QoS-Guaranteed Realtime Multimedia Service Provisioning on Broadband Convergence Network(BcN) with IEEE 802.11e Wireless LAN and Fast/Gigabit Ethernet

  • In broadband convergence network(BcN), heterogeneous broadband wired & wireless subnetworks and various terminal equipments will be interconnected. In order to provide end-to-end realtime multimedia services on such heterogeneous networking environment, as a result, two major problems should be resolved: i) Multimedia session establishment & negotiation that adjusts the differences in the capability of multimedia data processing at the end terminal nodes, ii) quality of service(QoS)-guaranteed connection establishment or resource reservation with connection admission control(CAC) in each heterogeneous subnetworks along the path. The session layer signaling(e.g., SIP/SDP) should be extended for QoS negotiation, and must be tightly cooperating with network layer signaling or resource reservation with CAC function. In this paper we propose a session and connection management architecture for the QoS-guaranteed realtime multimedia service provisioning on BcN, with Q-SIP/SDP, resource reservation protocol with traffic engineering extension, and CAC functions. The detailed interaction scenario and related algorithms for QoS-guaranteed realtime multimedia session, resource reservation and connection establishment are explained and analyzed. From the experimental implementation of the proposed scheme on a small scale BcN testbed, we verified that the proposed architecture is applicable for the realtime multimedia service provisioning. We analyze the network performance and QoS parameters in detail.

백복령분말을 첨가한 밀가루 반죽의 물성특성 (Rheological Properties of Flour Dough Added Power of Poria Cocos Wolf)

  • 백복령분말의 첨가량에 따른 밀가루 반죽의 품질특성에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여 백복령분말을 $0{\sim}5%$의 비율로 첨가하여 반죽의 물리적 특성을 비교 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 백복령분말을 첨가한 Mixograph에서는 midline peak time는 분말첨가에 따라 $1{\sim}2%$에서는 증가하였고 $3{\sim}5%$에서는 대구조보다 감소하였다. Midline peak height는 대구조보다 모두 감소하였다. 주사현미경관찰은 백복령분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 기공이 크고 불균일하였다. Farinogragh 특성 중 반죽의 점조도와 수분 흡수율은 백복령분말의 첨가량이 증가할수록 증가하였고, 반죽 형성시간과 안정도는 감소하였다. 주사현미경에서는 백복령분말 첨가량이 증가할수록 기공이 거칠고 크게 나타났다.

  • Although several artificial disc designs have been developed for the treatment of discogenic low back pain and used clinically, biomechanical change with its implantation seldom studied. To evaluate the effect of artificial disc implantation on the biomechanics of lumbar spinal unit, nonlinear three-dimensional finite element model of L1-L5, S1 was developed and strain and stress of vertebral body and surrounding spinal ligaments were predicted. Intact osteoligamentous L1-L5, S1 model was created with 1-mm CT scan of a volunteer and known material property of each element were applied. This model also includes the effect of local muscles which was modeled with pre-strained spring elements. The intact model was validated with reported biomechanical data. Two models implanted with artificial discs, SB Charite or Prodisc, at L4/5 via anterior approach were also developed. The implanted model predictions were compared with that of intact model. Angular motion of vertebral body, force on spinal ligaments, facet joint contact force with $2\sim12$ Nm flexion-extension moment.

Effect of Rice Bran and Wood Charcoal on Soil Properties and Yield of Continuous Cropping of Red Pepper

  • To improve the soil properties of physical and microbial community rice bran and wood charcoal were applied in the continuously cultivated plastic film house soil. Soil physical properties were improved by application of rice bran and charcoal compared to chemical fertilizer application (control) by 8~14% in bulk density and 5~9% in soil porosity. Changes in the biological ratio indexes of fatty acids in the soils were detected depending on the inputted materials. Especially in application of rice bran including mixture with charcoal, much more fungi and less bacteria were detected and the ratio of fungi to bacteria was increased, suggesting the more organic carbon metabolically active in these treatments. The high ratio of aerobe to anaerobe suggested the better aerobic conditions were in the soil inputted wood charcoal. From these results, it is important and possible to select some materials for the organic pepper cultivation, which may improve the poor condition soil.

불확실 비선형 플랜트를 위한 포화 함수에 의한 새로운 강인한 연속 가변구조제어시스템 (A New Robust Continuos VSCS by Saturation Function for Uncertain Nonlinear Plants)

  • 본 연구에서는 수정된 상태변수 의존 비선형 형을 바탕으로 부정합조건 불확실성과 정합조건 외란을 갖는 비선형 시스템의 제어를 위한 새로운 둔감한 비선형 연속 가변구조제어기의 체계적인 설계를 제안한다. 부정합조건 불확실과 정합조건 외란 비선형 시스템을 상태변수 의존 비선형 시스템 형으로 표현한 후 체계적인 둔감한 새로운 제어기 설계를 한다. 대상 시스템의 확장을 위하여 비선형 시스템 함수의 불확정성을 상태변수 의존 항과 비의존 항 두 부분으로 나눈다. 본 비선형 제어는 제어 결과 동특성을 선형으로하기 위하여 그리고 슬라이딩 모드 존재조건을 쉽게 만족시키기 위하여 변환된 선형 슬라이딩 면을 선정한다. 선정된 슬라이딩 면 위에 슬라이딩 존재조건과 폐루프 지수 안정성을 만족하는 제어입력을 제안한다. 정리를 통하여 증명한다. 본 제어의 실용성을 위하여 가변구조제어의 내재된 특성인 제어입력의 불연속성을 극적으로 개선한다. 설계 예와 시뮬레이션 연구를 통하여 제안된 제어기의 유용성을 입증한다.

쌍곡선에서의 재킷 행렬 (Jacket Matrix in Hyperbola)

  • Jacket 행렬은 1984년 이문호 교수에 의해 소개되어 신호처리 및 코딩이론에 사용되는 $J^{\dagger}=[J_{ik}^{-1}]^T$인 행렬로서, Galois field F에서 $J^{\dagger}$가 J의 원소별 역행렬일 때 $JJ^{\dagger}=mI_m$의 특성을 갖는 $J=[J_{ik}]$$m{\times}m$ 정방행렬이다. 본 논문에서는 Jacket 행렬에 의해 고유 값으로 분해될 수 있는 정방행렬 $A_{2^n}$을 제안하였다. 특히 $A_2$와 그의 확장인 $A_3$ 행렬을 가지고 쌍곡선과 쌍곡면의 성질을 수정하는데 각각 적용할 수 있음을 보였다. 특히 쌍곡선이 n배의 정보량을 갖게 되면 $A_2$ 행렬의 EVD[7]를 이용하여 최종 행렬 $A_2^n$을 쉽게 계산할 수 있다. 또한 여기서 제안한 알고리즘을 가지고 컴퓨터 그래픽에서의 응용 프로그램과 수치해석에서도 이용될 수 있음을 보였다.

Effect of preharvest application of chitosan on the growth and quality of peach fruit (Prunus persica L.)

  • Chitosan with a natural antimicrobial property has been introduced to protect horticultural crops from diseases as an environmentally friendly method. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the pre-harvest application of chitosan on growth and quality during the late stage of fruit development and on the simulated marketing of the peach fruit (Prunus persica L.). The application of chitosan with calcium chloride ($100mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$) three times at one week intervals 4 weeks before the harvest significantly increased the fruit weight, changed the fruit shape, and reduced the fruit length/diameter ratio giving the peach fruits a round oblate shape. The calcium treatment contributed to enhancing or maintaining the storage potential by increasing the flesh firmness. However, at higher concentrations of $CaCl_2$, i.e., > $600mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$, the positive effects of the chitosan application were offset, and fruit growth was not affected by calcium alone. The application of the chitosan/calcium mixture delayed fruit softening; however, this effect was shortened when the storage temperature was $20^{\circ}C$ rather than $15^{\circ}C$. The internal quality of the fruit was profoundly affected by the concentration of calcium added to the chitosan, and delayed fruit maturation was observed at a higher concentration of calcium. The pre-harvest application of chitosan with calcium contributes to the enhancement of food safety by inhibiting the occurrence of diseases during postharvest handling. Considering the above results, chitosan has the potential to improve both the yield of peach fruits and their storability. Because chitosan can enhance the freshness and shelf-life of fresh produce, it is necessary to examine its effects on other horticultural crops.

일제시대 건설된 해양 콘크리트구조물의 물성 평가(영도대교) (The Property Evaluation of the Marine Concrete Structure Constructed in the Period of Japanese Occupancy (YoungDo Bridge))

  • 영도대교는 부산 최초의 연륙교로서 1934년 준공된 이후, 수차례의 보수보강 공사를 거쳤으며 2011년 이후 현재까지 확장 복원을 위하여 철거공사를 실시하고 있다. 본 조사연구의 목적은 영도대교 건설 당시의 교량 기술 및 재료적 특성 분석 함으로써 근대 구조에 사용된 콘크리트의 당시 재료적 특성을 파악하고 근대 교량문화유산의 보존 및 활용을 위한 기초적 자료를 구축하는 데 있다. 일련의 실험을 통하여 콘크리트 구성재료는 시멘트 : 세골재 : 굵은골재 비율이 부위에 따라 1 : 2 : 4 또는 1 : 3 : 6 인 것으로 밝혀졌고, 압축강도는 50~55MPa, 탄성계수는 25~35GPa의 범위로 나타났다. 역학적 물성의 편차가 10%이하인 점을 미뤄봐서 당시의 품질관리가 비교적 우수했던 것을 알 수 있었다. 중성화 깊이는 높은 상대습도로 상당히 낮은 값을 나타내었고, 염소이온 확산계수는 1.052e-12($m^2/s$)로서 현대 콘크리트와 비교하면 물시멘트비 35%에 상응하는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

High Performance Flexible Inorganic Electronic Systems

  • The demand for flexible electronic systems such as wearable computers, E-paper, and flexible displays has increased due to their advantages of excellent portability, conformal contact with curved surfaces, light weight, and human friendly interfaces over present rigid electronic systems. This seminar introduces three recent progresses that can extend the application of high performance flexible inorganic electronics. The first part of this seminar will introduce a RRAM with a one transistor-one memristor (1T-1M) arrays on flexible substrates. Flexible memory is an essential part of electronics for data processing, storage, and radio frequency (RF) communication and thus a key element to realize such flexible electronic systems. Although several emerging memory technologies, including resistive switching memory, have been proposed, the cell-to-cell interference issue has to be overcome for flexible and high performance nonvolatile memory applications. The cell-to-cell interference between neighbouring memory cells occurs due to leakage current paths through adjacent low resistance state cells and induces not only unnecessary power consumption but also a misreading problem, a fatal obstacle in memory operation. To fabricate a fully functional flexible memory and prevent these unwanted effects, we integrated high performance flexible single crystal silicon transistors with an amorphous titanium oxide (a-TiO2) based memristor to control the logic state of memory. The $8{\times}8$ NOR type 1T-1M RRAM demonstrated the first random access memory operation on flexible substrates by controlling each memory unit cell independently. The second part of the seminar will discuss the flexible GaN LED on LCP substrates for implantable biosensor. Inorganic III-V light emitting diodes (LEDs) have superior characteristics, such as long-term stability, high efficiency, and strong brightness compared to conventional incandescent lamps and OLED. However, due to the brittle property of bulk inorganic semiconductor materials, III-V LED limits its applications in the field of high performance flexible electronics. This seminar introduces the first flexible and implantable GaN LED on plastic substrates that is transferred from bulk GaN on Si substrates. The superb properties of the flexible GaN thin film in terms of its wide band gap and high efficiency enable the dramatic extension of not only consumer electronic applications but also the biosensing scale. The flexible white LEDs are demonstrated for the feasibility of using a white light source for future flexible BLU devices. Finally a water-resist and a biocompatible PTFE-coated flexible LED biosensor can detect PSA at a detection limit of 1 ng/mL. These results show that the nitride-based flexible LED can be used as the future flexible display technology and a type of implantable LED biosensor for a therapy tool. The final part of this seminar will introduce a highly efficient and printable BaTiO3 thin film nanogenerator on plastic substrates. Energy harvesting technologies converting external biomechanical energy sources (such as heart beat, blood flow, muscle stretching and animal movements) into electrical energy is recently a highly demanding issue in the materials science community. Herein, we describe procedure suitable for generating and printing a lead-free microstructured BaTiO3 thin film nanogenerator on plastic substrates to overcome limitations appeared in conventional flexible ferroelectric devices. Flexible BaTiO3 thin film nanogenerator was fabricated and the piezoelectric properties and mechanically stability of ferroelectric devices were characterized. From the results, we demonstrate the highly efficient and stable performance of BaTiO3 thin film nanogenerator.

연자육 분말을 첨가한 식빵 반죽의 물리적 특성 (Rheological Properties of White Pan Bread Dough Prepared with Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera) Seeds Powder)

  • 연자육 분말의 첨가량에 따른 식빵 반죽의 물리적 특성을 알아보기 위하여 연자육 분말을 첨가한 반죽의 팽창력, ferinogram, amylogram, extensogram, 반죽의 pH와 식빵의 외관 등을 조사하였다. 연자육 분말의 일반성분 함량은 수분 7.74%, 조단백질 20.15%, 조지방 2.11%, 조회분 4.34%, 조섬유소 2.78%이였다. 반죽의 팽창력 결과 대조구에 비해 연자육 분말 첨가구가 팽창력이 좋았으며, 반죽의 farinogram 특성은 연자육 분말 첨가량이 증가할 수 록 흡수율이 다소 증가하였고, 반죽도달시간은 대조구에 비해 다소 짧아졌다. 연자육 분말 첨가량의 증가에 따라 반죽형성 시간과 안정도는 짧아졌고 연화도는 커지는 경향을 보였다. Amylogram의 호화특성에서 최고점도온도의 경우 연자육 분말 첨가구와 대조구가 같았으며, 연자육 분말 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 최고점도는 증가하였다. Extensogram 특성은 연자육 분말 첨가량이 증가할 수 록 신장도는 감소하였고, 저항도는 증가하였으며 이에 따라 R/E 값이 증가하였다. 반죽 후 대조구의 pH는 6.06이었고, 연자육 분말 첨가구의 pH는 $6.19{\sim}6.21$였다. 발효시간 경과에 따른 대조구의 pH는 서서히 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, 연자육 분말 첨가구에서는 발효시간 90분까지는 서서히 낮아졌으나 90분 이후부터 pH가 급격히 낮아졌다. 이로써 연자육 분말의 첨가량이 식빵 제조용 반죽의 리올로지에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인 되었다.
