고지방 식이 흰쥐의 비만에 대한 중완 ${\cdot}$ 수분, 합곡 ${\cdot}$ 곡지 전침 자극의 효과 (Effect of $CV_{12}\;{\cdot}\;CV_9$ and $LI_4\;{\cdot}\;LI_{11}$ Electroacupuncture Stimulation on High Fat Diet-induced Obese Mice)

  • Objectives : To learn the effects of $CV_{12}\;{\cdot}\;CV_9$ and $LI_4\;{\cdot}\;LI_{11}$ electroacupuncture stimulation on high fat diet induced-obese mouse. Methods : The control group was provided with high fat diet without electroacupuncture stimulation, while the experimental group $CV_{12}\;{\cdot}\;CV_9$ and $LI_4\;{\cdot}\;LI_{11}$ with three frequencies(10Hz, 100Hz, 200Hz) for 5 times a week during five week periods with the high fat diet. We investigated the body weight, weight gain, and food intake. Results : After the electroacupuncture stimulation, a significant loss of increasement in weight was found in the experimental group compared with the high fat diet group. But there was no significant difference made by the change of acupoint combinations and frequencies. After the electroacupuncture stimulation, no significant change was found in the food intakes, but the weight gain a week was decreased compared with high fat diet group. Conclusions : These results suggest that electroacupuncture stimulation on $CV_{12}\;{\cdot}\;CV_9$ and $LI_4\;{\cdot}\;LI_{11}$ might be effective in treatments of obesity to high fat diet.

CV흑연주철(黑鉛鑄鐵)의 응고특성(凝固特性)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Solidification Characteristics of CV Graphite Cast Iron)

  • Many researchers have studied the eutectic solidification of CV Graphite Cast Iron qualitatively. However quantative studies have not been done. The type of eutectic solidification of CV Graphite Cast Iron treated with CG Alloy (Fe-Si-Mg-5Ti-Ca-Ce) was studied quantitatively through M.D.E. value (Mushy Degree of Eutectic Solidification) = $t_2/t_1)$, where $t_1$ is the difference of the eutectic solidification starting time between surface and center part of the casting sample, and $t_2$ is the time of eutectic solidification of the center part. Following results were obtained. (1) The M.D.E. value of CV graphite cast iron lies between that of spheroidal graphite and that of flake graphite cast iron but is closer to that of Flake graphite cast iron. (2) The M.D.E. value of CV graphite cast iron depends upon CV ratio. (3) The time required for eutectic solidification increases as graphite form is changed from Flake, CV. to spheroidal graphite. (4) The M.D.E. value increases as cooling rate increases.

공정 CV흑연주철의 주물의 직경이 기지조직, 기계적 성질 및 초음파전도속도에 미치는 영향. (The Effect of Diameter of Casting on the Matrix Structure, Mechanical Properties and Propagation of Ultrasonic Wave in Eutectic CV Graphite Cast Iron.)

  • The matrix structure and the morphology of CV graphite are affected by the addition of many kinds of elements, which are contained in the CV graphite cast iron, additives, fading time and cooling rate. The effects of cooling rate on the matrix structure, the shape of CV graphite, mechanical properties and propagation of ultrasonic wave in eutectic CV graphite cast iron were studied. When the diameters of the samples are 50mm, 35mm and 20mm 1. CV graphite number showed average 13.8% increase and CV graphite length showed 12.3% decrease with decreasing diameter of the samples. 2. The amount of graphite and ferrite showed average 10.6, 4.3% decrease and the amount of pearlite showed average 23.4% increase. 3. Hardness and tensile strength showed average 3.2%, 9.5% increase and impact strength showed average 1.3% decrease. 4. Ultrasonic wave velocity showed average 1.1% increase.

소양인, 소음인 월경통 환자의 체표온도 비교 (A study on the thermography of dysmenorrhea patients(Soyangin, Soeumin))

  • Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common gynecologic disorders in menstruating women. Dysmenorrhea refers to the pain appearing in the lower abdomen and lower back before. after or during menstruation. In oriental medicine. the causes of dysmenorrhea have been recognized as something penetrated such as qi. blood. and pathologic factors. The purpose of this study was to observe the difference in the temperature between the Soyangin dysmenorrhea patients group and the Soeumin dysmenorrhea patients group by thermography. We observed the 55 dysmenorrhea patients that visited ** Oriental Medicine center from July 19 to August 27. 2004. We diagnosed the constitution by QSCCII and the body temperature was assessed by DITI. Thermographic measurements were performed on 3 areas(Chon-jung(CV17), Chung-wan (CV12), Kwan-won(CV4)). In this study we observed that the temperature of Chon-jung(CV17) is the highest and Chung-wan (CV12) is higher than Kwan-won(CV4). The temperature of Soeumin group is higher than that of Soyangin group in all areas and there is a significant difference in 3 area temperature between Soeumin group and Soyangin group.

중완(中脘)($CV_{12}$) 황기약침이 노화촉진 생쥐의 골다공증 개선에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Astragali Radix Pharmacopuncture at $CV_{12}$ on Osteoporosis of Senescence Accelerated Mice (SAM) P6)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the Astragali radix Pharmacopuncture on improvement of senile osteoporosis (Type 2) in SAM P6. Methods : At 10 weeks after birth, Astragali radix Pharmacopunctures were given 100mL, 200mL/kg/day, i.p. 3times a week for 4 weeks at $CV_{12}$ in SAM P6 mice. We measured complete blood cells (CBC) such as RBC, HGB, Hct, PLT, MPB and MCHC. And we analyzed the plasma concentrations of blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, inorganic phosphate and total iron. In addition, we tested bone mineral density (BMD) using the soft X-ray. Results : The results were as follows. 1. At $CV_{12}$ in SAM P6, treatments of Astragali radix Pharmacopuncture were showed a trend of increase in bone mineral density (BMD) of the vertebrae lumbales, femurand tibia in P6 mice. 2. At $CV_{12}$ in SAM P6, treatment of Astragali radix Pharmacopuncture increased in RBC, HB, HCT and PLT, in comparison with control group. It was also found that the inorganic phosphate levels increased in the treatment on groups of the Astragali radix Pharmacopuncture from that of the control group, but blood urea nitrogen was no significant. Conclusions : These results are suggested that at $CV_{12}$ the Astragali radix Pharmacopuncture help on improvement of osteoporosis in SAMs.

봉독약침(蜂毒藥鍼)이 Writhing reflex 및 척수내(脊髓內) 통증관련(痛症關聯) 신경세포(神經細胞)의 활성(活性)에 미치는 영향(影響) (A Study on the Effects of Bee Venom Aqua-Acupuncture on Writhing Reflex)

  • Introduction : In spite of the use of Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture in the clinics, the scientific evaluation on effects is not enough. Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture is used according to the stimulation of acupuncture point and the chemical effects of Bee Venom. The aims of this study is to investigate the analgegic effects of the Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture, through the change of writhing reflex Materials and Methods : Pain animal model was used acetic acid method. The changes of writhing reflex of the mice which were derived pain by injecting acetic acid into the abdomen, after stimulating Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture on Chungwan($CV_{12}$) and non acupuncture point on the backside were measured. Results : 1. It showed that the writhing reflex were appeared on the groups which injected aceticacid only, and saline-acetic acid group(sample I), but not on the group bee venom-saline group(sample II). 2. The change of writhing reflex by Chungwan($CV_{12}$) Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture showed significant decrease in the order of Chungwan($CV_{12}$) Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture group III($2.5{\times}10^{-3}$g/kg), II($2.5{\times}10^{-4}$g/kg), and I($2.5{\times}10^{-5}$g/kg), compared with control group. There were significant decrease of number of writhing reflex in $5{\sim}10,\;10{\sim}15\;and\;15{\sim}20$ minutes intervals of Chung wan($CV_{12}$) Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture group I, and in $0{\sim}5,\;5{\sim}10,\;10{\sim}15\;and\;15{\sim}20$ minutes intervals of II and III, compared with control group. 3. The change of writhing reflex by non acupuncture point Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture showed significant decrease in the $0{\sim}5\;and\;5{\sim}10$ minutes intervals and the total number of writhing reflex in $2.5{\times}10^{-4}$g/kg group, compared with control group 4. The effects of writhing reflex of Chungwan($CV_{12}$) Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture group showed significant decrease, compared with non acupuncture point Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture group. Conclusion : This study shows that the Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture on Chungwan($CV_{12}$) decreases the numbers of writhing reflex. As the analgegic effects of Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture is recognized. Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture treatment is expected for pain modulation. In order to use it in many ways, more researches are needed for the dose and stability of Bee Venom aqua-acupuncture.

고지방식이 및 일반식이 백서에 대한 중완·천추·족삼리 침자의 유효성 검증 (The Effect of CV12, ST25, ST36 Acupuncture in General Diet and High Fat Diet Rat)

  • Objectives : It was conducted to experimentally analyze the effects of acupuncture treatment at CV12, ST25, and ST36 on weight, FBCS, fat metabolism, microbiome, and metabolome changes in the general diet rat and the high-fat diet rat. Methods : It was classified into four groups: general diet & non-treatment group (ND), general diet & acupuncture treatment group (ND+AT), high-fat diet & non-treatment group (HFD), and high-fat diet & acupuncture treatment group (HFD-AT). After acupuncture treatment was performed on CV12, ST25, and ST36, changes in body weight, FBCS, fat metabolism, microbiome, and metabolome were analyzed. Results : Compared to the ND group, acupuncture treatment performed on CV12, ST25, and ST36 in the ND+AT group had no significant effect. Compared to the HFD group, CV12, ST25, and ST36 acupuncture in the HFD+AT group reduced weight, fat weight, inflammatory cytokine IL-6 expression, and lipid droplet accumulation in liver tissue. Acupuncture can promote fat metabolism and relieve inflammatory conditions. Differences in diversity between ND and HFD groups were clear in changes in microbiome, fecal metabolites, and serum metabolites. As a result of some microbiome and metabolites involved in fat decomposition, intestinal lipid absorption, and blood lipid concentration control, such as Intestinimonas, Ruminococcus 1, pyroglutamic acid, tryptophan, and inositol, it was observed that the acupuncture treatment effect was evident in the disease-induced imbalance. Conclusions : Acupuncture treatment performed on CV12, ST25, ST36 clearly observed various regulatory actions on obesity induced by high-fat diet, confirming that the action of acupuncture treatment mainly plays a role in controlling an unbalanced state.

Effect of Traditional Acupuncture on Canine Gastric Motility

  • 본 연구는 침술이 개의 위 운동성에 미치는 효과에 관하여 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 건강한 잡종견 6두의 유문부 근층에 전극을 장착한 후 위근전도를 (electrogastromyograms, EGMG) 기록하여 위 운동성을 평가하였다. 침술은 ST-36, ST-40, ST-41, ST-42, ST-45, BL-21 및 CV-12 혈 위에 실시하였다. ST-36 및 BL-21 혈 위에 침술을 실시한 결과 위 운동성이 증가되었으며, CV-12 혈 위에서는 위 운동성이 감소되었다. 그러나 ST-40, ST-41, ST-42 및 ST-45 혈위의 침술은 위 운동성에 영향을 미치지 않았다

간유(肝兪).중완(中脘)의 대계(大?) 약침(藥鍼)이 급성 산화적 간손상에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Circii Herba Aqua-Acupuncture (BL18, CV12) on Acute Oxidative Liver Injury)

  • Objectives : Circii Herba has been used as a natural drug for the treatment of stress digestive system disease. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of Circii Herba aqua-acupuncture solution (CHAS) in experimental oxidative liver injury. Methods : In order to investigate the effects of CHAS on acute liver injury, male ICR mice were pretreated with CHAS(0.2 ml/mouse/day) at the loci of BL18 and CV12 for 6days, starved for 24hrs, and administerated acetaminophen(500 mg/kg, i.p.). After acetaminophen administeration, mice were sacrificed, and the liver was removed, rinsed with ice-cold $1.15{\%}$ KCI buffer, and homogenized at $4^{\circ}C$. Fractions(fraction Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ) were isolated by differential centrifugation. Lipidperoxide, total SH, and glutathione(GSH) levels were measured in the Fraction Ⅰ. In addition, activities of hepatic enzyme, such as catalase, glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px) were measured in the Fraction Ⅱ, and glutathione S-transferase(GST) was measured in the Fraction Ⅲ. Results : In vivo treatment of CHAS(BL18 and CV12) showed effective inhibition of acetaminophen induced lipid peroxidation, and showed elevations of total SH, GSH level, catalase, GSH-Px, GST activities. Conclusions : These results suggested that CHAS might suppress the formation of oxidative metabolites, and prevent acetaminophen induced hepatotoxicity.
