Al-doped Uvarovite 안료의 합성과 특성 (Synthesis and Characterization of Al-doped Uvarovite Green Pigments)

  • Uvarovite Garnet is green pigment prepared by using $Cr_2O_3$, CaO and $SiO_2$ which are widely used in ceramic industry. The synthesis of above pigment was carried out by mixing $K_2Cr_2O_7$, $SiO_2$ and $CaCO_3$ as formulated and then firing at $1000{\sim}1200^{\circ}C$. To investigate the optimum synthesis condition of the Uvarovite Garnet. it was prepared by using CaO to replace $CaCO_3$, $CaF_2$ and $CaCl_2$. To get green brighter color, $Al^{3+}$ was substituted for $Cr^{3+}$. They were characterized by X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and SEM analysis. When the pigments were applied to lime glazes (6 wt%), color parameters of Uvarovite Garnet showed the $L^*$=40.99, $a^*$=-16.23 and $b^*$=17.04.

  • 본 연구에서 식이중 CrMet 보충이 비만지수 및 지질 대사에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사한 결과 실험군의 초기 체중은 비슷한 수준이었지만 CrMet 보충으로 최종 체중이 감소하는 경향을 보였고 이로 인해 CrMet 첨가시 비만지수 및 체지방 함량이 유의적으로 감소하였다(p<0.05). 혈청 total cholesterol은 CrMet 첨가시 69.22 $\pm$3.44 mg/㎗ 로 고지방군과 비교해 낮았으며(p<0.05), HDL cholesterol은 CrMet 보충으로 증가되었으며 HTR 지수도 높았다(p<0.05). 결과적으로 CrMet 보충은 체지방량과 혈청중 total cholesterol을 감소시키고 HDL cholesterol을 증가시킨다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

자동차배기관용 페라이트계 스테인레스강의 고온염부식에 미치는 Mo, Ti, Nb 원소의 영향 (Effect of Mo, Ti, Nb on the hot salt corrosion behavior of ferritic stainless steels for automotive exhaust system)

  • The steel for automotive exhaust system needs a good corrosion resistance at the atmosphere of high temperature NaCl. Effect of the alloying elements Me, Ti, Nb on the NaCl induced hot corrosion behavior was investigated at the temperatures between 55$0^{\circ}C$ and 75$0^{\circ}C$ for 18Cr ferritic stainless steels. The weight loss by corrosion has increased linearly with corrosion cycle time, and the corrosion rate has accelerated at higher temperature. The alloying of Mo significantly improved corrosion resistance of the steel and the effect was more pronounced at higher temperature. The addition of alloying elements Ti, Nb have also shown improved corrosion resistance by formation of Ti(C,N) or Nb(C, N) precipitates.

  • 일반식을 $[N(CH_3)(CH_2)_2(Bm-R)_2]CrCl_3$ [여기에서 Bm = benzimidazolyl, R = H (3a); -Me(3b); -Bn(3c)]으로 나타낼 수 있는 일련의 세 다리 dibenzimidazolyl 리간드를 갖는 크롬(III) 착물을 합성, 메틸알루미녹산으로 활성화시켜 이를 부타디엔의 입체규칙성 중합을 통해 trans-1,4-polybutadiene을 제조하였다. 크롬 착물의 부타디엔 중합 활성은 리간드의 구조에 따라 달라졌으며, 활성은 3a > 3c > 3b 순으로 낮아졌다. 모든 착물을 이용하여 제조된 폴리부타디엔의 미세구조를 조사한 결과 거의 완벽한 trans-1,4 구조를 보였으며, 분자량도 비교적 높게 나타났다.

Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo강에 대한 Inconel 690 오버레이 용접부에서의 고온균열의 발생거동 (Hot Cracking Behavior in Inconel 690 Overlay Welds on Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo Steel for Pressure Vessels)

  • In order to clarify hot cracking phenomena occurred in Inconel 690 welds and it's prevention, in this study, the cracking behavior and the influence of welding variables on cracking in Inconel 690 overlay welds on Mn-Ni-Cr-Mo steel(SA 508 cl.3) for pressure vessel were investigated by using mock-up test. The main results are as follows: The cracks in Inconel 690 overlay welds were mainly generated near the start and the end part of welding beads adjacent to STS 309L welded outside of Inconel 690 welds. Most of the cracks showed typical solidification crack, and also it was assumed that there was possibility of liquation cracking in HAZ. The existence of Nb constituents or concentration of Nb was recognized on the fracture facets of the solidification cracks in the welds by SMAW. Therefore Nb was considered to be the main factor of the solidification cracking. As the weld heat input was more increased and the weld bead length was longer, the extent of cracking was more increased. Moreover the extent of cracking was considerably decreased by changing of welding sequence to the start and the end part of welds. Hot cracking in welds by GTAW was considerably decreased as compared with that of SMAW. And cracks were well generated in the Inconel 690 overlay welds adjacent to 575 309L welds. This means that the hot cracking susceptibility of Inconel 690 welds was largely varied by chemical components and/or compositions of filter metals, base metals and neighboring welds.

진해만 퇴적물의 퇴적속도와 중금속 오염 (Pollution of Heavy Metals and Sedimentation Rates in Sediment Cores from the Chinhae Bay, Korea)

  • In the Chinhae Bay, Korea, sedimentation rates and sedimentary record of anthropogenic metal loads were determined by $^{210}Pb$ dating and heavy metal analysis of four sediment cores . The sedimentation rates varied from 0.16g/$cm^2$/yr(3.1mm/yr) at Sta. Ct, located within narrow waterway to 0.24g/$cm^2$/yr(4.8mm/yr) at Sta. Cl, located in Haengam Bay. Maximum contents of Mn, Zn, Cu and Cr were observed at Sta. C2 located near the mouth of Masan Bay, while minimum contents were observed at Sta. CB. Mn/Fe ratios at Sta. C2 and Sta. C4 showed gradually increasing and decreasing downward, respectively, in the upper layer of sediment cores. This suggests that Mn may be diagenetically redistributed in highly reduced environment. At Sta. C2, the concentrations of Zn and Cu began to increase from 1920s by anthropogenic input and have been remarkablely increasing since mid 1960s. At Sta. C3, located near Sungpo, anthropogenic input of these two elements has also slightly increased after 1970s. However, pollution of these two elements was not significant in Haengam Bay(Sta. Cl) and Chiljun watenway(Sta. C4). The pollution of Co, Ni and Cr was not remarkable in all core samples except surface sediment of Sta. C2. The total input of anthropogenic Zn and Cu since 1920s was estimated to be 28∼792 ㎍/cm2 and 0∼168㎍/cm2, respectively. Sta. C2 showed remarkablely higher values relative to other stations: anthropogenic loads of Zn and Cu constituted 27% and 29% of the total sedimentary inventories at the present day, respectively. Fe, Ni, Cr and Co contents showed good correlation(r>0.8) with each other. Anthropogenic Zn and Cu also showed a very good positive correlation(>0.9). However, correlation between these two group of element was quite scattered, indicating different sources and geochemical behaviors.

$Fe_3O_4$와 Chloroprene Rubber (CR)를 기초로한 탄성 전도체의 제조 및 특성연구 (Preparation and Characterization of Elastomeric Conductor based on Magnetite and Chloroprene Rubber)

  • 본 연구에서는 $FeCl_2{\cdot}4H_2O,\;(CH_2)_6N_4$ (hexamethylene tetramine) 그리고 $NaNO_2$로부터 $Fe_3O_4$ (magnetite)를 제조하고 결정성 CR고무에 배합하여 전도성 충전제의 함량이 물성에 미치는 효과와 전기전도도 (${\sigma}$)의 온도 의존성을 조사하였다. 최소 최적 혼합비(percolation threshold, $P_c$) 개념이 본 연구에서 제조한 전도성 입자가 충전된 복합체에 적용되며, 혼합물내 $Fe_3O_4$의 분율이 27%를 초과할 때 전기전도도가 급격히 증가함을 확인하였다. 전기전도도의 온도 의존성은 $P_c$ 또는 그 이하에서 열적으로 활성화되며 magnetite가 CR 고무의 강화 및 전도성 충전제로서의 역할을 할 수 있음을 조사하였다. 또한, 50 phr의 magnetite가 충전된 복합체가 최적의 물리적 가교점으로 인하여 가장 우수한 인장강도와 파단시 신장율을 보였으며 모듈러스가 magnetite 의 강화효과 및 블랜드물의 가황 토오크 곡선으로부터 얻은 점도와 관련이 있음을 확인하였다.

오스템퍼링한 구상점연주철의 부식환경중의 마멸특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wear Characteristics of Austempered Ductile Cast Iron in Corrosive Environments)

  • This paper is studied to know corrowive wear characteristics of austempered ductile cast ironin corrosive environments against mating SM45C hardened two test pieces in distilled water and NaCl aqueous solution. The corrosive wear mechanism was investigated by scanning electron microscopy and retained austenite volume fraction was investigated by X-ray diffractometer. The experimental result show that the corrosive wear characteristics depend largely on the $\textrm{Fe(OH)}_{3}$which is influenced by the critical sliding distance $L_{cr}$ and $L_{cr}$ shorted with increasing NaCl concentration. It was found that the carbides in matrix have a significant effect on their corrosive wear resisance and the fine acicular bainite showed corrosive wear resistance stronger than that of the coarse acicular and platelet bainite. From above results the model of corrosive wear mechanism in corrosive environments is proposed.

Synthesis, characterization, and biological significance of mixed ligand Schiff base and alizarin dye-metal complexes

  • This study reports the synthesis of a bi-dentate Schiff base ligand (L), 7-(2-((2-formylbenzylidene) amino)-2-phenylacetamido)-3-methyl-8-oxo-5-thia-1-azabicyclo[4.2.0]oct-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid, prepared from phthalaldehyde and cephalexin antibiotic. The synthesized Schiff base ligand (L) and the secondary ligand alizarin (Az) are used to prepare the new complexes [M(Az)2(L)] and [Cr(Az)2(L)]Cl, where M = Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II). The mode of bonding of the Schiff base has been characterized by UV-Visible, FT-IR, Mass, 1H-, and 13C-NMR spectroscopic techniques, and micro elemental analysis (CHNS). The complexes were characterized using UV-Vis, FT-IR, molar conductance, magnetic moment, and thermal analysis (TG/DTG). The molar conductance data revealed that the complexes are non-electrolytes except for [Cr(L)(Az)2]Cl, which is an electrolytic type 1:1. The Schiff base and its complexes have been tested for their biological activity against two strains of bacteria and one fungus. When screened against gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, the Az and L ligands and their complexes showed potential antimicrobial activity.
