flap size and rotation angle were not correlated with the risk of flap necrosis.
