Dielectric and Piezoelectric Properties of $MnO_2$-Added 0.4P$(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-xPbTiO_3-yPbZrO_3$ Ceramics with Variation of PZ/PT Ratio ($MnO_2$ 가 첨가된 0.4P$(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-xPbTiO_3-yPbZrO_3$ 세라믹스에서의 PZ/PT비 변화에 따른 유전 및 압전 특성)

  • 본 연구에서는 초음파 센서에 응용 가능한 $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$ 세라믹스에 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비를 0.37에서 0.41로 변화시킨 조성을 1175 $\sim$ 1200$^{\circ}C$ 온도에서 소결하여 이의 결정구조 및 미세조직을 분석하였고, 압전, 유전 특성을 고찰하였다. 본조성에서 x=0.385 조성에서 최대 유전상수 값 3490 이 나타났으며, 그 이상의 첨가에서는 감소하였다. 상경계 영역인 x=0.385 조성에서 $\varepsilon$r, $K_p$, $d_{33}$ 값이 최대값을 나타내었다. $0.4Pb(Ni_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3-0.6Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3+0.5Wt%$ $MnO_2$, 세라믹스에서는 kp 와 $d_{33}$ 는 Zr/(Ti+Zr)비 0.385조성까지 증가하였다가 그 이상 조성에서 감소하였다. $1175^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 소결한 x=0.385조성에서 $\varepsilon$r=3490, kp=0.71, Qm=476의 우수한 압전 특성을 나타내었다.

  • [ $MnO_2$ ]가 첨가된 $0.9Pb(Zr_{0.5}Ti_{0.5})O_3-0.2Pb[(Zn_{0.8}Ni_{0.2})_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}]O_3$(0.8PZT-0.2PZNN) 세라믹스는 그 압전특성과 유전특성이 뛰어나지만 $1000^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 소결 온도에서는 소결되지 않는다. $1000^{\circ}C$이하의 낮은 소결온도에서 소결하기 위해 CuO를 첨가한 결과, 소결온도 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결성은 우수하였으나 그 압전 특성의 저하가 두드러졌다. 이는 XRD에서 확인한 결과에 따르면 CuO의 첨가가 우수한 MPB 조성으로 판명된 $MnO_2$ 가 첨가된 0.8PZT-0.2PZNN 세라믹스의 결정구조를 Rhombohedral 구조로 바꾸기 때문인 것으로 보였으며 이러한 문제는 PZNN의 비율을 조절하여 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스를 선택함으로 인해 해결할 수 있었다. 그러나 여전히 낮은 $Q_m$값을 높이기 위해서 $Al_2O_3$를 첨가하였고 그 결과 시편의 tetragonality 감소와 $Q_m$값의 증가를 확인할 수 있었으나 그 첨가량이 0.2wt% 이상일 경우에는 밀도의 감소로 인한 압전특성의 저하가 나타났다. 밀도의 향상을 위해 Zn and Ni excess 조성을 선택하였고 그 결과 0.5wt% $MnO_2$와 0.2wt% CuO 그리고 0.3wt% $Al_2O_3$를 첨가한 0.875PZT-0.125PZNN 세라믹스(Zn and Ni excess 조성)를 $920^{\circ}C$에서 소결한 경우 $k_p=0.581,\;Q_m=809,\;d_{33}=345\;pC/N\;and\;{\varepsilon}_{33}/{\varepsilon}_0=1345$의 빼어난 압전 및 유전특성과 $330^{\circ}C$의 높은 $T_c$를 보였고 그 조성의 vibration velocity는 약4.5 m/s로 나타났다.

Preparation of 27Ni6Zr4O143M(M=Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba)O/70 Zeolite Y Catalysts and Hydrogen-rich Gas Production by Ethanol Steam Reforming

  • In this study the effects of adding alkaline-earth (IIA) metal oxides to NiZr-loaded Zeolite Y catalysts were investigated on hydrogen rich production by ethanol steam reforming (ESR). Four kinds of alkaline-earth metal (Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba) oxides of 3.0% by weight were loaded between the $Ni_6Zr_4O_{14}$ main catalytic species and the microporous Zeolite Y support. The characterizations of these catalysts were examined by XRD, TEM, $H_2$-TPR, $NH_3$-TPD, and XPS. Catalytic performances during ESR were found to depend on the basicity of the added alkaline-earth metal oxides and $H_2$ production and ethanol conversion were maximized to 82% and 98% respectively in 27($Ni_6Zr_4O_{14}$)3MgO/70Zeolite Y catalyst at $600^{\circ}C$. Many carbon deposits and carbon nano fibers were seen on the surface of $30Ni_6Zr_4O_{14}$/70Zeolite Y catalyst but lesser amounts were observed on alkaline-earth metal oxide-loaded 27($Ni_6Zr_4O_{14}$)3MO/70Zeolite Y catalysts in TEM photos after ESR. This study demonstrates that hydrogen yields from ESR are closely related to the acidities of catalysts and that alkaline-earth metal oxides reduce the acidities of 27($Ni_6Zr_4O_{14}$)3MO/70Zeolite Y catalysts and promote hydrogen evolution by preventing progression to hydrocarbons.

Steam Reforming of Toluene Over Ni/Coal Ash Catalysts: Effect of Coal Ash Composition

  • The development of a low cost catalyst with high performance and small amount of carbon deposition on catalyst from toluene steam reforming were investigated by using coal ash as a support material. Ni-loaded coal ash catalyst showed similar catalytic activity for toluene steam reforming compared with the Ni/Al2O3. At 800 ℃, the toluene conversion was 77% for Ni/TAL, 68% for Ni/KPU and 78% for Ni/Al2O3. Ni/TAL showed similar toluene conversion to Ni/Al2O3. However, Ni/KPU produced higher hydrogen yield at relatively lower toluene conversion. Ni/KPU catalyst showed a remarkable ability of suppressing the carbon deposition. The difference in coke deposition and hydrogen yield is due to the composition of KPU ash (Ca and Fe) which increase coke resistance and water gas shift reaction. This study suggests that coal ash catalysts have great potential for the application in the steam reforming of biomass tar.

A Study on the Electromagnetic Property of NiCuZn Ferrite by Additive Bi2O3 and ZrO2 (Bi2O3와 ZrO2가 Ni-Cu-Zn Ferrite의 전자기적 특성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The electromagnetic properties and microstructure of the basic composition of $(Ni_{0.2}Cu_{0.2}ZnO_{0.2})_{1.02}(Fe_{2}O_{3})_{0.98}$ were invested, changing the amount of the additives $Bi_2O_3$ and $ZrO_2$ and sintering temperature. The spinel structure of specimen was confirmed by the analysis of XRD patterns. Grain size and its density are increased by increasing the additive and the sintering temperature.However, the permeability increased with decreasing additive. It was also found that $Bi_2O_3$ had more effect on the increase of grain size and permeability rather than $ZrO_2$.

Theoretical Study on Observed Heat of Ligation for Iron(Ⅱ) and Nickel(Ⅱ) Octahedral Complexes (팔면체형 Fe(Ⅱ)와 Ni(Ⅱ)착물의 실측 리간드화열에 관한 이론적 연구)

  • The correlation was investigated between the observed heat of ligation and calculated quantum chemical quantities for octahedral $[M(H_2O)_{6-x}(NH_3)_x]^{2+} (M=Fe(II),\;Ni(II))$ complexes by EHMO(Extended Huckel Molecular Orbital) and ZINDO/1(Zerner's Intermediate Neglected of Differential Overlap)method. The net charge of $Fe^{2+}$ and $Ni^{2+}$ ion of octahedral $[M(H_2O)_{6-x}(NH_3)_x]^{2+}(M=Fe(II),\;Ni(II))$ complexes(x=O, 1, …, 6) decreased with substituting $NH_3$ for $H_2O$ molecules. It has found that a good correlation exists between the observed heat of ligation and the calculated quantum chemical quantities such as net charge of central atom, enthalpy of formation, and total dissociation energy. From this finding, we have obtained the following semiempirical linear equation ${\Delta}H_{obs}=-0.2858_{qFe}+0.8813(r=0.97),\;{\Delta}H_{obs}=-0.8981_{qNi}+1.7929(r=0.95),\;{\Delta}H_{obs}=-0.0031H_{f(Fe)}+0.5725(r=0.97),\;{\Delta}H_{obs}=-0.0095H_{f(Ni)}+0.9193(r=0.97),\;{\Delta}H_{obs}=0.0476E_{diss(Fe)}+0.6434(r=0.94),\;{\Delta}H_{obs}=0.1401E_{diss(Ni)}+1.1393(r=0.93)$.

  • $Ni_{0.2}V_2O_5$ aerogel (ARG) was synthesized via the sol gel method and has been studied with an emphasis on the characterization of its electrochemical properties. ARG appear to be amorphous layered material. Electron micrograph revealed that entangled fibrous textures has been grown to form anisotropic corrugated sheets. Several sites for the Li ion intercalation exist between the layers of ARG and average cell potential was 3.1 V vs $Li/Li^+$ Th charge transfer resistance increases 3 to 4 times as lithium composition increases, but the interphase resistance remains almost constant regardless of the lithium composition in thc ARG.

  • We have performed $^{63,65}$Cu nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements on Zn and Ni doped YBa$_2Cu_3O_7$ (YBa$_2Cu_{3-x}M_xO_7$, M=Zn or Ni, x = 0.00 ${\sim}$ 0.09). Doping effects are markedly different in relaxation rates as well as in superconducting transition temperatures. Both the spin-lattice and the spin-spin relaxation rates decrease for Zn doped YBCO. However, those increase for Ni doped YBCO. This contrast in local electronic dynamics provides a clear microscopic evidence that Zn forms no local moment, while Ni develops a local moment. Consequently, the antiferromagnetic spin fluctuation is suppressed by Zn doping whereas it is preserved by Ni doping.

  • When the steel containing Si is oxidated in hi temperature, Re2O3, Red scale is made on the metal side as the spike phase, and this scale invasion into matrix. Therefore, it affects the feature, after rolling. It is reported that the role of Si is FeO/Fe2SiO4 eutectic compound, but Si can not affect pure iron independently. There must be Ni, then the spike phase can exist. Prominence and depression made by Ni that is necessity at the process to work iron. Therefore, in this study after the change of the amount of Ni in pure iron and steel and oxidation, the structure of the oxide and the surface, and the distribution of the elements were considered. In conclusion, at 100$0^{\circ}C$, 110$0^{\circ}C$, 120$0^{\circ}C$ the curves of oxidation weight are all S curves. Especially, in the beginning of oxidation as the amount of Ni increase, the amount of oxidation also increase. Practical steel has less oxidation than pure steel added Ni. There is much FeO in Fe-Ni alloy, compare to practical steel which has much Fe3O4. Especially, we could know considerable Ni was concentrated on the metal side in Fe-Ni alloy, practical steel. and the surface of the scale.
