The total amount of graphite reserves in Korea is about 260 thousand tons. Graphite larks international competitiveness it is mined in only few mines, but recently the demand of portable electronic has increased. Therefore a research for manufacturing domestic high purity graphite is necessary because all of high purity graphite used electrode of 2nd batter depends on expensive importation. A preprocessing level for producing high purity graphite, flotation was conducted using microbubble column machine. In this research $D_{50}=10.314{\mu}m$ sample was used which was produced after grinding 29.50% F.C. primary crushing sample($D_{50}=69.393{\mu}m$) for 20 minutes through attrition mill. As a result using this sample, product above 95% F.C. with recovery over 90% was obtained with only after first stage process through the microbubble column.
The cell cultures and crude extracts of Bacillus sphaericus 1593 K-5 and its mutant Spo-Dl216 were respectively bioassayed against Culex pipiens var. pollens mosquito larvae. The B. sphaeriucs 1593 K-5 showed toxic activity against the larvae. LC$_{50}$ values (cells/$m\ell$) was 2.6$\times$10$^2$. Also the LC$_{50}$ ($\mu\textrm{g}$ Protein/$m\ell$) of the crude extract was 10.26. However, B. sphaericus Spo-Dl216 didn't show toxic activity against the larvae. The soluble cytoplasmic toxin in broken B. sphaeriucs 1593k-5 cells was partially purified by gel permeation chromatography and ion exchange chromatography. Among the fractions of the gel permeation chromatography only a single fraction was found to be toxic. LC$_{50}$ values ($\mu\textrm{g}$ protein/$m\ell$) of the active fraction was 0.182. The active fraction of the gel permeation was subjected to ion exchange chromatography. Only a single fraction showed toxic activity and its LC$_{50}$ values ($\mu\textrm{g}$ protein/$m\ell$) was 0.02..02.

In this paper, a Ku-band 50-W internally-matched power amplifier is designed and fabricated using a CGHV1J070D GaN HEMT from Wolfspeed. To obtain the same magnitudes and phases for the output signals of the unit transistor cells, which constitute a power transistor, a slit pattern and an asymmetric T-junction are used in the input and output matching circuits. The internally-matched power amplifier is fabricated on two different thin-film substrates with relative dielectric constants of 40 and 9.8, respectively, and is measured under pulsed conditions with a pulse period of $330{\mu}s$ and a duty cycle of 6%. The measured results show a maximum output power of 50~73 W, a drain efficiency of 35.4~46.4%, and a power gain of 4.5~6.5 dB from 16.2 to 16.8 GHz.
Objective: The present research was conducted to evaluate the interactive effect of dietary concentration of calcium (Ca) and 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 (25OHD3) on the performance, blood composition and digestibility of laying hens. Methods: A total of 540 Hy-line brown laying hens aged 61 to 70 weeks were randomly allotted in a 3×3 factorial arrangement, consisting of three levels of 25OHD3 (0, 25, and 50 ㎍/kg) and three levels of Ca (3.5%, 4.0%, and 4.5%). All diets had basal concentration of 3,000 IU/kg of vitamin D3 including the 2,800 kcal/kg of metabolic energy and 16% of crude protein. Results: The results showed that interactive effect (p<0.05) between Ca and 25OHD3 was such that dietary 25OHD3 linearly increased interleukin-6 at all levels of Ca inclusion. Interaction (p<0.05) occurred with the highest parathyroid hormone in laying hens that received dietary concentration of Ca (3.5%) with 25OHD3 (50 ㎍/kg), and Ca (4.0%) with 25OHD3 (50 ㎍/kg). Egg production and egg weight significantly (p<0.05) increased in the 4.5% Ca group compared to the 3.5% to 4.0% Ca groups. Egg shell thickness and tibia bone length also increased (p<0.05) in groups fed a high-Ca diet (4.0% to 4.5%). Phosphorus digestibility significantly (p<0.05) increased along with dietary Ca level. Among the tested 25OHD3 groups, higher (p<0.05) egg production and tibia thickness were present in hens fed 50 ㎍/kg of 25OHD3. Furthermore, Ca digestibility serum Ca and 25OHD3 were significantly increased in group offered 50 ㎍/kg of 25OHD3. Conclusion: The results gathered in this study indicate that dietary concentrations of 4.0% to 4.5% Ca and 50 ㎍/kg 25OHD3 improve the performance of hens from 61 to 70 weeks of age.

This paper discussed on the directive gain improvement method of the U-type ultra wide-band(UWB) planar patch antenna model with CPW feeding. For directive gain improvement, the U-type printed patch antenna model with CPW feeding is reconstructed as a microstrip structure by adding a reflection plane with aperture slot. The reflection coefficient of the reconstructed antenna is less than -6.5 dB(VSWR < 3.3) to the characteristic impedance of $50.08{\Omega}$ and showed the directive radiation patterns with the directive gain of 7.5 dBi ~ 10.1 dBi, the front-back ratio of 17.8 dB ~ 28.7 dB and the range of -3dB radiation angle over ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ to the main beam direction of ${\theta}=0^{\circ}$.
The mode of transglycosylation reaction observed during the action of low-molecular-weigh $\beta$-D-glucosidase ($\beta$-D-glucoside glucohydrolase, EC3.2.1.21) purified from Trichoderma koningii ATCC 26113 was investigated using $^{1}H$-NMR spectroscopy. The enzyme was purified by the series of procedures including ammonium sulfate precipitation, and fractionations by column chromatographies on Bio-Gel P-150, DEAE-Sephadex A-50, and SP-Sephadex C-50. The final purification was performed by the band eluation after preparative polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The enzyme showed its molecular size of 78,000 through the analysis of sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and its isoelectric point of 5.80 through the analysis of analytical isoelectric focusing. The H-1 proton resonances were analyzed. After the reaction of the enzyme with cellobiose, the reaction products were separated by high performance liquid chromatography using refractive index detector. H-1 resonances of the products were consisted with those of gentiobiose [$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl--(1,6)-D-glucopyranose], and cellotriose [$\beta$-D glucopyranosyl-(1,4)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl]-(1,4)-D-glucopyranose] with minor resonances of sophorose [$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1,2)-D-glucopyranose], respectively.

Modern communication systems employ wideband antennas with circular polarization (CP) radiation. In this work, asymmetric modified bow-tie (ABT) and symmetric modified bow-tie (SBT) slotted circularly polarized single-point probe-fed circular patch antennas with dimensions of $40mm{\times}40mm$ for wideband applications are proposed. A 10 dB RL bandwidth of 350 MHz with CP, 3 dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth of 100 MHz, peak gain of 4.9 dBic, and 10 dB RL bandwidth of 530 MHz with CP, 3 dB AR bandwidth of 140 MHz, peak gain of 5 dBic are obtained for ABT and SBT slotted circular patch antennas, respectively. The proposed SBT slotted patch is scaled up and down to $50mm{\times}50mm$ and $30mm{\times}30mm$, respectively. The proposed scaled-up version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 340 MHz and 80 MHz, with a peak gain of 5 dBic. The scaled-down version offers 10 dB RL and 3 dB AR bandwidths of 710 MHz and 180 MHz, with a peak gain of 5.25 dBic. These prototypes are suitable to work in IEEE 802.11a WLAN, ISM, and IEEE 802.11ac applications. The measured and simulated results are then discussed and compared.

In this study, the antibacterial and antioxidative activities of Epimedium koreanum Nakai were investigated for applications as cosmetic ingredients. Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of fraction-bacterium, that showed high antibacterial activity from disc diffusion assay on human skin pathogens, were tested. The ethyl acetate fraction on Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Propionibacterium acnes and 50% ethanol extract on S. aureus exhibited higher antibacterial activities than methyl paraben, well known as a preservative. The DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) scavenging activities of 3 fractions of E. koreanum Nakai were lower than (+)-${\alpha}$-tocopherol, known as a typical antioxidant. From the results of the scavenging activities of various ROS generated in $Fe^{3+}-EDTA/H_2O_2$ systems ($OSC_{50}$), 50% ethanol extract ($OSC_{50}=2.46{\pm}0.06{\mu}g/ml$) and aglycone fraction ($OSC_{50}=1.45{\pm}0.02{\mu}g/ml$) showed high activities similar to L-ascorbic acid ($OSC_{50}=1.50{\pm}0.85{\mu}g/ml$), used as reference. The cellular protective effects (${\tau}_{50}$) on photohemolysis by $^1O_2$ generated by photosensitization reaction were tested. The cellular protective effect of 50% ethanol extract (${\tau}_{50}=37.0{\pm}0.3$ min) was similar to (+)-${\alpha}$-tocopherol (${\tau}_{50}=38.0{\pm}1.8$ min), used as reference. In particular, the ${\tau}_{50}$ of aglycone fraction results were $165.9{\pm}7.2$ min. This is a high cellular protective effect, more than 4 times that of (+)-${\alpha}$-tocopherol. These results indicate that E. koreanum Nakai extract, and its fractions, could be utilized as a cosmetic ingredient possessing antibacterial and antioxidative activities.
