Effect of TiO2 buffer layer on the electrical and optical properties of IGZO/TiO2 bi-layered films

  • In and Ga doped ZnO (IGZO) thin films were prepared by radio frequency magnetron sputtering without intentional substrate heating on glass substrate and TiO2-deposited glass substrates to consider the effect of a thin TiO2 buffer layer on the optical and electrical properties of the films. The thicknesses of the TiO2 buffer layer and IGZO films were kept constant at 5 and 100 nm, respectively. Since the IGZO/TiO2 bi-layered films show the higher FOM value than that of the IGZO single layer films, it is supposed that the IGZO/TiO2 bi-layered films will likely perform better in TCO applications than IGZO single layer films.

  • Li-incorporated mesoporous $TiO_2$ materials with various pore-sized istributions were synthesized by using triblockcopolymers via a sol-gel process in a queous solution. The properties of the se materials were characterized by HR-TEM, XRD, and BET analysis. All particles have spherical morphology with a diameterrange of $1-3{\mu}m$. The mesoporous $TiO_2$ materials calcined at $400^{\circ}C$ and their specific surface area, average pore size and crystallite sizes were 210 $m^2g^{-1}$, 6.4 nm and 8.8 nm respectively. The Li-incorporated mesoporous $TiO_2$ were tested for $CO_2$ adsorption and its adsorption capacity is 90mg/g. The Li-incorporated mesoporous $TiO_2$ ar eobserved to be thermally stable, recyclable and greens or bent for $CO_2$ capture. The effect of bimetallic $ZrLiTiO_2$ is also studied for $CO_2$ adsorption.

Epitaxial하게 증착된 rutile-$TiO_2$와 anatase-$TiO_2$ 박막의 구조적 성질과 광전 성질에 대한 연구 (Structural and photovoltaic properties of epitaxial rutile and anatase filmes)

  • Epitaxial rutile-$TiO_2$ and anatase-$TiO_2$ films were grown at $800^{\circ}C$ on $Al_2O_3$ (1102) and $LaAlO_3$ (001), respectively, using pulsed laser deposition. The formation of different phases on different substrates could be qualitatively explained by the atomic arrangements at the interfaces. We also successfully deposited epitaxial rutile-$TiO_2$ and anatase-$TiO_2$ films on conductive $RuO_2$ and $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CoO_{3}$ electrodes, respectively. Using a Kelvin probe, we measured the photovoltaic properties of these multilayer structures. A rutile-$TiO_2$ film grown on $RuO_2$ showed a very broad peak in the visible light region. An epitaxial anatase-$TiO_2$ film grown on $La_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}CoO_{3}$ showed a strong peak with a threshold energy of 3.05 eV.

  • The 0.5$Ba_2Ti_9O_{20}$-0.5Mg$TiO_3$ ceramics were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties were investigated with sintering temperature by XRD. According to the X-ray diffraction patterns, major phases of the 0.5$Ba_2Ti_9O_{20}$-0.5Mg$TiO_3$ ceramics were coexisted. Also the secondary phase of Mg$Ti_2O_5$, Ba$Mg_6Ti_6O_{19}$ and the unreacted $TiO_2$ phase were existed. In the case of 0.5$Ba_2Ti_9O_{20}$-0.5Mg$TiO_3$ ceramics sintered $1350^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were 33.7, 54,900GHz, -12.5ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.

CO2 메탄화 반응을 위한 Ni 기반 Disk Type 촉매의 제조 최적화에 관한 연구 (Manufacturing Optimization of Ni Based Disk Type Catalyst for CO2 Methanation)

  • The catalytic activity of Ni-0.2%YSZ (Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia) with different promoters was evaluated for $CO_2$ methanation. The catalysts were weighed for mixing and they were dried at $110^{\circ}C$ for molding into disks. The concentration of $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ for conducting of $CO_2$ methanation were analyzed by gas chromatography and the physical characteristics of the disk-type catalyst formed were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive x-ray spectrometer. The addition of $CeO_2$ as a promoter for Ni-0.2%YSZ (denoted as Ni-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ) resulted in the highest $CO_2$ methanation. It also showed catalytic activity at a low temperature($200^{\circ}C$). Following this, $ZrO_2$, $SiO_2$, $Al_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$ were added to Ni-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ to compare the $CO_2$ methanation, and the highest efficiency was found for. Ni-1%Ti-5%Ce-0.2%YSZ Then, the concentration of Ti was increased to 10% and the catalytic activity was estimated using seven different types of commercial $TiO_2$. In conclusion, ST-01 $TiO_2$ showed the highest efficiency for $CO_2$ methanation.

ZnO Ceramic Varistor에 미치는 $TiO_2$$Al(OH)_3$의 영향 (A Study on the Effects of $TiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3$ for ZnO Ceramic Varistor)

  • Nonohmic properties of ZnO ceramics with various small amounts of additives were studied in relation to experimental methods, additive contant and sintaring temperature. The kinds of additives used to following chemicals were basic additives ($0.5Bi_2O_3$, $0.3BaCO_3$, $0.5MnCO_3$, $0.5Cr_2O_3$, $0.1KNO_3$), $TiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3$. Expecially, this study has focused on the effectsof $TiO_2$ and $Al(OH)_3$ in ZnO ceramics with the basic additives. SEM studies indicated that the addition of TiO2 promoted grain growth but retarded grain growth with the addition of $Al(OH)_3$. Also, in the case of calcination of ZnO with $TiO_2$ and ZnO with $Al(OH)_3$ previously, grain size of ZnO with $TiO_2$ was larger and that of ZnO with Al(OH)3 was smaller in comparison to the case with out calcination. From the viewpoint of nonohmic exponent and nonohimic resistance, electrical characteristics of ZnO, $TiO_2$ and the basic additives was more effective than that of ZnO, $Al(OH)_3$ and the basic additives. Nonohmic exponent and nonohmic resistance of ZnO, $TiO_2$ and the basic additives was 11-13 and 40-65 respectively.

CO Oxidation Performances: Cu Oxides Versus Ni, Pd-TiO2@SiO2 Core-Shell Nanostructures

  • We prepared Cu oxides, and Ni and Pd-TiO2@SiO2 core-shellnanostructures, and tested their CO oxidation performances by temperature-programmed mass spectrometry. We found the starting temperatures of CO oxidation are around $200^{\circ}C$ and $300^{\circ}C$ for Ni and Pd-TiO2@SiO2 nanostructures, respectively. Cu oxides are cubes with 50~200 nm with, prepared with different concentrations of NaOH and ascorbic acid. For the core-shell structures, we prepared 100 nm SiO2 spheres, first coated the surface with TiO2 precursor, and then coated with Ni and Pd. Their characteristics are further examined by scanning electron microscopy, optical microscope, FT-IR, and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy.

Zn2TiO4가 아연결정유약에 미치는 효과 (The effect of Zn2TiO4 on willemite crystalline glaze)

  • 아연결정유약에 Anatase 형 $TiO_2$에 의해 생성되는 $Zn_2TiO_4$가 효과적인 결정 생성제로 나타났다. 이에 저온에서 생성되는 $Zn_2TiO_4$를 인위적으로 합성하여 유약의 미치는 효과를 규명하였다. 첨가 $Zn_2TiO_4$는 저온에서 생성되는 결정으로 아연결정 W의 핵으로 작용하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 합성된 $Zn_2TiO_4$를 유약에 5 wt% 첨가하면 유약 내에 결정생성이 증가하며 안정적으로 유지된다. 특히, $Zn_2TiO_4$ 합성 시 발색제로 CoO, NiO, CuO를 각각 고용시켜 유약에 첨가하면 발색제의 고용효과가 커져 Willemite 결정의 다양한 발색에 큰 효과를 얻을 수 있다.

융제법에 의한 육티탄산칼륨 Whisker의 합성 (The Synthesis of Potassium Hexatitanate Whisker by the Flux Process)

  • 융제법을 이용하여 육티탄산칼륨 wisker를 합성하였다. 바람직한 융제를 설정하기 위해 $V_2O_5$, $Bi_2O_3$, $B_2O_3$, $Pb_3O_4$, KCl, $K_4P_2O_7$, $K_2WO_4$ 그리고 $K_2MoO_4$의 8가지 형태의 융제가 조사되었으며 반응온도와 반응시간, $K_2CO_3$에 대한 $TiO_2$의 몰비, $K_2CO_3$$TiO_2$의 혼합물에 대한 flux의 몰비, 티탄산칼륨 섬유의 합성을 위한 서냉효과 등의 변수들이 결정화에 미치는 바를 조사하였다. 적절한 융제는 $K_2MoO_4$$K_2WO_4$였으며 이 두 flux를 사용한 적절한 섬유상 결정화 조건은 반응온도 $1000{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$, 반응시간 5hr, 시료 $K_2CO_3$에 대한 $TiO_2$의 혼합물에 대한 융제의 몰비는 4.0 그리고 $K_2CO_3$에 대한 $TiO_2$의 몰비는 6.0이 가장 바람직하였으며 아울러 서냉조작은 장섬유의 성장에 효과적이었다.
