Oxidation Behavior of $Ni_xFe_{1-x}(OH)_2$ in $C\Gamma$-containing Solutions

  • The addition of Ni leads to the formation of protective rust layer on steel and subsequently high corrosion resistance of steel in $Cl^-$-containing environment. $\alpha$-FeOOH, $\beta$-FeOOH, $\gamma$-FeOOH and $Fe_3O_4$ are formed mainly on steels exposed to $Cl^-$-containing environment. As the first work of this kind, this study reports the influence of Ni on the oxidation behavior of $Ni_xFe_{1-x}(OH)_2$ in $Cl^-$-containing solution at two different pH regions(condition I under which the solution pH is allowed to decrease and condition I under which solution pH is maintained at 8) where $\gamma$-FeOOH and $Fe_3O_4$ are predominantly formed, respectively, upon oxidation of $Fe(OH)_2$, In the presence of Ni(II) in the starting solution, the formation of $\beta$-FeOOH was facilitated and the formation of $\gamma$-FeOOH was suppressed with increasing Ni(II) content and with increasing oxidation rate of Fe(II). Ni(II) was found to have $Fe_3O_4$-suppressing effect under condition II.

인공산성우(人工酸性雨)가 잣나무 유묘(幼苗)의 생장(生長), 엽내함유성분(葉內含有成分) 및 토양(土壤)의 화학적(化學的) 성질(性質)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Simulated Acid Rain on Growth and Contents of Chemical Substances in Needles of Pinus koraiensis Seedlings and on Chemical Properties of the Tested Soil)

  • 잣나무(Pinus koraiensis) 파종상(播種床)에 인공산성우(人工酸性雨)로 처리(處理)하고 생장(生長), 엽내함유성분(葉內含有成分) 그리고 배지(培地) 토양(土壤)의 화학적(化學的) 성질(性質)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 산도수준(酸度水準)에 따라 평가(評價)하였다. 잣나무 종자(種子)를 1985년(年) 봄에 묘포토양(苗圃土壤)을 채운 pot에 파종(播種)하고, 해당지역(該當地域)의 30년간(年間)의 강우양식(降雨樣式)에 모의(模擬)(simulation)해서, 황산(黃酸)과 질산(窒酸)의 비율(比率)을 3:2로 혼합(混合)하여 지하수(地下水)로 희석(稀釋)한 pH 4.0 및 pH 2.0의 산성우(酸性雨)와 지하수(地下水)(pH 6.5)를 5월(月)부터 8월(月)까지 4개월간(個月間)에 걸쳐 살포(撒布)하고, 동년(同年) 10월(月) 30일(日) 시료(試料)를 채취(採取)하여 분석(分析)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같았다; 1) 잣나무 파종묘(播種苗)의 엽내함유성분(葉內含有成分)의 함량(含量)은 산성우(酸性雨)의 pH 값이 저하(低下)됨에 따라 S와 $K_2O$는 증가(增加)를, MgO 와 $P_2O_5$는 감소(減少)되었다. 2) 산성우(酸性雨)의 pH 값이 낮아짐에 따라 토양산도(土壤酸度)는 저하(低下)되었고, 치환성(置換性) Al 함량(含量)은 크게 증가(增加)하는 상반(相反)된 반응(反應)을 보였다. 3) 토양(土壤)의 치환성(置換性) Ca, Mg 및 K의 함량(含量)과 염기총량(鹽基總量), 염기포화도(鹽基飽和度)는 산성우(酸性雨)의 pH 값이 낮아짐에 따라 현저(顯著)하게 감소(減少)되었다. 4) 토양내(土壤內) sulfate 함량(含量)은 산성우(酸性雨)의 pH 값이 저하(低下) 될수록 크게 증가(增加)하였다.

The Effect of Co2+-Ion Exchange Time into Zeolite Y (FAU, Si/Al = 1.56): Their Single-Crystal Structures

  • Three single crystals of fully dehydrated $Co^{2+}$-exchanged zeolite Y (Si/Al = 1.56) were prepared by the exchange of $Na_{75}$-Y ($|Na_{75}|[Si_{117}Al_{75}O_{384}]$-FAU) with aqueous streams 0.05 M in $Co(NO_3)_2$, pH = 5.1, at 294 K for 6 h, 12 h, and 18 h, respectively, followed by vacuum dehydration at 673 K. Their single-crystal structures were determined by synchrotron X-ray diffraction techniques in the cubic space group Fd3m at 100(1) K. They were refined to the final error indices $R_1/wR_2$ = 0.0437/0.1165, 0.0450/0.1228, and 0.0469/0.1278, respectively. Their unit-cell formulas are $|Co_{29.1}Na_{11.8}H_{5.0}|[Si_{117}Al_{75}O_{384}]$-FAU, $|Co_{29.8}Na_{11.0}H_{4.4}|[Si_{117}Al_{75}O_{384}]$-FAU, and $|Co_{30.3}Na_{9.5}H_{4.9}|[Si_{117}Al_{75}O_{384}]$-FAU, respectively. In all three crystals, $Co^{2+}$ ions occupy sites I, I' and II; $Na^+$ ions are also at site II. The tendency of $Co^{2+}$ exchange slightly increases with increasing contact time as $Na^+$ content and the unit cell constant of the zeolite framework decrease.

Sn-Zr계 촉매 상에서 CO와 H2를 이용한 SO2 환원 반응특성 (The Reactivity for the SO2 Reduction with CO and H2 over Sn-Zr Based Catalysts)

  • 본 연구에서는 석탄가스화복합발전(integrated gas combined cycle, 이하 IGCC) 시스템의 석탄가스화기로부터 생산되는 석탄가스가 환원제로 이용되는 $SO_2$ 환원공정인 직접 황 회수 공정(direct sulfur recovery process, 이하 DSRP)에서 이용 가능한 Sn-Zr계 촉매 상에서의 $SO_2$ 환원반응특성을 조사하였다. Sn-Zr계 촉매는 0/1, 1/4, 1/1, 2/1, 3/1, 1/0의 Sn/Zr 몰비로 조절하여 침전법 및 공침법으로 제조되었다. 공간속도가 $10,000ml/g_{-cat.}{\cdot}h$, 반응물 몰비$([CO(or\;H_2)]/[SO_2])$가 2.0인 반응조건 하에서 Sn-Zr계 촉매를 이용하여 온도를 변화시킨 가운데 석탄가스에 포함되어 있는 $H_2$ 또는 CO를 환원제로 사용하여 $SO_2$ 환원에 대한 반응특성이 조사되었다. 실험 결과, 환원제의 종류에 상관없이 $SnO_2$$ZrO_2$보다 Sn-Zr계 촉매가 활성이 더 높았으며, 환원제의 종류에 대한 반응성 조사 결과, $H_2$보다 CO가 $SO_2$ 환원에 더 높은 반응성을 나타내었다. $H_2$가 환원제로 이용된 $SO_2$ 환원특성을 조사한 결과, Sn/Zr 비에 따라 제조된 Sn-Zr계 촉매의 종류에 상관없이 온도가 증가함에 따라 반응성이 증가하는 경향을 보이며 Sn/Zr 몰비가 1/4인 촉매를 사용한 경우 $550^{\circ}C$에서 $SO_2$전환율이 94.4%, 원소 황 수율이 66.4%로 높은 반응성을 나타내었다. 반면 CO를 환원제로 이용한 경우에는 Sn/Zr 몰비가 높은 촉매일수록 최적 반응온도가 감소되는 특이한 경향을 나타내었다. Sn-Zr계 촉매 중 Sn/Zr 몰비가 3/1인 $SnO_2-ZrO_2$ 촉매가 가장 낮은 최적 반응온도에서 높은 반응성을 나타내었는데, $325^{\circ}C$에서 $SO_2$전환율이 약 100%, 원소 황 수율이 약 99.5%로 가장 높은 반응성을 얻었다. 그리고 CO가 $H_2$보다 더 많이 포함되어 있는 석탄모사가스에 대하여 환원제로서의 이용가능성을 확인하고자 $CO/H_2$ 비를 달리한 각각의 합성가스에 대하여 $SO_2$ 환원반응실험을 수행하였다. Sn/Zr 몰비가 2/1인 Sn-Zr계 촉매 상에서 $SO_2$ 환원반응 실험 결과, CO 함량이 높은 합성가스일수록 효과적인 환원제임을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 Sn-Zr계 촉매가 적용된 DSRP에서 석탄모사가스가 환원제로 이용 가능하다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Icaritin Preparation from Icariin by a Special Epimedium Flavonoid-Glycosidase from Aspergillus sp.y848 Strain

  • In this study, to obtain icaritin with high pharmacological activities from icariin, which has a content ratio of over 58% in the total flavonoids of Epimedium herb, a special Epimedium flavonoid-glycosidase was produced, purified and characterized from Aspergillus sp.y848 strain. The optimal enzyme production was gained in a medium containing 5% (w/v) wheat bran extract and 0.7% (w/v) Epimedium leaf powder as the enzyme inducer, and strain culture at 30℃ for 6-7 days. The molecular weight of the enzyme was approximately 73.2 kDa; the optimal pH and temperature were 5.0 and 40℃. The enzyme Km and Vmax values for icariin were 15.63 mM and 55.56 mM/h. Moreover, the enzyme hydrolyzed the 7-O-glucosides of icariin into icariside II, and finally hydrolyzed 3-Orhamnoside of icariside II into icaritin. The enzyme also hydrolyzed 7-O-glucosides of epimedin B to sagittatoside B, and then further hydrolyzed terminal 3-O-xyloside of sagittatoside B to icarisiede II, before finally hydrolyzing 3-O-rhamnoside of icarisiede II into icaritin. The enzyme only hydrolyzed 7-O-glucoside of epimedin A or epimedin C into sagittatoside A or sagittatoside C. It is possible to prepare icaritin from the high-content icariin in Epimedium herb using this enzyme. When 2.5% icariin was reacted at 40℃ for 18-20 h by the low-cost crude enzyme, 5.04 g icaritin with 98% purity was obtained from 10 g icariin. Also, the icaritin molar yield was 92.5%. Our results showed icaritin was successfully produced via cost-effective and relatively simple methods from icariin by crude enzyme. Our results should be very useful for the development of medicines from Epimedium herb.

여천공단 주변지역 토양의 화학적 성질 (Chemical Properties of Soils in the Vicinity of Yoch의on Industrial Complex)

  • Effects of air pollutants on the chemical properties of soil in Yoch'on inductrial complex were investigated. Soil pH showed severe acidity with average value of 4.3$\pm$0.13. Soil pH decreaed along the increase in altitute of Mt. Jeseok. Soil organic matter and total N was 19.2$\pm$3.6% and 4.7$\pm$0.25mg/g, respectively, which were higher than those of unpolluted area, Kongju. Available P was 41.2$\pm$3.7 $\mu$g/g, which was 4 times greater than that of unpolluted area, Kongju. Average content of total-S was 283.5$\pm$14.1 $\mu$g/g, which was 10 times greater than that of unpolluted area. Content of available Al was o.43$\pm$0.03 mg/g, which was 2 times greater than that of unpolluted area. Available Al increased as the soil pH decrease. Contents of exchangeable K, Ca and Mg were significantly lower than those in unpolluted area, because of severe leaching in acid soil.

Eu3+ 이온의 몰 비 변화에 따른 MgMoO4:Dy3+,Eu3+ 형광체의 광학 특성 (Optical Properties of MgMoO4:Dy3+,Eu3+ Phosphors Prepared with Different Eu3+ Molar Ratios)

  • The effects of $Eu^{3+}$ doping on the structural, morphological, and optical properties of $MgMoO_4:Dy^{3+},Eu^{3+}$ phosphors prepared by solid-state reaction technique were investigated. XRD patterns exhibited that all the synthesized phosphors showed a monoclinic system with a dominant (220) diffraction peak, irrespective of the content of $Eu^{3+}$ ions. The surface morphology of $MgMoO_4:Dy^{3+},Eu^{3+}$ phosphors was studied using scanning electron microscopy and the grains showed a tendency to agglomerate as the content of $Eu^{3+}$ ions increased. The excitation spectra of the phosphor powders were composed of a strong charge transfer band centered at 294 nm in the range of 230~340 nm and two intense peaks at 354 and 389 nm, respectively, arising from the $^6H_{15/2}{\rightarrow}^6P_{7/2}$ and $^6H_{15/2}{\rightarrow}^4M_{21/2}$ transitions of $Dy^{3+}$ ions. The emission spectra of the $Mg_{0.85}MoO_4$:10 mol% $Dy^{3+}$ phosphors without incorporating $Eu^{3+}$ ions revealed a strong yellow band centered at 573 nm resulting from the $^4F_{9/2}{\rightarrow}^6H_{13/2}$ transition of $Dy^{3+}$. As the content of $Eu^{3+}$ was increased, the intensity of the yellow emission was gradually decreased, while that of red emission band located at 614 nm began to appear, approached a maximum value at 10 mol%, and then decreased at 15 mol% of $Eu^{3+}$. These results indicated that white light emission could be achieved by controlling the contents of the $Dy^{3+}$ and $Eu^{3+}$ ions incorporated into the $MgMoO_4$ host crystal.

  • In recent years Sol-Gel processing provides an interesting alternative method for the fabrication of ferroelectric thin layers and powder. PZT powder was prepared from an alkoxide-based solution by a Sol-Gel method. Gelation of synthesized complex solutions, microstructure, thermal analysis and crystallization behaviors of the calcined powder were studied in accordance with a water content and a catalyst. Especially gelation and crystallization behavior were analysed with the change of pH. The gelation time decreased as the pH of the mixed solution increased. For PZT powder with 650.deg. C heat treatment, 100% perovskite phase was formed by using either acidic or basic catalyst. By using either acidic or basic catalyst, we were able to get very fine powders of uniform shape with an average particle size of 0.8-1.mu.m.

연소 화염법에 의해 합성된 다이아몬드형상에 미치는 탄화수소량과 온도분포의 영향 (The Effect of Hydrocarbon Content and Temperature Distribution on The Morphology of Diamond Film Synthesized by Combustion Flame Method)

  • 연소화염법을 이용한 다이아몬드 박막합성시 기판표면온도 및 온도분포에 가장 크게 작용하는 공정변수는 탄화수소량을 결정하는 산소/아세틸렌 가스의 혼합비(R=O/sub 2/C/sub 2/H/sub 2/)이다. 본 연구에서는 혼합가스비율 변화 (R=0.87-0.98)에 따른 기판표면온도 및 온도분포를 측정하고, 이들 변수에 따른 다이아몬드 박막의 생성 및 결정형상의 변화과정을 SEM관찰, Raman 분광분석 및 X-선 회절 분석을 통해 조사하였다. 혼합가스비율의 증가에 따라 다이아몬드의 생성입자 수밀도는 감소하였고, 이와 동시에 결정형상도 (111)면과 (100)면이 혼재된 cobo octahedron형에서 octahedron인 (111)면으로 변화되었다. 한편, 기판온도증가에 따라 생성입자의 수밀도가 증가하고 성장속도도 빨라져 조대한 결정을 얻었으며, 생성된 입자형성은 (111)면애 지배적이다가 (100)결정면이 점차 많아지는 양상을 나타내었다.

Co 및 Ti가 치환된 Layered perovskite의 SOFC 전극에 대한 적용성 연구 (Application of Layered Perovskites Substituted with Co and Ti as Electrodes in SOFCs)

  • In this study, the phase and electrochemical properties of Co and Ti substituted layered perovskites SmBaCo2-xTixO5+d (x=0.5, 0.7, 1.0, 1.1, 1.3, and 1.5) were analyzed, and their application as electrodes in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) were evaluated. After calcination at 1300℃ for 6 h, a single phase was observed for two compositions of the SmBaCo2-xTixO5+d oxide system, SmBaCoTiO5+d (x=1.0) and SmBaCo0.9Ti1.1O5+d (x=1.1). However, the phases of SmBaCoTiO5+d (SBCTO) and SmTiO3 coexisted for compositions with x≥1.3 (Ti content). In contrast, for compositions of x≤0.7, the SmBaCo2O5+d phase was observed instead of the SmTiO3 phase. To evaluate the applicability of these materials as SOFC electrodes, the electrical conductivities were measured under various atmospheres (air, N2, and H2). SBCTO exhibited stable semi-conductor electrical conductivity behavior in an air and N2 atmosphere. However, SBCTO showed insulator behavior at temperatures above 600℃ in a H2 atmosphere. Therefore, SBCTO may only be used as cathode materials. Moreover, SBCTO had an area specific resistance (ASR) value of 0.140 Ω·cm2 at 750℃.
