The effect of Cu coating on the sensing properties of nano $SnO_2:Cu$ based sensors for the $CH_4$, $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gas was studied. This work was focussed on investigating the change of sensitivity of nano $SnO_2:Cu$ based sensors for $CH_4$, $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gas by Cu coating. Nano sized $SnO_2$ powders were prepared by solution reduction method using stannous chloride($SnCl_2{\cdot}2H_2O$), hydrazine($N_2H_2$) and NaOH and subsequent heat treatment. XRD patterns showed that nano $SnO_2$ powders with rutile structure were grown with (110), (101), (211) dominant peak. The particle size of nano $SnO_2:Cu$ powders at 8 wt% Cu was about 50 nm. $SnO_2$ particles were found to contain many pores, according to SEM analysis. The sensitivity of nano $SnO_2:Cu$ based sensors was measured for 5 ppm $CH_4$ gas and $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gas at room temperature by comparing the resistance in air with that in target gases. The sensitivity for both $CH_4$ and $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gases was improved by Cu coating on the nano $SnO_2$ surface. The response time and recovery time of the $SnO_2:Cu$ gas sensors for the $CH_4$ and $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gases were 18~20 seconds, and 13~15 seconds, respectively.

Rice paddy cultivation is one of the major sources in methane (CH4) emission of which accurate assessment would be a prerequisite for agricultural greenhouse gas management. Biomass treatment in paddy fields is an important factor that affects CH4 emissions and thus needs to be taken into account. The objectives of this study were to apply drone images to investigate organic matter practices and to incorporate into the estimation of CH4 emissions from paddy fields. Three study areas were selected by one from each of the three different regions of Yeongnam, Honam and Jungbu, which are the most active region in paddy cultivation. The eBee drone was used to take images of the study sites twice a year; Jul mid-season for identifying rice cultivation area; Jan for investigating rice straw management and winter crop cultivation. Based on biomass management practices, different emissions factors were assigned on an individual paddy field and CH4 emmisions were estimated by multiplying respective areas. The ratios of rice straw application and winter crop cultivation were 1.4% and 37.2% in Hapcheon, 1.3% and 19.8% in Gimje, and 0.0% and 0.5% in Dangjin, respectively. The CH4 emissions estimates for respective sites were 0.40 ton CH4/year/ha, 0.34 ton CH4/year/ha, and 0.29 ton CH4/year/ha. On average, estimated CH4 emissions of this study were 28.5% less than the current Tier 2 CH4 emission estimation method.
In this study, permeation characteristics of pure $CH_4,\;CO_2$ and $CH_4/CO_2$ gas mixture were examined by permeation experiments through hollow fiber membrane module and experimental results were compared with simulation results. Permeation rate of pure gas increased with increaseing temperature in Arrhenius type. Activation energy was 6.61 kJ/mol for $CO_2$ and 25.26 kJ/mol for $CH_4$. In the permeation experiment of gas mixture, permeate flow rate and $CO_2$ concentration in permeate decreased and $CH_4$ concentration in reject increased with the increase of cut. Separation factor was in the range of 20~40 at 5~20 atm and 20% cut and it increased with pressure and against temperature Experimental values corresponded to numerical values with the deviation of 8% in permeate flow rate and $CO_2$ concentration in permeate and 15% in $CO_2$ concentration in reject.

Depending on the Bio-gas sources, main component gases of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ are shown to be variously present in amounts. For the anaerobic digester, The concentration of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ in the gases are 60~70 and 30~35 vol%. For the landfill gas, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ are 40~60 and 40~60 vol%. For the food wastes, $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ are 60~80 and 20~40 vol%, respectively. In this study, maximum conversion rates of $CO_2$ were obtained from the variety of concentrations of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ by the catalysts of reforming reactions. Moreover, in order to get maximum producing amount of synthetic gas, experimental studies were performed to optimize the reaction variables. On the basis of $CH_4$, 243 ml, R [$CH_4/(O2+CO_2)$] value were varied from 0.8 to 1.35, in the study of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ reforming reactions. It was shown that the optimal results were obtained for 1.35 of R value. And also, at $850^{\circ}C$ and 1 atm, the production rate of synthetic gas was 90% and the conversion rates of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ were higher than 99% and 90%, respectively.
TBAB (tetra-n-butyl ammonium bromide) forms a semi-clathrate with water under atmospheric pressure conditions and recently has attracted great attention due to its usage as a thermodynamic promoter in gas storage and separation process using gas hydrate formation. In this study, we measured the three-phase (hydrate (H) - liquid water ($L_{w}$)-vapor (V)) equilibria of the ternary $CH_{4}$+TBAB+water and $CO_{2}$+TBAB+water mixtures at the TBAB concentrations of 5 and 32 wt% to investigate promoting characteristics of TBAB. The greater promotion effect of TBAB was observed at 32 wt% than at 5 wt%. This result was in good agreement with that from pure TBAB semi-clathrate phase diagram under atmospheric pressure conditions. Through $^{13}C$ NMR analysis of the $CH_{4}$+TBAB semi-clathrate, it was found that $CH_{4}$ molecules are enclathrated in the cages of the double semi-clathrate and the position of resonance peak from encaged $CH_{4}$ molocules in the double semi-clathrate is the same as that from encaged $CH_{4}$ molocules in the pure $CH_{4}$ hydrate of structure I.
New ferrocene-based chelate amines, $Fe[C_5H_4CH(Me)NMe_2]_2\;(3), \;Fe[C_5H-3(CH(Me)NMe_2)(PPh_2)-1,2]_2\;(4),\;(C_5H_5)Fe(C_5H_3(CH_2NMe_2)(CH(CN)NMe_2-1,2)\;(6),\;and\;(C_5H_5)Fe(C_5H_3(CH_2NMe_2)(CH(Me)NMe_2-1,2)$ (7) have been prepared. The reaction and the coordination chemistry of 4 and other related compounds (S,R)-(1-N,N-dimethylaminoethyl)-2-dicyclohexylphosphino)ferrocene (CPFA) and 1,1'-bis-(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene (BPPF) with $Rh_2(OAc)_4(MeOH)_2$ were investigated. The reaction of the chiral ligand (S,R)-CPFA forms a complex of the type (${\eta}^1$-(S,R)-CPFA-P)$_2Rh_2(OAc)_4$ (8) in which the ligand is coordinated to both rhodium centers in a monodentate fashion through phosphorus. In contrast, the bisphosphine analogues such as BPPF and 4 afford chelate complexes of the type (${\eta}^2-PP)Rh_2(OAc)_4$ (9 & 10) where both ligands act as a chelate bidentate to a single rhodium atom. All these complexes were characterized by microanalytical and spectroscopic techniques. In one case, the structure of 8 was determined by X-ray crystallography. Crystals are monoclinic, space group C2 (No. 5), with a=26.389 (3), b=12.942 (1), c=11.825 (1) A, ${\beta}$=111.22(1)$^{\circ}$, V=3964.7 (8) $A^3$, Z=4, and $D_{calc}$=1.58 g $cm^{-3}$. Two Rh(II) centers are bridged by four $AcO^-$ groups in the ${\eta}^1$ : ${\eta}^1$ mode across a Rh-Rh single bond, and octahedral coordination at Rh(1) and Rh(1') is completed by axially coordinating (S,R)-CPFA and a briding $AcO^-$, respectively.
In this study, the reaction characteristics of combined steam and carbon dioxide reforming of methane (CSCRM) reaction using Pd-Ni-YSZ catalyst were investigated according to types of catalysts and gas compositions. Catalysts were prepared in the form of powder and porous disk. The injected gases were supplied at different ratios of $CH_4/CO_2/H_2O$. As a result, the conversion of $CH_4$ and $CO_2$ was improved as a result of using the porous disc type catalyst as compared with that of the powder type catalyst. When the $CH_4/CO_2/H_2O$ ratio of the feed gas was 1 : 0.5 : 0.5, the $H_2/CO$ ratio was adjusted close to 2. However, after 6 hours of the reaction, $CH_4$ conversion was partially reduced by the carbon deposition and the pressure drop increased from 0.1 to 0.8. This issue was then solved by optimizing the water content. As a result, it was confirmed that the durability was secured by preventing the carbon deposition when the gas was supplied at a $CH_4/CO_2/H_2O$ ratio of 1 : 0.5 : 1, and the conversion rate was maintained at a relatively high level.
