Sulphuric acid (H2SO4) leaching and hydrolysis were experimented for the recovery of titanum dioxide (TiO2) from the water-leached residue followed by soda-roasting spent SCR catalysts. Sulphuric acid leaching of Ti was carried out with leachate concentration (4~8 M) and the others were fixed (temp.: 70 ℃, leaching time: 3 hrs, slurry density: 100 g/L, stirring speed: 500 rpm). For recovering of Ti from the leaching solution, hydrolysis precipitation was conducted at 100 ℃ for 2 hours in various mixing ratio (leached solution:distilled water) of 1:9 to 5:5. The maximum leachability was reached to 95.2 % in 6 M H2SO4 leachate. on the other hand, the leachability of Si decreased dramatically 91.7 to 3.0 % with an increase of H2SO4 concentration. Hydrolysis precipitation of Ti was proceeded with leaching solution of 8 M H2SO4 with the lowest content of Si. The yield of precipitation increased proportionally with a dilution ratio of leaching solution. Moreover, it increased generally by adding 0.2 g TiO2 as a precipitation seed to the diluted leaching solution. Ultimately, 99.8 % of TiO2 can be recovered with the purity of 99.46 % from the 1:9 diluted solution.
In this study, NMO (Natural Manganese Ore), $MnO_2$, and $Mn_2O_3$ catalysts were used in the selective catalytic reduction process to remove nitrogen oxides (NOx) using $NH_3$ as a reducing agent at low temperatures in the presence of oxygen. In the case of the NMO (Natural Manganese Ore), it was confirmed that the conversion of nitrogen oxides in the stability test did not change even after 100 hours at 423 K. The Kinetics experiments were carried out within the range where heat and mass transfer were not factors. From a steady-state Kinetics study, it was found that the low-temperature SCR reaction was zero order with the respect to $NH_3$ and 0.41 ~ 0.57 order with the respect to NO and 0.13 ~ 0.26 order with the respect to $O_2$. As temperature increases, the reaction order decreases as a result of $NH_3$ and oxygen concentration. It was confirmed that the reaction between the $NH_3$ dissociated and adsorbedon the catalyst surface and the gaseous nitrogen monoxide (E-R model) and the reaction with the adsorbed nitrogen monoxide (L-H model) occur.
200-MW pulse modulators(total 11units) for the PLS linac employ the SCR phase control circuit. It controls 3-phase AC line voltage for the high-voltage DC power supply (DCPS, maximum of 25kVDC, 4.2A) which charges the pulse forming network(PFN). The PFN delivers 400kV, 500A, ESW $7.5{\mu}s$ pulse power to the 80-MW klystron amplifier tube. The SCR regulates 3-phase AC power and feeds to the high voltage transformer. Two different types of the transformer configurations namely ${\Delta}-{\Delta}$ and ${\Delta}-Y$, are alternatively installed to 11 modulator units for the suppression of harmonic noises. RC filters and reactors are also installed. Currently, approximately 110-kW of average AC power per unit is consumed at the normal operation level of the modulator with 30pps. This paper presents the operational characteristics of the high power pulse modulator, especially the experimental results of the AC line harmonic components generated by the operation of the high power pulse modulator to suppress the switching noises from the SCR and rectifying diode arrays.

Characteristics of an autothermal reformer at various operating parameters have been studied in this paper. Numerical method has been used, and simulation model has been developed for the analysis. Full Combustion reaction, Steam Reforming(SR) reaction, Water-Gas Shift(WGS) reaction, and Direct Steam Reforming(DSR) reaction are assumed as dominant chemical reactions in the autothermal reformer. Simulation results are compared with experimental results for code validation. Operating parameters of the autothermal reformer are inlet temperature, Oxygen to Carbon Ratio(OCR), Steam to Carbon Ratio(SCR), and Gas Hourly Space Veolcity(GHSV). SR reaction rate decreases with low inlet temperature. If OCR is increased, $H_2$ yield is increased but optimal point is suggested. WGS reaction is activated with high SCR. When GHSV is increased, reforming efficiency is increased but pressure drop may decrease the system efficiency.
In the present study, potassium and caesium doped Ag/$Al_2O_3$ catalysts were synthesized by simple wet impregnation method and evaluated for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx using methane. TEM analysis and diffraction patterns demonstrated the finely dispersed Ag particles. BET surface measurements reveal that the prepared materials have moderate to high surface area and the metal amount found from ICP analysis was well matching with the theoretical loadings. The synthesized K-Ag/$Al_2O_3$ and Cs-Ag/$Al_2O_3$ catalysts exhibited a promotional effect on deNOx activity in the presence of $SO_2$ and $H_2O$. The long-term isothermal studies at $550^{\circ}C$ under oxygen rich condition showed the superior catalytic properties of the both alkali promoted samples. The crucial catalytic properties of materials are attributed to NO adsorption properties detected by the NO TPD.

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is known as a very efficient method to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the catalyst performs reduction from nitrogen oxides (NOx) to nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O). The catalyst, which is one of the factors determining the performance of the nitrogen oxide (NOx) ruduction method, is known to increase catalyst efficiency as cell density increases. In this study, the reduction characteristics of nitrogen oxides (NOx) under various engine loads investigated. A 100CPSI(60Cell) catalysts was studied through a laboratory-sized simulating device that can simulate the exhaust gas conditions from the power generation engine installed in the training ship SEGERO. The effect of 100CPSI(60Cell) cell density was compared with that of 25.8CPSI(30Cell) cell density that already had NOx reduction data from the SCR manufacturing. The experimental catalysts were honeycomb type and its compositions and materials of V2O5-WO3-TiO2 were retained, with only change on cell density. As a result, the NOx concentration reduction rate from 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 88.5%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 0.99g/kwh satisfying the IMO Tier III NOx emission requirement. The NOx concentration reduction rate from 25.8CPSI(30Cell) was 78%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 2.00g/kwh. Comparing the NOx concentration reduction rate and emission of 100CPSI(60Cell) and 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts, notably, the NOx concentration reduction rate of 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 10.5% higher and its IMO specific NOx emission was about twice less than that of the 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts. Therefore, an efficient NOx reduction effect can be expected by increasing the cell density of catalysts. In other words, effects to production cost reduction, efficient arrangement of engine room and cargo space can be estimated from the reduced catalyst volume.

The selective catalytic reduction(SCR) of nitric oxide by ethane in the presence of oxygen was investigated on Cu-ZSM-5, Co-ZSM-5 and Ga-ZSM-5 catalysts over a range of 400, 450 and $500^{\circ}C$. The catalysts were prepared by ion-exchange method. The composition of the reactant gases were 1000 ppm of NO, 1000 ppm of $C_{2}H_{6}$ and 2.5% of $O_{2}$, and the reaction was conducted in a fixed-bed reactor at 1 atm. For the 20wt% Co-ZSM-5(50) catalyst, the NO conversion reached up to 100%, while the $C_2H_6$ conversion and the CO selectivity were about 50% and 25%, respectively, at $450^{\circ}C$. For the 20wt% Cu-ZSM-5(50) catalyst, the NO conversion and the C2H6 conversion were about 80% and 100%, respectively, but there was no CO produced. The metal ion-exchanged ZSM-5 catalysts exhibited a tendency to increase the NO conversion with the Si/Al ratio of the ZSM-5, that is, NO conversion was inversely proportional to the acidity of the catalysts. But, the effect of the acidity on NO conversion was not so large. From the XRD results of the catalysts before and after SCR reaction it was found that there was no structural change.

In this study, the activity and structural properties of catalysts prepared by mechanochemical method under dry condition were studied. A dry milling was used as a mechanochemical method. The precursors of vanadium were $NH_4VO_3$ and $V_2O_5$. The activity and characterization of the catalysts prepared by dry milling were compared with those prepared by impregnation. In addition, the correlation between the catalytic activity and the structural characteristics was observed through XRD, Raman, and $H_2$-TPR analysis. As a result, the monomeric vanadate species exhibited excellent redox characteristics, which were confirmed to be related to the catalytic activity.
DME is acronym of dimethyl ether, which is spotlighted as an ideal fuel to produce hydrogen due to its high hydrogen/carbon ratio, high energy density and easiness to carry. In this research, we calculated thermodynamic hydrogen (or syngas) yield from DME autothermal reforming and compared to other fuels. The reforming efficiency was about 80% above $700^{\circ}C$. Lower OCR has higher reforming efficiency but, it requires additional heat supply since the reactions are endothermic. SCR has no significant effect on the reforming efficiency. The optimized condition is $700^{\circ}C$, SCR 1.5, OCR 0.45 without additional heat supply. Comparing to other commercial gaseous fuels (methane and propane), DME has higher selectivity of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ than the others due to the oxygen atom in the molecule. To apply DME autothermal reforming to real system, a proper catalyst is required. Therefore, it is performed the experiment comparing various novel metal catalysts based on CGO. Experiments were performed at calculated condition. The composition of product was measured and reforming efficiency was calculated. The catalysts have similar efficiency at high temperature(${\sim}800^{\circ}C$) but, CGO-Ru has the highest efficiency at low temperature ($600^{\circ}C$).

A catalyst with CuO ceramic filter for simultaneous treatment of dust and HAP was prepared and characterized. Catalytic ceramic filter can not only potentially achieve the substantial savings in energy but provide with effective optimization and integration of process for simultaneous removal of SO$_2$, NO$_{x}$ and particulates from flue gases. Catalytic ceramic filters remove simultaneously particulates on exterior surface of filters and reduce NO to $N_2$ and $H_2O$ by SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process. Preparation of catalyst impregnated ceramic filter with disk shape (Ψ 50) follow the processing of alumino-silicate ceramic filter, support impregnation and catalyst impregnation (copper oxide). Preparation routes of alumino-silicate catalyst carrier suitable for production of catalytic filters practically were studied and developed using the sol-gel and colloidal processing, homogeneous precipitation and impregnation method. Characterization of the catalyst, catalyst carrier catalytic filter materials have been performed the using various techniques such as BET, XRD, TGA, SEM. Combination of the sol-gel and colloidal processing and impregnation method is recommended to prepare catalyst carriers economically for catalytic filter applications.s.
