  • This paper is a basic study to improve floor impact noise of reinforced concrete slabs. Considering the case where thickness differences occur due to construction, changes in sound insulation characteristics were analyzed when the cross section of a reinforced concrete slab was restored with mortar. The houses subject to analysis were divided into two types, 84 type and 59 type, with different floor plans. When pre-mortaring was done with heavy mortar to restore the cross section on the reinforced concrete slab, the case was when pre-mortaring was done with the reinforced concrete slab alone and with general mortar. Compared with, the difference between vibration acceleration level and sound pressure was measured. As a result of measuring the vibration acceleration level of the slab after pouring the mortar, the CS mortar was 66.4 dB and the ES mortar was 66.1 dB at 84 type 63 Hz, which was more than 2 dB lower than that of regular mortar. In addition, compared to the reinforced concrete slab alone, CS mortar was reduced by 5.5 dB and ES mortar was reduced by 4.6 dB, showing relatively excellent values. As for the floor impact sound pressure, the 84B type was similar at 63 Hz for CS mortar and general mortar at 67.3 dB, and the reduction compared to the reinforced concrete slab alone was 3.6 dB for CS mortar, 2.7 dB for ES mortar, and 2.7 dB for general mortar was reduced by 1.4 dB. By pouring mortar to compensate for the thickness of the reinforced concrete slab, the vibration acceleration level and floor impact noise were reduced, and when a heavy mortar using copper smelting slag fine aggregate was used, relatively excellent performance was found.

  • Objective: The objective of this experiment was to compare the effects of adding 130 mg/kg Cu from either copper sulfate (CS) or tribasic copper chloride (TBCC) on growth performance, mineral deposition in tissues, and the excretion in feces of pigs as well as changes in the mineral contents in tissues and feces when the supplemental Cu level was decreased from 130 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg. Methods: A total of 72 pigs ($32.6{\pm}1.2kg$) were randomly assigned to a CS diet or a TBCC diet with 6 pens per treatment. The trial lasted 102 d and included 3 phases (phase 1, 1 to 30 d; phase 2, 31 to 81 d; and phase 3, 82 to 102 d). The supplemental levels of Cu in the 2 treatments were 130 mg/kg in phase 1 and 2 and 10 mg/kg in phase 3. Results: The results showed that pigs fed the CS diet tended to have higher average daily gain than pigs fed the TBCC diet during d 1 to 81 (p<0.10). Compared with CS, TBCC increased the activities of aspartate transaminase (AST), ceruloplasmin, and superoxide dismutase in serum on d 30 (p<0.05). The TBCC decreased the Cu level in the liver on d 81 (p<0.05) and increased the Mn level in the liver on d 102 (p<0.05). The concentration of Cu in feces sharply decreased when the supplemental Cu level in diet changed from 130 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg in both diets (p<0.05). Conclusion: The result suggested that TBCC and CS had no significant difference on growth performance but TBCC had higher activities of AST and antioxidant enzymes and lower liver Cu than CS when pigs fed diets with 130 mg Cu /kg diet.

  • Ceria ($CeO_2$) was used to scavenge free radicals which attack the membrane in the polymer electrolyte membrane water electrolysis (PEMWE) circumstance and to increase the duration of the membrane. In order to improve the electrochemical, mechanical and electrocatalytic characteristics, engineering plastic of the sulfonated polyether ether ketone (SPEEK) as polymer matrix was prepared in the sulfonation reaction of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) and the organic-inorganic blended composite membranes were prepared by sol-gel casting method with loading the highly dispersed ceria and cesium-substituted phophomolybdic acid(Cs-MoPA) with cross-linking agent contents of 0.01mL. In conclusion, CL-SPEEK/$Cs_{(2.5)}$-MoPA/ceria(1%) membrane showed the optimum results such as 0.1095S/cm of proton conductivity at $80^{\circ}C$, 2.906meq./g-dry-membrane of ion exchange capacity and mechanical characteristics, and 49.73MPa of tensile strength which were better than Nafion 117 membrane.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the sensory and nutritional properties of oyster Crassostrea gigas gratin with cream sauce (OG-CS) and to compare with commercial seafood gratin with cheese (control). The proximate composition (%, w/w) of OG-CS was 61.8 of moisture, 8.5 of protein, 16.1 of lipid, 1.2 of ash, 12.4 of carbohydrate, of which the moisture was lower and protein, lipid, ash, and carbohydrate values were higher than those of the control. Based on the results of sensory evaluation by panel members, OG-CS was superior to the control for all parameters, including taste, flavor, texture, nutrition, and overall acceptance. The total amino acid content of OG-CS (7.33 g/100 g) was higher than that of the control (5.20 g/100 g). The major amino acids of OG-CS were glutamic acid (18.8%), proline (9.8%), and leucine (8.2%). The mineral levels of OG-CS were 134.5 mg/100 g for calcium, 164.9 mg/100 g for potassium, 0.8 mg/100 g for iron, and 4.5 mg/100 g for zinc, which were all higher than those of the control. The major fatty acids of OG-CS were 12:0 (28.2%), 16:0 (24.9%), and 14:0 (13.6%), which were the same as those in the control.

  • In the last decade, nuclear medicine appears to be a good choice of medicine. 58Co, 99Mo, 99Tc, 99Re, 133Xe and 186Re are very important radionuclides for nuclear medicine. In this study, the excitation functions of 58Ni (n, p) 58Co, 99Tc (n, p) 99Mo, 99Ru (n, p) 99Tc, 131Xe (n, p) 131I, 133Cs (n, p) 133Xe and 186Os (n, p) 186Re nuclear reactions were calculated at neutron energies between 1 and 20 MeV using TALYS 1.95 and EMPIRE 3.2 nuclear codes. Furthermore, the cross sections were calculated with the empirical formula derived in our past study at 14-15 MeV. The obtained results were compared with the measured values in EXFOR library, and with the evaluated data of (JENDL-4.0/HE, JEFF-3.3, TENDL-2019, ENDF/B-VIII.0, IRDFF-II, JENDL/ImPACT-18). The results are in good agreement with those of the evaluated data libraries and experimental results and indicates that these radioisotopes can be produced by smaller cyclotrons.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the humification grade of compost, based on physico-chemical property and phyto-toxicity during the composting with three kinds of livestock manures and saw dust. The ratios of the compost, which was mixed with pig manure(P) and sawdust(S) were 4 : 6(PS-1), 5 : 5(PS-2) and 6 : 4(PS-3); poultry manure(PO) and sawdust(S) were 4 : 6(POS-1), 5 : 5(POS-2) and 6 : 4(POS-3); cow manure(C) and sawdust(S) were 4 : 6(CS-1), 5 : 5(CS-2) and 6 : 4(CS-3) by volume to volume, and they were decomposed for 60 days. In the result, the temperature in all treatments during composting rapidly increased above $65.4^{\circ}C$, and then gradually decreased to around $40^{\circ}C$. At 60 day, after the treatment, pH 5.9 ~ 8.0 at the incipient stage increased to 7.6 ~ 8.5, and the C/N ratio was 13.8 ~ 21.1 at the final composting stage. Germination Index(G.I.) showed in the range of 75.1 ~ 94.6 in all treatments at day 60. Therefore, it is likely recommended to take the best humification grade when the temperature maintains above $65^{\circ}C$ longer than a day at minimum, in the range of pH 6.5 ~ 8.5 for the final compost, under 20 of C/N ratio, and G.I. above 80. The level of G.I. above 80 should be the mature compost which could be used in the field without gas demage to crops.

  • In this research, a radiation detection backpack to be used discreetly or by a wide range of users was developed using array silicon-photomultiplier (SiPM) and CsI (Tl), and its characteristics were evaluated. The R-squared value, which indicates the responsiveness of a detector based on the signal intensity, was determined to be 0.981, indicating a good linear responsivity. The energy resolutions for gamma radiation energies of Co-57 (122 keV), Ba-133 (356 keV), Cs-137 (662 keV), and Co-60 (1332 keV) were found to be 13.40, 10.50, 6.77, and 3.16%, respectively. These results confirm good energy resolution characteristics. Furthermore, in the case of mixed sources, the gamma radiation peaks were readily distinguishable, and the R-squared value for energy linearity was calculated to be 0.999, demonstrating an exceptional energy linearity. Further research based on the results of this study would enable the commercialization of lightweight SiPM-based wireless radiation detection backpacks that can be used for longer durations by replacing the photomultiplier tube, which is mainly used as the optical sensor in existing radiation detection backpacks.

  • Nargenicin $A_1$ is a 28-membered polyketide macrolide, with antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, produced by Nocardia sp. CS682. In this study, the production of nargenicin $A_1$ was improved by enhancing the supply of different biosynthetic precursors. In Nocardia sp. CS682 (KCTC11297BP), this improvement was ~4.62-fold with the supplementation of 30 mM methyl oleate, 4.25-fold with supplementation of 15mM sodium propionate, and 2.81-fold with supplementation of 15 mM sodium acetate. In Nocardia sp. metK18 and Nocardia sp. CS682 expressing S-adenosylmethionine synthetase (MetK), the production of nargenicin $A_1$ was improved by ~5.57-fold by supplementation with 30 mM methyl oleate, 5.01-fold by supplementation with 15 mM sodium propionate, and 3.64-fold by supplementation with 15 mM sodium acetate. Furthermore, supplementing the culture broth of Nocardia sp. ACC18 and Nocardia sp. CS682 expressing the acetyl-CoA carboxylase complex (AccA2 and AccBE) with 30 mM methyl oleate, 15 mM sodium propionate, or 15 mM sodium acetate resulted in ~6.99-, 6.46-, and 5.58-fold increases, respectively, in nargenicin $A_1$ production. Our overall results showed that among the supplements, methyl oleate was the most effective precursor supporting the highest titers of nargenicin $A_1$ in Nocardia sp. CS682, Nocardia sp. metK18, and Nocardia sp. ACC18.
