The present study has been carried out to investigate the effect of Bactokil(made from didecyldimethyl ammonium chloride isopropanol and water) and Taipet-F (made from natural vitamin E, L-ascorbic acid, glyceride and gallic acid) on retarding lipid oxidation in boiled-dried anchovy. To process boiled-dried anchovy, boiled anchovy dried in cabinet drier $(dry-bulb\;temperature\;40^{\circ}C)$ for 1 hour were fronted with the Bactokil, the Taipet-F and mixture of Bactokil and Taipet-F, respectively. Anchovy fronted with chemicals were redried for 8 hours, packed in polyethylene film bag, and then stored at room temperature $(24{\pm}3^{\circ}C)$. These products were compared with control(untreated with chemicals) during storage. The changes in volatile basic nitrogen of each product was negligible during storage. The thiobarbituric acid and peroxide values of each product increased up to 10 days of storage, and then decreased. In color value of each product, L value increased, while n, b and ${\bigtriangleup}E$ values decreased during storage. The changes in brown pigment formation of each product increased up to final stage of storage. From the results of chemical analysis and sensory evaluation, the product treated with Taipet-F(0.5%, v/v) was the most effective on retarding lipid oxidation of the boiled -dried anchovy, followed by the product treated withthe mixture of Bactokil (0.04%, v/v) and Taipet-F (0.5%, v/v), the product treated with Bactokil(0.04%, v/v) and control, in the order named.
This study was done to analyze phonetic dysfunction and the effect of orthognathic surgery to phonation in the patients of mandibular prognathism. 20 persons were chosen as normal group and 20 patients of mandibular prognathism as abnormal for this study. 5 vowel sounds-'ㅏ(a)', 'ㅔ(e)', 'ㅣ(i)', 'ㅗ(o)', 'ㅜ(u)' and 14 consonant sounds-'ㄱ(g)', "ㄴ(n), 'ㄷ(d)', 'ㄹ(l)', 'ㅁ(m)', 'ㅂ(b)', 'ㅅ(s)', 'ㅇ(ng)', 'ㅈ(j)', 'ㅊ(ch)', 'ㅋ(k)', 'ㅌ(t)', 'ㅍ(p)', 'ㅎ(h)', were checked. We recorded these sounds in the period of preopration, postop. 12 months, postop. 24 months. A Formant ratio and a length of consonant time were studied with discriminant analysis. As a result of the study, the following conclusion were gained. 1. As a result of the analysis on vowel dysfunction patiensts of mandibular prognathism, more than 80% of men patients showed the dysfunction in prelingual sound 'ㅔ(e)' and 'ㅣ(i)'. More than 70% of women patients showed the dysfunction in all vowel. 2. One year later from the orthognathic surgery, men patients showed a marked improvement in 'ㅏ(a)'. The next were 'ㅗ(o)', 'ㅜ(u)' and 'ㅣ(i)'. Women patients showed a marked improvement in 'ㅜ(u)'. 3. Two year later from the orthognathic surgery, men patients showed a marked improvement in prelingual sound 'ㅔ(e)' and postlingual sound 'ㅗ(o)'. Women patients showed a marked improvement in 'ㅏ(a)'. More than 20% of patients showed the phonetic improvement compared with the condition of the postop. 12 months. 4. As a result of the analysis on consonant dysfunction patient of mandibular prognathism. more than 80% of men patients showed the dysfunction in lingual sound 'ㅅ(s)'. Most women patients showed the dysfunction in labial sound 'ㅁ(m)' and lingual sound 'ㄴ(n)'. More than 50% of patients showed the dysfunction in labial sound and lingual sound. 5. One year later from the orthognathic surgery. men patients showed a complete improvement in hard palatal sound 'ㅈ(j)'. The next were labial sound 'ㅂ(b)', lingual sound 'ㅅ(s)', soft palatal sound 'ㄱ(g)' and 'ㅋ(k)'. Women patients showed a marked improvement in soft palatal sound 'ㅇ(ng)' and 'ㄱ(g)'. 6. Two year later from the orthognathic surgery, all patients showed remarkable improvement in consonant sounds. except for labial sound 'ㅁ(m)', 'ㅍ(p)' and lingual sound 'ㄴ(n)'. The improvement ratio was increased as the time was going on compared with the condition of postop 12 months.
Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are known as intelligent methods for modeling the behavior of physical phenomena because of it is a soft computing technique and takes data samples rather than entire data sets to arrive at solutions, which saves both time and money. ANN is successfully used in the civil engineering applications which are suitable examining the complicated relations between variables. Functionally graded materials (FGMs) are advanced composites that successfully used in various engineering design. The FGMs are nonhomogeneous materials and made of two different type of materials. In the present study, the bending analysis of functionally graded material (FGM) beams presents on theoretical based on combination of mixed-finite element method, Gâteaux differential and Timoshenko beam theory. The main idea in this study is to build a model using ANN with four parameters that are: Young's modulus ratio (Et/Eb), a shear correction factor (ks), power-law exponent (n) and length to thickness ratio (L/h). The output data is the maximum displacement (w). In the experiments: 252 different data are used. The proposed ANN model is evaluated by the correlation of the coefficient (R), MAE and MSE statistical methods. The ANN model is very good and the maximum displacement can be predicted in ANN without attempting any experiments.
Vertical vibration tests were conducted using model footings of different size and mass resting on the surface of finite sand layer with different height to width ratios and underlain by either rigid concrete base or natural red-earth base. A comparative study of the ratio of predicted and observed natural frequency ratio of the finite sand stratum was made using the calculated values of equivalent stiffness suggested by Gazetas (1983) and Baidya and Muralikrishna (2001). Comparison of results between model footings resting on finite sand stratum underlain by the rigid concrete base and the natural red-earth base showed that, the presence of a finite base of higher rigidity increases the resonant frequency significantly. With increase in H/B ratio beyond 2.0, the influence of both the rigid concrete and natural red-earth base decreases. Increase in the contact area of the footing increases the resonant frequency of the model footings resting on finite sand stratum underlain by both the types of finite bases. Both the predicted and the observed resonant frequency ratio decreases with increase in force rating and height to width ratio for a given series of model footing.

Hierarchical modulation has been considered for achieving higher data rates in Terrestrial-DMB(T-DMB) systems. And for achieving a higher data rates transmission, the low-priority (LP) data, which is used to carry additional data, such as video data, audio data and textual data, should be perfectly decoded in a certain value of $E_b/N_o$. Unfortunately, the man-made noise badly affects the high-priority (HP) symbol, which is used to carry the conventional data in the existed T-DMB system; and since the advanced T-DMB system is proposed to fit for the legacy T-DMB receivers, the low-priority symbols in the hierarchical modulation are much worse affected by the neighbors, who are both in the same quadrant. Because of the feature that mentioned previously, the turbo code has been considered to deal with the LP data. And due to the degradation which caused by the shortened symbol distance, the error performance of LP data is not sufficient by only using the turbo code. In this paper, we propose a Reed-Solomon code used outside of turbo code, and with the turbo code, it becomes a concatenated code. In this paper, there are some simulation results, within the comparison of those performances, we can see how a Reed-Solomon code is utilized for degradation of error performance which is caused by the hierarchical constellation, and how to design a Reed-Solomon code which is suitable for improving the degradation of error performance.
New pyrochlore-type phases($A_2$$B_2$$O_{7}$) were synthesized in the systems: CaO-C$eO_2$-T$iO_2$, CaO-$UO_2$(T$hO_2$)-Z$rO_2$, CaO-$UO_2$(T$hO_2$)-$Gd_2$$O_3$-T$iO_2$-Z$rO_2$, 및 CaO-T$hO_2$-S$nO_2$. The starting materials were pressed with the pressure of 200~400 MPa and sintered at 1500~ 155$0^{\circ}C$ for 4~8 hours in air and at 1300~ 135$0^{\circ}C$ for 5 ~50 hours under oxygen atmosphere. The products were characterized using XRD, SEM/EDS and TEM. In the bulk compositions of CaCe$Ti_2$$O_{7}$, CaTh$Zr_2$$O_{7}$,($Ca_{0.5}$ Gd$Th_{0.5}$)(ZrTi)$O_{7}$) ($Ca_{0.5}$Gd$Th_{0.5}$)(ZrTi)$O_{7}$, ($Ca_{0.5}$G$dU_{0.5}$)(ZrTi)$O_{7}$ and CaTh$Sn_2$$O_{7}$ , pyrochlore was the major phase, together with other oxide phase $of_2$$O_{7}$ fluorite structure. In the samples with target compositions CaU$Zr_2$$O_2$및 $Ca_{0.5}$ G$dU_{0.5}$)$Zr_2$T$iO_{7}$ pyrochlore was not identified, but a fluorite-structured phase was detected. The formation factor as the stable phase depended on crystal chemical characteristics of the actinide and lanthanide elements of the system concerned.
Keratinocytes are first barrier against outer challenges on skin. However, it is still largely unknown about effective protectors against ultraviolet B (UVB), and oxidative stress in human keratinocyte, HaCaT cells. Inducible heme oxygenase (HO)-1 acts against oxidants that are thought to play a role in the pathogenesis of skin disorders. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of Portulaca oleracea 70% EtOH extracts against hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)-induced oxidative stress in human keratinocytes, HaCaT cells. P. oleracea 70% EtOH extracts showed the potent protective effects on H2O2-induced toxicity by induced the expression of HO-1 in human keratinocyte, HaCaT cells. Furthermore, P. oleracea 70 % EtOH extracts caused the nuclear accumulation of nuclear factor E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in human keratinocytes, HaCaT cells. In addition, we found that treatment with c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) inhibitor (SP600125) reduced P. oleracea 70% EtOH extracts-induced HO-1 expression, and JNK inhibitor (SP600125) also inhibited protective effects by P. oleracea 70% EtOH extracts. Therefore, these results suggest that P. oleracea 70 % EtOH extracts increases cellular resistance to H2O2-induced oxidative injury in human keratinocyte, HaCaT cells, presumably through JNK pathway-Nrf2-dependent HO-1 expression.
Tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) plays important roles in the brain after excitotoxic injury. This study was conducted to produce transgenic pig harboring human tissue plasminogene activator (htPA) gene. Recombinent htPA(rhtPA) genes containing bovine-β-casein promoter (bBC) were prepared for microinjection and testified the expression level of htPA protein from the Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell lines before NDA microinjection into the porcine pronuclei. Highly reliable packaged 64kbit ferroelectric memories with $0.8{\;}\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS ensuring ten-year retention and imprint at 125^{\circ}C$ have been successfully developed. These superior reliabilities have resulted from steady integration schemes free from the degradation, due to layer stress and attacks of process impurities. The resent results of research and development for ferroelectric memories at Hynix Semiconductor Inc. are summarized in this invited paper.
Using differential display reverse transcription technique, the present study attempted to isolate and characterize genes specifically expressed in cotyledons of Pharbitis nil Choisy cv. Violet during floral induction. A total of 107 bands specific to the inductive condition were initially obtained with 80 primer sets of 20 different arbitrary primers combined with 4 kinds of T12MN. In northern blot analysis with reamplified cDNAs as probes, three cDNAs were detected to be expressed specificcally in the induced cotyledon tissues, and designated PnFL-1, PnFL-2 and PnFL-3 , the size of which were 228 bp, 317 bp and 272 bp, respectively. A search for sequences similar to the decuced amino acid sequences was conducted using GenBank and EMBL database ; seequence encoded by PnFL-1 had 29% identity with the clone of Arabidopsis thaliana similiar to reverse trascriptase (Genbank Acc. N0.3047086), PnFL-2 shared 50% identity with hydroxiyproline-rich glycoprotein of Glycine max(GenBank Acc. No.347455), and PnFL-3 had 46% identity with TAMU 4. Thaliana genomic clone T23E16 (GenBank Acc. No.B67574). None of them was known gene in the plant system up to date, implying that the fragments may comprise parts of genes which are associated with the floral induction in Pharbitis nil.
