  • The transform domain characterization of cyclic codes over finite fields using Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT) over an appropriate extension field is well known. In this paper, we extend this transform domain characterization for cyclic codes over $F_p + uF_p +... + u^{k-l}F_p$. We give a way to characterize cyclic codes over $F_p + uF_p +... + u^{k-l}F_p$ by Mattson-Solomon polynomials and multiple defining sets.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 발달로 사용자는 자신의 질의에 적합한 검색결과를 빠르고 정확하게 보장하는 검색도구를 요구하게 되었다. 이러한 사용자의 요구는 검색도구의 성능향상에 필수적인 문서의 내용을 대표하는 색인어를 추출하는 색인 시스템에 대한 관심을 가지게 되었다. 기존의 한국어에서의 자동 색인 방법에는 어절 중심 색인법, 형태소 중심 색인법과 최근에 n-gram 중심 색인법 등이 주류를 이루어 왔다. 그러나 한국어에서 색인어를 추출하는 기존의 방법은 복합명사의 색인과 복잡한 문법적 지식이 필요하고 잘못된 색인어를 추출하는 등의 검색효율에 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 PDA를 이용한 정형화된 한국어와 영어문장의 자동 색인 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 별도의 사전지식이 필요하지 않고 단일 명사와 복합명사의 색인이 가능하며 인터넷으로의 확장과 다양한 언어로 확장성이 좋은 장점 등을 갖는다. 성능 평가로써 한국통신의 KTSET으로 MS사의 IIS를 웹 서버로 ASP를 이용하여 인터넷 환경에서 테스트를 통하여 한국어 뿐 아니라 영어문장의 정형화되고 이용이 간편한 자동색인 결과를 보여준다.

Occurrence of Microcystin-Containing Toxic Water Blooms in Central India

  • Three out of fourteen Microcystis-dominant cyanobacterial blooms in Central India were found to be toxic to mice ($LD_{50}$ ranging from 35-450 mg bloom dry mass/kg body weight). The liver architecture of the treated mice showed characteristic symptoms of hepatotoxicity relative to the untreated controls, with increased enzyme activities of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (SGPT). RP-HPLC revealed the presence of microcystin-LR, microcystin-RR, and desmethyl microcystin-RR in the given region to maximum amounts of 390, 1,030, and $860{\mu}g/g$ bloom dry weight, respectively, corresponding to a maximum of 2.8 mg/l microcystin-LR in the lake water. Further confirmation of the microcystin variants was conducted using a MALDI-TOF MS analysis.

  • Cyclodextrin glucanotransferase (CGTase) from Bacillus stearothermophilus synthesized vanillin and ethyl vanillin monoglucoside, with a series of its maltooligoglucosides by transglycosylation with dextrin as a donor, and vanillin or ethyl vanillin as an acceptor. The monoglucoside formed from reaction mixture of vanillin or ethyl vanillin by the successive actions of CGTase and Rhizopus glucoamylase was isolated by extraction with n-butanol saturated with water and silica gel column chromatography. The structure of the isolated monoglucoside was identified as vanillin- $\alpha$ -D-glucoside and ethyl vanillin- $\alpha$ -D-glucoside, respectively, by FAB-MS, UV, IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR spectra and products by hydrolysis with acid, $\alpha$ - and $\beta$ -glucosidases.

Stilbenoids of Korean Pine (Pinus koraiensis) Inner Bark

  • Pinus koraiensis inner bark was collected and extracted with 95% ethanol. The extracts were concentrated and then sequentially fractionated using n-hexane, $CH_2Cl_2$, EtOAc, and $H_2O$ to be freeze dried. A portion of EtOAc fraction (6.6 g) was chromatographed on a Sephadex LH-20 column using aqueous methanol to isolate (+)-catechin (1), (-)-epicatechin (2), and trans-pinostilbenoside (3). Resveratrol (4) and trans-pinostilbene (5) were isolated by column chromatography using EtOH-hexane mixture after purification with aqueous methanol. The structures of these stilbenosides and flavans were characterized by spectroscopic tools using NMR and MS.

Ellagitannins from Bark of Juglans mandshurica

  • Juglans mandshurica bark was collected and extracted with 70% aqueous acetone. The extracts were concentrated and then sequentially fractionated using n-hexane, $CH_2Cl_2$, EtOAc, and $H_2O$ to be freeze dried. A portion of $H_2O$ fraction was chromatographed on a Sephadex LH-20 column using aqueous methanol to isolate (S)-2,3-HHDP-D-glucopyranoside (1). Some of EtOAc fraction was also treated on a Sephadex LH-20 column using aqueous methanol and EtOH-hexane mixture to purify pedunculagin (2). The structures of these two epimeric ellagitannins were elucidated by spectroscopic tools, NMR and MS.

열선 CVD를 이용한 a-Si:H의 c-Si표면 passivation 및 열처리 효과 분석

  • c-Si wafer에 HWCVD로 증착된 a-Si:H 박막은 초기에 낮은 passivation 특성을 가지나 열처리 공정을 통해 효과적인 passivation을 가진다. 열처리 공정은 온도와 시간에 따라 큰 차이를 보인다. 이에 열선CVD를 이용하여 n type의 c-Si 기판에 a-Si:H을 증착하여 열처리 온도에 따른 Minority carrier Lifetime를 QSSPC를 통해 passivation 특성을 측정하였다. 온도는 $150^{\circ}C{\sim}270^{\circ}C$로 변화하여 측정하였다. 또한 열처리 시간을 10분씩 증가시켜 열처리 시간에 따른 passivation을 연구, 1ms에 이르는 Minority carrier lifetime을 얻었다.

  • 기존의 비디오 검색 방법들은 관련 주석이나 영상 정보에 기반하며 사용자의 반응과 관련하여서는 많은 정보를 활용하고 있지 않다. 비디오 시청시 사용자의 뇌신호나 시선추적 정보 등의 인지적 반응을 이용하여 연속적인 비디오 스트림의 각 부분에 대하여 사용자들이 나타내는 관심이나 감성 정보를 추출한다면 보다 인터랙티브한 비디오 데이터 검색 및 추천이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 비디오를 시청하는 사용자의 안구전도(electrooculogram)를 기록한 후, 장면 전환이 발생한 부분에서의 사건관련전위 분석을 통해 해당 부분에서 나타나는 특징적 반응을 찾고 이에 대한 인지적 해석을 도출했다. 실험 결과 장면 전환 이후200~700ms 부분에서 P300 성분과 유사한 피크가 발생하는 것을 확인하였으며, 이러한 결과는 장면 전환에 따른 피험자의 비디오 내용 인지에 대한 의도 불일치 및 주의력 증가로 해석된다.

  • The phytochemical study for the extract of Nelumbo nucifera (Nymphaceae) seeds has led to the isolation of ten compounds including five simple phenolic compounds, two indole derivatives, a flavonoid glycoside, two abscisic acid derivatives. The interpretation of 1D and 2D NMR and ESI-Q-TOF-MS spectroscopic data revealed the chemical structures of isolates to be p-hydroxybenzoic acid (1), protocatechuic acid (2), (E)-p-coumaric acid (3), (E)-ferulic acid (4), (E)-sinapate-4-O-${\beta}$-$\text\tiny{D}$-glucopyranoside (5), tryptophan (6), 3-indoleacetic acid (7), isoschaftoside (8), dihydrophaseic acid (9), dihydrophaseic acid 3'-O-${\beta}$-$\text\tiny{D}$-glucopyranoside (10). To the best of our knowledge, 1 - 5 and 7 were identified for the first time from N. nucifera seeds, and the presence of dihydrophaseic acid (9) and its glucoside (10) were demonstrated secondly in this plant.

Chemical Constituents of Fermented Noni (Morinda citrifolia) Juice Exudates and Their Biological Activity

  • In a continuing study of the fermented noni (Morinda citrifolia) juice exudates, five compounds, heptanyl $2-O-{\beta}-{\small{D}}-xylofuranosyl-(1{\rightarrow}6)-{\beta}-{\small{D}}-glucopyranoside$ (1), n-butyl ${\beta}-{\small{D}}-glucopyranoside$ (2), (1S)-(3-ethenyl-phenyl)-1,2-ethanediol (3), (2S)-2-hydroxybutanedioic acid (4), and daucosterol (5) were isolated from the buthanol partition of the extract. The structures of the isolates were identified by 1D and 2D NMR, and MS experiments, as well as by comparison of their data with the published values. Among the isolates, compounds 1 - 3 were isolated for the first time from the plant species. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their cancer chemopreventive potential based on their ability to inhibit nitric oxide (NO) production and tumor necrosis factor alpha ($TNF-{\alpha}$)-induced $NF-{\kappa}B$ activity, and quinonone reductase-1 (QR1)-inducing effect.
