$\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ 박막 센서의 환원성 가스감지특성 (Sensing Properties of $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ Thin Film Gas Sensor to Reducing Gases)

  • Sensing properties of $\alpha$-Fe2O3 thin film to reducing gases such as CHx and CO were systematically examined after deposition on Al2O3 substrate by PECVD(Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition)technique. Microstructure of deposited $\alpha$-Fe2O3 thin film showed the porous island structure. This specimen was annealed at 450, 550, $650^{\circ}C$ to enhance the gas sensing properties and investigated in terms of CO and C4H10 concentration from 500ppm to 3,000 ppm at operating temperature of 35$0^{\circ}C$ The gas sensitivity(%) to C4H10 measured at the operating temperature of 35$0^{\circ}C$ was 98.24 (highest sensitivity) 69.51 to CO and 2% to CH4 respectviely.

Chemical Leaching of Non-Equilibrium Al(Fe-Co) Powder Produced by Rod Milling

  • We report on the formation and chemical leaching of non-equilibrium $Al_{0.6}(Fe_{75}Co_{25})$ alloy produced by rod milling. X-ray diffractometry, transmission electron microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, scanning electron microscopy, and vibrating sample magnetometry were used to characterize the as-milled and leached specimens. After 400 h, only the $Al_{0.4}Fe_{0.6}$ peak of the body-centered cubic type was present in the XRD pattern. The entire rod milling process could be divided into three different stages of milling: agglomeration, disintegration, and homogenization. The saturation magnetization, $M_s$ decreased with increased milling time, the $M_s$ of the powders before milling was about 113.8 emu/g, the $M_s$ after milling for 400 h was about 11.55 emu/g. Leaching of the Al in KOH of the Al at room temperature from the as-milled powders did not induce any significant change in the diffraction pattern. After the leached specimen had been annealed at $600^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour, the nanoscale crystalline phases were transformed into the bcc Fe, cubic Co, and $CoFe_2O_4$ phases. On cooling the specimen from 85$0^{\circ}C$, the degree of magnetization increased slightly, then increased sharply at approximately 364.8$^{\circ}C$, indicating that the bcc $Al_{0.4}Fe_{0.6}$ phase had been transformed to the Fe and Co phases.

  • Influences of dose and particle size of $Al_2O_3$ filler and sintering time on the dielectric properties of $Al_2O_3$ filler/CaO-$Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ (CAS) glass composites were investigated with a view to applying the composites to the substrate material in low temperature co-firing ceramic (LTCC) technology. The increased addition of $Al_2O_3$ filler with the particle size of 1 ${\mu}m$ monotonically decreased the density of the sintered specimen at a given temperature, while sintering of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$ added specimen at $925^{\circ}C$ for 2 h demonstrated 96.0 % of the relative density, dielectric constant of 6.34, and quality factor of 2,760 GHz. As for the influence of the particle size of the $Al_2O_3$ filler, there existed an optimum particle size (30 ${\mu}m$) to ensure successful densification (96.5 %) of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$/CAS composites at $925^{\circ}C$ for 2 h, at which condition the specimen demonstrated dielectric constant of 5.45 and quality factor of 3,740 GHz. When the influence of the sintering time of the 10 wt% $Al_2O_3$) (30 ${\mu}m$) added specimen was investigated at the sintering temperature of $925^{\circ}C$, an overly long sintering time degraded dielectric properties due to the over-sintering and the significant growth of the second phase such as anorthite, while the sintering for 4 h demonstrated 96.58 % of the relative density, dielectric constant of 5.4, and quality factor of 4,050 GHz. These results demonstrate the feasibility of the investigated material as the substrate material in LTCC technology.

일산화탄소 저온 산화에서 금속산화물에 담지된 금촉매의 활성에 미치는 수분첨가의 영향 (Effect of Water Addition on Activity of Gold Catalysts Supported on Metal Oxide at Low Temperature CO Oxidation)

  • 금속질산염과 염화금산을 전구체로 사용하여 다양한 금속산화물($$Al_{2}O_{3}$, ZnO, $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, $Cr_{2}O_{3}$, $MnO_{2}$, CuO, NiO, $Co_{3}O_{4}$)에 담지된 금촉매를 공침법을 이용하여 제조한 후, 일산화탄소 산화반응에서 수분첨가의 영향을 검토하였다. 이들 중 $Co_{3}O_{4}$와 ZnO에 담지된 금촉매가 일산화탄소에 대하여 높은 활성을 보여주었다. 반응가스 중에 수분이 첨가될 때 Au/$Co_{3}O_{4}$ 촉매는 활성이 약간 감소하였으나, Au/ZnO 촉매에서는 활성이 크게 증가하여 수분에 의한 일산화탄소 산화 활성은 담체의 종류에 크게 의존함을 알 수 있었다. 반응가스 중에 포함된 수분에 관계없이 반응 전과 후의 Au(5 wt%)/ZnO 촉매의 금입자 크기는 거의 변하지 않아 활성이 감소되는 이유는 금입자들의 소결에 의한 영향보다는 카보네이트와 같은 화학종에 의해 불활성화가 일어남을 알 수 있었으며, 이 화학종은 수분의 첨가에 의해 이산화탄소로 분해되어 활성이 증가한 것으로 생각된다.

  • 본 연구는 아크롤레인의 선택산화반응에서 Mo-V-O와 금속산화물의 기계적 혼합촉매에 대한 synergy 효과를 고찰한 것으로 금속산화물로는 $SnO_2$, ${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$, $WO_3$, ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$, CuO, $MnO_2$, $Cu_2O$, MgO, CoO 그리고 ZnO 등을 사용하였다. $SnO_2$${\alpha}-Sb_2O_4$와 Mo-V-O의 혼합물 촉매는 Mo-V-O보다 높은 전화율과 수율을 나타내었는데 이것은 이들이 산소 빈자리에 해리 홉착된 산소를 형성하여 Mo-V-O에 전달하는 상간협동에 의한 것으로 판단된다 그러나 $Cu_2O$, MgO, CuO, $MnO_2$와 Mo-V-O의 혼합물 촉매의 경우 전화율은 증가하였으나 수율은 감소하였고, CoO와 ZnO는 Mo-V-O의 촉매성능을 억제하였다. 각 금속산화물의 역할이 서로 다른 점을 그들의 산화-환원 특성으로 설명하였다.

절연막층의 플라즈마 산화시간에 따른 CoFe/AlO/CoFe/NiFe 구조의 터널자기저항 효과 연구 (Effect of Plasma Oxidation lime on TMR Devices of CoFe/AlO/CoFe/NiFe Structure)

  • We investigated the evolution of magnetoresistance and magnetic property of tunneling magnetoresistive(TMR) device with microstructure and plasma oxidation time. TMR devices have potential applications for non volatile MRAM and high density HDD reading head. We prepared the tunnel magnetoresistance(TMR) devices of Ta($50{\AA}$)/NiFe($50{\AA}$)/IrMn($150{\AA}$)/CoFe($50{\AA}$)/Al($13{\AA}$)-O/CoFe($40{\AA}$)/FiFe($400{\AA}$)/Ta(($50{\AA}$) structure which have $100{\times}100\mu\textrm{m}^2$ junction area on $2.5{\times}2.5\textrm{cm}^2$ Si/$SiO_2$(($1000{\AA}$) substrates by an inductively coupled plasma(ICP) magnetron sputter. We fabricated the insulating layer using an ICP plasma oxidation method by with various oxidation time from 30 sec to 360 sec, and measured resistances and magnetoresistance(MR) ratios of TMR devices. We found that the oxidized sample for oxidation time of 80 sec showed the highest MR radio of 30.31 %, while the calculated value regarding inhomogeneous current effect indicated 25.18 %. We used transmission electron microscope(TEM) to investigate microstructural evolution of insulating layer. Comparing the cross-sectional TEM images at oxidation time of 150 sec and 360 sec, we found that the thickness and thickness variation of 360 sec-oxidized insulating layer became 30% and 40% larger than those of 150 sec-oxidized layer, repectively. Therefore, our results imply that increase of thickness variation with oxidation time may be one of the major treasons of the MR decrease.

Thermal Expansion and Dielectric Properties of CaO-ZnO-B2O3-SiO2 Glass-Added Al2O3 Composites for LTCC Applications

  • Varying quantities of a high-thermal-expansion glass, 50CaO-20ZnO-$20B_2O_3-10SiO_2$ (CZBS), were added to alumina and sintered at $875^{\circ}C$ for 2 h for low temperature co-firing ceramic (LTCC) applications. As the amount of glass addition increased from 40 wt% to 70 wt%, the apparent density of the sintered product increased from 88.8% to 91.5%, which was also qualitatively confirmed by microstructural observation. When the glass addition was very high, e.g., 70 wt%, an apparent formation of secondary phases such as $CaZn_2AlZnSiAlO_7$, $Ca_2Al(AlSi)O_7$, $Ca_2Al_2SiO_7$, $Ca_2ZnSi_2O_7$ and ZnO, was observed. Both the dielectric constant and the coefficient of thermal expansion increased with the glass addition, which was qualitatively consistent with the analytical models, while the experimental values were lower than the predicted ones due to the presence of pores and secondary phases.

토양(土壤) 석회요구량(石灰要求量) 결정방법 (決定方法)의 실험적(實驗的) 고찰(考察) (Evaluation of Methods for Determining Lime Requirement of Soils)

  • 강원도(江原道) 지역(地域)의 답토양(畓土壤)이 널리 분포(分布)되어 있는 석회암지대(石灰岩地帶), 하성충적충지대(河成沖積層地帶), 현무암지대(玄武岩地帶) 토양(土壤)을 대상(對象)으로 하여 석회요구량(石灰要求量) 결정방법(決定方法)간의 차이(差異)를 실험적(實驗的)으로 비교(比較), 검토(檢討)하였던 바 그 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 석회요구량(石灰要求量)을 결정(決定)하는 7가지 방법(方法)($CaCO_3$ incubation method, $BaCl_2$-TEA method, SMP-single buffer method, Double buffer method, Adams and Evans method, SMP-double buffer method, O. R. D. method)을 비교(比較)한 결과(結果) 방법(方法)간에 큰 차이(差異)가 있었다. 2. $CaCO_3$ incubation method를 기준(基準)으로 할 때 석회요구량(石灰要求量)은 $BaCl_2-TEA$ method가 가장 높았고, O.R.D. method 가 가장 적었으며, SMP-double buffer method가 강원도(江原道) 토양(土壤)에 비교적(比較的) 적합(適合)할 것으로 평가(評價)되었다. 3. 치환성(置換性) Al 함량(含量)의 100% 당량(當量)에 해당(該當)하는 $CaCO_3$를 가(加)하고 incubation한 경우 약(約) 70%의 중화율(中和率)을 나타냈다. 4. 활성(活性) Al 함량(含量)의 100% 당량(當量)에 해당(該當)하는 $CaCO_3$를 가(加)하고 incubation한 경우에는 약(約) 30%의 중화율(中和率)을 나타냈다. 5. 치환성(置換性) Al 및 활성(活性) Al 함량(含量)을 기준(基準)으로 한 석회요구량(石灰要求量)은 $CaCO_3$ incubation method에 비(比)해 적은 값을 나타냈다.

12wt% Co 담지 촉매에서 합성오일 제조시 조촉매 효과 및 반응조건 영향 분석 (The Effect of Promotor and Reaction Condition for FT Oil Synthesis over 12wt% Co-based Catalyst)

  • The synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch oil is the catalytic hydrogenation of CO to give a range of products, which can be used for the production of high-quality diesel fuel, gasoline and linear chemicals. Our cobalt based catalyst was prepared Co/alumina, silica and titania by the incipient wet impregnation of the nitrates of cobalt and promoter with supports. Cobalt catalysts was calcined at $350^{\circ}C$ before being loaded into the FT reactors. After the reduction of catalyst has been carried out under $450^{\circ}C$ for 24hrs, FT reaction of the catalyst has been carried out at GHSV of 4,000/hr under $200^{\circ}C$ and 20atm. From these test results, we have obtained the results as following ; in case of 12wt% Co-supported $Al_2O_3$, $SiO_2$ and $TiO_2$ catalysts, maximum activities of the catalysts were appeared at the promoters of Mn, Mo and Ce respectively. The activity of 12wt% $Co/Al_2O_3$ added a Mn promoter was about 3 times as high as that of 12wt% $Co/Al_2O_3$ catalyst without promoters. When it has been the experiment at the range of reaction temperature of $200{\sim}220^{\circ}C$ and GHSV of 1,546~5,000/hr, the results have shown generally increasing the activities with the increase of reaction temperature and GHSV.

Al2O3-CaO-SiO2-MgO계 슬래그 중 Cu의 용해도 (Copper Solubility in Al2O3-CaO-SiO2-MgO Slag)

  • 본 연구에서는 폐 PCB의 주성분인 Cu와 $CaO-SiO_2-Al_2O_3-MgO$계 슬래그의 평형실험에 의해 Cu의 용해도에 대하여 조사하였다. 1673 K~1825 K 범위에서 일정한 비율로 미리 용융된 4원계 슬래그와 Cu를 흑연 도가니에 각각 20 g 장입한 후, 10시간동안 평형 을 유지하였다. 분위기 중의 산소분압은 CO가스와 Ar가스의 비율을 조절하여 $10^{-17.23}{\sim}10^{-15.83}$ atm 범위로 제어하였다. 평형산소 분압과 염기도 및 MgO 농도가 증가할수록 슬래그 중 Cu의 농도는 증가하였다. 그리고 반응 온도가 높을수록 슬래그 중의 Cu의 농도는 감소하였다. 슬래그 중으로 용해되는 Cu의 반응은 발열반응이다.
