Low-Z particle EPMA 단일입자 분석법을 이용한 지하철 승강장에서 미세입자 특성 분석 (Characterization of Aerosols Collected at a Subway Station Platform Using Low-Z Particle Electron Probe X-ray Microanalysis)

  • A single particle analytical technique, named low-Z particle electron probe X-ray microanalysis (EPMA), was applied to characterize samples collected at a subway station and ambient samples in Seoul. According to their chemical composition, many distinctive particle types were identified. For samples collected at the subway station platform, the major chemical species are carbon-rich, organic, aluminosilicates (AlSi), AlSi/C, AlSi/$CaCO_{3},\;CaCO_{3},\;SiO_{2},\;and\;Fe_{2}O_{3}$. For outdoor samples, carbon-rich, organic, AlSi, $CaCO_{3},\;SiO_{2},\;NaNO_{3},\;(Na,Mg)NO_{3},\;Na(CO_{3},NO_{3},SO_{4}),\;and\;(NH_{4})_2SO_4$, are abundantly encountered. Samples collected at the subway station show very high contents of $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, both in coarse and fine fractions, which come from brake block, subway train wheel, electric contact materials, etc. It is demonstrated that the single-particle characterization using this low-Z particle EPMA technique provided detailed information on various types of chemical species in indoor and outdoor samples.

  • 수도(水稻)에 대(對)한 cadmium화합물(化合物)의 형태(形態)에 따른 피해농도(被害濃度) 및 cadmium흡수정도(吸收程度)를 구명(究明)하기 위(爲)하여 $Cd(NO_3)_2$, $CdCl_2$, $CdSo_4$, $CdCo_3$ 및 CdS 등(等)의 화합물(化合物)을 토양(土壤)에 Cd로서 0, 5, 10, 25, 50 ppm처리(處理)하여 수도(水稻)의 수양(收量)에 미치는 농도(濃度)와 수도체중(水稻體中)의 cadmium함량(含量)을 조사(調査)한 바 그 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1) 토양중(土壤中) cadmium처리농도(處理濃度)가 높을수록 식물체(植物體) 경엽(莖葉) 및 현미중(玄米中) cadmium함량(含量)은 증가(增加)하였으나 수량(收量)은 높은 농도(濃度)에서 감소(減小)되었다. 2) 수양감수(收量減收)를 가져오는 토양중(土壤中) Cd의 농도(濃度)는 $Cd(NO_3)_2$ : 12.9ppm, $CdSO_4$ : 21.5ppm, $CdCl_2$ : 25.8ppm $CdCO_3$ : 33.2ppm, CdS : 97.6ppm 이었다. 3) 현미중(玄米中) cadmium함량(含量)이 1.0ppm이 되는 토양중(土壤中) Cd의 농도(濃度)는 $cd(NO_3)_2$ : 13.8ppm, $CdCl_2$ : 14.4ppm, $CdSO_4$ : 16.9ppm, $CdCO_3$ : 19.2ppm이었다. 4) cadmium의 현미흡수양/지상부흡수량비(玄米吸收量/地上部吸收量比)는 최고(最高) 분얼기(分蘖期) 28%, 유수형성기(幼穗形成期) 20%, 수확기(收穫期) 15%이었다. 5) 유수형성기(幼穗形成期) 식물체(植物體) 경엽중(莖葉中) cadmium함량(含量)과 현미중(玄米中) cadmium함량(含量)과의 관계(關係)는 $Y=0.067-0.0028x+0.007x^2$으로 고도(高度)의 유의성(有意性)이 있었다. 6) 용해도(溶解度)가 낮은 cadmium화합물(化合物)이 시험후(試驗後) 토양중(土壤中) 가용성(可溶性) cadmium합량(合量)이 낮았다.

  • In this study performance evaluation of filtering system were made on the clean air supply system to show it's ability to eliminate the air contaminants. The evaluation was conducted inside the 3,200CMH scale wind tunnel and under the same environment that is effected by yellow dust and similar particle and gas phase contaminants in semi-conductor and FPDs industries. (1) The result of experimental for particle contaminants, the particle removing efficiency was 40% on condition that the air velocity is 2.5m/s, L/G ratio : 0.05, electrified voltage : (+)5.8kV with electric charger and (-)3.5kV with eliminator. (2) The gas phase removing efficiency for $NH_3$ : 80%, $SO_X$ : 70% and $NO_X$ : 40% on condition that the air velocity is 2.5m/s, L/G ratio : 0.05.

The Effects of Ischemic Postconditioning on Myocardial Function and Nitric Oxide Metabolites Following Ischemia-Reperfusion in Hyperthyroid Rats

  • Ischemic postconditioning (IPost) could decrease ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury. It has not yet reported whether IPost is useful when ischemic heart disease is accompanied with co-morbidities like hyperthyroidism. The aim of this study was to examine the effect of IPost on myocardial IR injury in hyperthyroid male rats. Hyperthyroidism was induced with administration of thyroxine in drinking water (12 mg/L) over a period of 21 days. After thoracotomy, the hearts of control and hyperthyroid rats were perfused in the Langendorff apparatus and subjected to 30 minutes global ischemia, followed by 120 minutes reperfusion; IPost, intermittent early reperfusion, was induced instantly following ischemia. In control rats, IPost significantly improved the left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP) and ${\pm}dp/dt$ during reperfusion (p<0.05); however it had no effect in hyperthyroid rats. In addition, hyperthyroidism significantly increased basal $NO_x$ (nitrate+nitrite) content in serum ($125.5{\pm}5.4{\mu}mol/L$ vs. $102.8{\pm}3.7{\mu}mol/L$; p<0.05) and heart ($34.9{\pm}4.1{\mu}mol/L$ vs. $19.9{\pm}1.94{\mu}mol/L$; p<0.05). In hyperthyroid groups, heart $NO_x$ concentration significantly increased after IR and IPost, whereas in the control groups, heart $NO_x$ were significantly higher after IR and lower after IPost (p<0.05). IPost reduced infarct size (p<0.05) only in control groups. In hyperthyroid group subjected to IPost, aminoguanidine, an inducible nitric oxide (NO) inhibitor, significantly reduced both the infarct size and heart $NO_x$ concentrations. In conclusion, unlike normal rats, IPost cycles following reperfusion does not provide cardioprotection against IR injury in hyperthyroid rats; an effect that may be due to NO overproduction because it is restored by iNOS inhibition.

Landsat TM 영상자료를 활용한 삼척 대형산불 피해지의 비이산화탄소 온실가스 배출량 추정 (Estimation of non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases Emissions from Biomass Burning in the Samcheok Large-Fire Area Using Landsat TM Imagery)

  • 지구온난화 문제는 국지적, 국내적 환경문제가 아닌 범지구적 차원에서 해결하여야 할 문제로 온실가스 규제와 지구환경의 조화를 위한 국제적 노력이 요구된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 바이오매스 연소시 배출되는 비이산화탄소의 배출량을 정량적으로 추정하기 위한 방법론을 제시하고자 하였고, 산불피해지 구분은 물론 피해강도에 따라 배출되는 비이산화탄소 온실가스를 정량적으로 추정하기 위해 위성영상 자료를 활용하였으며, IPCC 기준인 Tier 2 수준으로 비이산화탄소 온실가스 배출량을 추정하였다. 본 연구에서는 2000년 4월에 발생한 우리나라 최대 산불인 삼척피해지를 대상으로 산불 전후 동일시기에 관측된 Landsat 위성영상으로부터 정규탄화지수(NBR)를 추출하여 산불피해지역과 피해강도를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 위성영상에서 추출된 피해면적과 피해강도별 분석자료는 바이오매스 연소로 인해 직접 배출되는 비이산화탄소 배출량 추정을 위한 활동자료로 활용하였다. 비이산화탄소 배출량 추정을 위해 IPCC의 추정식을 이용하였다. 산불피해강도별 연소효율은 피해강도가 '심'(burn severity: high)인 수관화 지역의 경우 0.43, 피해강도 '중'(burn severity: moderate) 0.40, 그리고 피해강도가 '경'인 지표화지(burn severity: low)의 경우는 0.15를 적용하였다. 바이오매스 연소시 배출되는 비이산화탄소 온실가스별 배출계수는 CO 130, $CH_4$ 9, $NO_x$ 0.7, $N_2O$ 0.11 값을 적용하였다. 삼척 산불피해지의 dNBR에 의한 피해강도 분석 결과, 전체 피해면적은 16,200ha로 나타났으며, 피해강도는 '경(Low: dNBR 152 이하)' 35%, '중(Moderate: dNBR 153-190)' 33%, '심(High: dNBR 191-255)' 32%의 면적분포를 보였다. 임상별 피해면적은 침엽수림 11,506ha(77%), 활엽수림 453ha(3%) 그리고 혼효림에서 2,978ha(20%)의 피해를 입은 것으로 평가되었다. 삼척 산불피해지의 바이오매스 연소로 인해 직접 배출된 비이산화탄소 배출량 추정 결과, CO 93%, CH4 6.4%, $NO_x$ 0.5%, $N_2O$ 0.1%의 순으로 배출량이 많았다. 삼척 산불피해지의 강도별 피해면적은 32%$\sim$35%의 분포로 고른 양상을 보이고 있지만 피해강도 '중' 지역에서 배출된 비이산화탄소의 양이 전체의 47%를 차지하여 배출율이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 삼척산불 피해지의 총 비이산화탄소 온실가스 배출량은 CO 44.100Gg, CH4 3.053Gg, $NO_x$ 0.238Gg 그리고 $N_2O$는 0.038Gg이 배출된 것으로 추정되었다.

분무수 pH 변화에 따른 에어와셔의 가스제거 성능변화 (Gas removal efficiency of air washer system according to pH of sprayed water)

  • In this study, experiment was done to verify the relationship between sprayed water's pH and gas removal efficiency of the Air Washer system. The experiment was done with sprayed water's pH in between pH 4.7 to 7.7, and Ion Chromatography analysis was used to identify the system's gas removal efficiency. As a result, $NH_3$ is removal efficiency decreased under 50% above pH 7, and $SO_X$ and $NO_X$ removal efficiency decreased under pH 6. Through this research, the optimum pH operating condition of the Air Washer System was conformed to be in range between pH6 to pH6.5.

Isonicotinic Acid Hydrazide의 Hydrazone으로부터 유도된 코발트(II) 착물의 합성, 물리-화학 및 생물학적 성질 (Synthesis, Physico-Chemical and Biological Properties of Complexes of Cobalt(II) Derived from Hydrazones of Isonicotinic Acid Hydrazide)

  • Isonicotinic acid hydrazid의 Hydrazones, 즉, N-isonicotinamido-furfuralaldimine (INH-FFL), N-isonicotnamido- cinnamalidine (INH-CIN) 및 N-isonicotnamido-3',4',5'-trimethoxybenzaldimine (INH-TMB)를 isonicotinic acid hydrazide와 예를 들면 furfural, cinnamaldehyde 또는 3,4,5-trimethoxy-benzaldehyde 등과 같 은 각각의 방향족 알데히드와의 반응으로부터 제조하였다. INH-FFL, INH-CIN and INH-TMB와 같은 새로운 hydrazones을 코발트(II) 염과 반응시켜 새로운 일련의 15개 코발트(II) 착물을 제조하였다. 적외선 분광 데이타를 통해 hydrazone 리간드들이 $Co^{2+}$ 이온에 대해 N, O 주개원자의 배열을 갖는 두자리 리간드임을 규명하였다. 착물 의 특성은 원소분석, 수자율, 전도도, 적외선 및 전자 스펙트럼 측정을 통해 조사하였다. 분석 데이터로부터 착물은 [$Co(L)_2X_2$] 및 [$Co(L)_3](ClO_4)_2$ (L = INH-FFL, INH-CIN 또는 INH-TMB, 그리고X = $Cl^-,\;{NO_3}^-,\;NCS^-$ 또는 $CH_3COO^-$)의 일반적 조성을 가짐을 알 수 있었다. 열무게법으로부터 착물의 열적 행동을 조사하였다. 전자 스펙 트럼 결과와 자화율 측정으로부터 코발트(II) 킬레이트가 6배위의 기하구조를 이루고 있다는 것을 확인할 수 있었 다. 코발트(II) 착물과 약간의 표준약물에 대한 향균성으로부터 이들 착물이 매우 적합한 향균성질을 가짐을 알 수 있다.

Effects of Additives on the Properties of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$

  • The superconducting properties of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ with different content impurities of PbO and $BaPbO_3$ were studied. When the PbO was used as an additive in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$, although the melting point could be reduced, the superconductivity became poor. From the XRD pattern of the sintered mixture of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and PbO it was known that there is a reaction between $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and PbO, and the product is $BaPbO_3$. In the process of the reaction the superconducting phase of $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ was decreased and $BaPbO_3$ would be the main phase in the sample. Therefore, $BaPbO_3$ was chosen as the impurity additive for the comparative study. The single phase of $BaPbO_3$ was synthesized by the simple way from both mixtures of $BaCO_3$ and PbO, $BaCO_3$ and $PbO_2$. Different contents of $BaPbO_3$ (10%, 20%, 30%) were added in the $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$. By the Phase analysis in the XRD patterns it was proved that there was no reaction between $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ and $BaPbO_3$. When $BaPbO_3$ was used as impurity in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$ the superconductivity was much better than PbO as an impurity additive in $YBa_2Cu_3O_x$.

운행자동차 성능 및 배기 배출물에 미치는 흡기 다기관, 흡기 파이프 및 공기필터의 튜닝효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on Tuning Effects of Intake Manifold, Intake Pipe and Air Filter upon Performance and Exhaust Emissions of Driving Car)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the possibility of effective tuning works, understand the characteristics of tuning engine, and analyse the basic data of engine tuning inspection corresponding to the safe operation and environment of a driving gasoline car. The effects of tuning on the characteristics of performance and exhaust emissions under a wide range of engine speeds are experimentally investigated by the actual driving car with a four-cycle, four-cylinder DOHC, turbo-intercooler, water-cooled gasoline engine operating at four types of non-tuning, tuning 1, 2 and 3. The tuning parts in the gasoline engine are the intake manifold, intake pipe and air filter. In the experiment, the output, torque and air-fuel ratio of the five-speed automatic transmission vehicles were measured at the chassis dynamometer(Dynojet 224xLC) with one person on board. The exhaust emissions of $NO_X$, THC, CO, $O_2$ and $CO_2$, and excess air ratio(${\lambda}$) at the other chassis dynamometer(DASAN-MD-ASM-97-KR-HD) were also measured by the idle/constant-speed mode(ASM2525 mode) test method. It is found that the actual air-fuel ratios of non-tuning and tuning engines were shown to be lower than the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio with increasing engine speed, and the actual air-fuel ratio of non-tuning engine was slightly higher than those of tuning engines when the engine speed is more than 4000 rpm. The output was significantly increased by the tuning whereby the maximum output of tuning engine was more increased to approximately 117.64% than that of non-tuning engine. In addition, CO, THC and $NO_X$ emissions of non-tuning and tuning engines measured by the constant-speed test mode were all satisfied with the inspection standards. CO emission was increased, while THC and $NO_X$ emissions were reduced by tuning.

ECU 커먼레일 디젤기관에 있어서 매연 및 NOX 배출물 동시 저감용 일체형 요소-SCR 촉매필터 시스템의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of an Integrated Urea-SCR Catalytic Filter System for Simultaneous Reduction of Soot and NOX Emissions in ECU Common-rail Diesel Engines)

  • The aim of this study is to develop an integrated urea-SCR catalytic filter system for reducing soot and $NO_X$ emissions simultaneously in diesel engines. In this study, the characteristics of exhaust emissions relative to reactive activation temperature under four kinds of engine loads are experimentally investigated by using a four-cycle, four-cylinder, direct injection type, water-cooled turbo intercooler ECU common-rail diesel engine with the integrated urea-SCR $MnO_2-V_2O_5-WO_3/TiO_2/SiC$ catalytic filter system operating at three kinds of engine speeds. The urea-SCR reactor is used to reduce $NO_X$ emissions, and the catalytic filter system is used to reduce soot emissions. The reactive activation temperature is very important for reacting a reducing agent with exhaust emissions. The reactive activation temperatures in this experiment is applied to 523, 573 and 623 K. The fuel is sprayed by the pilot and main injections at the variable injection timing between BTDC $15^{\circ}$ and ATDC $1^{\circ}$ according to experimental conditions. It is found that the $NO_X$ conversion rate is the highest as 83.9% at the reactive activation temperature of 523 K in all experimental conditions of engine speed and load, and the soot emissions shown by the average reduction rate of approximately 93.3% are almost decreased below 0.6% in all experimental conditions regardless of reactive activation temperatures. Also, the THC and CO emissions by oxidation reaction of Mn, V and Ti are shown in the average reduction rates of 70.3% and 38% regardless of all experimental conditions.
