Structural and piezoelectric properties of lead-free (1-x)$(Na_{0.5}\;K_{0.5})NbO_3$-xBa($Ti_{0.9}$, $Sn_{0.1}$)$O_3$ ceramics

  • Lead-free (1-x)$(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$-xBa($Ti_{0.9}Sn_{0.1})O_3$ [NKN-BTS-100x] ceramics doped with 1 mol% $MnO_2$ have been prepared by the conventional solid state method and their structural and piezoelectric properties were investigated. The NKN-BTS-100x ceramics exhibited a dense and homogeneous microstructure when they were sintered at $1030-1150^{\circ}C$. Grain growth was observed for the specimen sintered at relatively low temperature of $1050^{\circ}C$. A tetragonal/orthorhombic morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) in the perovskite structure was also appeared for the NKN-BTS-100x ceramics (0.04$1050^{\circ}C$. The enhanced piezoelectric properties in the NKN-BTS ceramics with a MPB composition were obtained. Especially, for the NKN-BTS-6 ceramics, a high dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}^T_3/\varepsilon_0=1,400$), piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}=237$) and electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p=0.42$) were obtained.

Ba치환된 $Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$-$PbTiO_3$-$PbZrO_3$계 세라믹스의 압전 및 변위특성에 관한 연구 (Piezoelectric and strain characteristics of PMN-PT-PZ ceramics with Ba addition)

  • In this study, piezoelectric actuator samples were fabricated using 0.375PMN-0.37OPT-0.255PZ system ceramics with Barium substitution and the strain properties of them were investigated. Dielectric constant of the specimens increased with the increase of Ba content up to 5mol% and decreased with futher addition of Ba. The largest piezoelectric coefficient and electromechanical coupling coefficient were observed at the sintering temperature of 1250'C and Barium content of 5mol%. The characteristics of strain hysteresis was found largely with varing the sintering temperature on the single round type, and the strain is proportional to piezoelectric coefficient.

  • A new type of a lead-free positive temperature coefficient of resistivity(PTCR) material. based on $(Bi_{1/2}Na_{1/2})TiO_3\;-\;BaTiO_3$ solid solution ceramics has been developed. The effect of $Nb_O_5$ and $Y_2O_3$ content on the electrical properties and the microstructure of (1-x) $(Bi_{1/2}Na_{1/2})TiO_3\;-\;x\;BaTiO_3$ (BNBT) ceramics made using a conventional mixed oxide process has been studied. The Curie Temperature was obviously increased with the increasing of $(B_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_3$ content. The Y-doped BNBT ceramics(x=0.02) display low resistivity values of $10^2-10^3$ ohm*cm at room temperature and the Curie Temperature of $Tc=155^{\circ}C$.

투광성 $Ba(La_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-Pb(Zr_yTi_{1-y})O_3$ 세라믹의 $PbZrO_3$조성에 따른 강유전 특성 (Ferroelectric properties of the $Ba(La_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-Pb(Zr_yTi_{1-y})O_3$ceramics with $PbZrO_3$ contents)

  • 본 연구에서는 투광성 0.085Ba(L $a_{1}$2/N $b_{1}$2/) $O_{3}$- 0.915Pb(Z $r_{y}$ $Ti_{1-y}$) $O_{3}$(0.45.leq.y.leq.0.70)세라믹을 2단 소성법으로 제작한 후, PbZr $O_{3}$조성 및 온도에 따른 구조적, 강유전적특성을 측정하였다. XRD측정 결과, PbZr $O_{3}$조성이 감소할수록 결자상수 및 단위격자 체적은 감소하였으며 시편의 결정구조는 입방정계에서 능면체정계, 정방정계로 변화되었다. 8.5/60/40시편의 경우 포화분극, 잔류분극 및 항전계가 각각 33.28[.mu.C/$cm^{2}$], 4.15[kV/cm]로 전형적인 메모리 특성을 나타내었으며 PbZr $O_{3}$조성이 증가함에 따라 강유전 이력곡선은 slim loop특성을 나타내었다. 잔류분극은 온도가 증가함에 따라 감소하였으며 특히 PE-FE상경계 부근에 위치한 조성의 경우, 상전이 온도 이하의 온도에서 급격히 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.다.

BaCO3첨가량에 따른 PAN-PZI계 세라믹스의 압전 및 유전특성 (Piezoelectric and Dielectric Characteristics of PAN-PZT Ceramics with BaCO3Addition)

  • The piezoelectric properties of $0.05Pb(Al_{0.5}Nb_{0.5})O_3-0.95Pb(Zr_{0.52}Ti_{0.48})O_3+0.7wt%Nb_2O_5+o.5wt%MnO_2$ ceramics with the additive of BaCO$_3$were investigated. As the addition of BaCO$_3$increased from 0 to 0.4 wt%, the dielectric constant ($\epsilon^T _{33}$), piezoelectric constant ($d_33$), electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$), and mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) increased, while the dielectric loss ($tan\delta$) decreased. The highest piezoelectric and dielectric properties were observed at $1200^{\circ}C$ of the sintered temperature with 0.4 wt% of $BaCO_3$, and the properties of $d_33$, $k_p$, and $Q_m$ were 339 pC/N, 60% and 1754, respectively.

  • 본 연구에서는 $BaTiO_3$를 기본 조성으로 하여 PTC 써미스터를 제조하였으며 여기에 첨가제로서 Ca, Mn, Nb의 양을 순차적으로 변화시켜 미세구조 및 전기적 특성을 연구하였다. 또한 복소 임피던스 측정을 통해서 PTC 효과에 미치는 주 저항 성분에 대해서 고찰하였다. Ca 첨가 실험에서는 5[mol%] 첨가된 시편에서 $2.3{\times}10^7[\Omega{\cdot}cm]$의 높은 peak 비저항이 나왔으며 Mn과 Nb에서는 각각 0.1[mol%], 0.2[mol%]에서 $1.5{\times}10^8[\Omega{\cdot}cm]$$3.71{\times}10^9[\Omega{\cdot}cm]$의 수치가 측정되었다. 또한 Nb 첨가 실험에서는 첨가량이 증가할수록 결정립의 크기가 조밀해지는 현상을 보였다. PTC 효과에 미치는 주 저항 요소에 대해서 관찰한 복소 임피던스 측정에서는 결정립계 저항 성분이 주가 됨을 확인 하였다.

  • The ($0.8BaTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3-0.1MgTiO_3$)+$0.006Nb_2O_5$ ceramics were fabricated by conventional ceramic process. The dielectric property of specimen was investigated that the specimen was sintering temperature at 1,300C for 3hours and then annealed at $1,100^{\circ}C$ for 3hours in a atmosphere (air) to be painted on the surface with CuO paste. The results of the temperature and frequency are varied, the dielectric constant and loss tangent are unsuitable for BL capacitor. The dielectric constants were varied to be negative temperature coefficient(2.000-3,000) in the temperature range between -10 and $140^{\circ}C$, the dissipation factors (tan $\delta$) were some high(0.1-0.3). It was not grain insulation, in cause of the some difficult to be annealed temperature with CuO paste and fired atmosphere. But, we have some different annealing temperature and fired atmosphere, it will be suitable BL(Boundary Layer)capacitor.

Microwave Dielectric Properties of BSCT Thick Films with Addition of $Nb_2O_5$

  • [ $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$ ] powders, prepared by the sol-gel method, were mixed with organic vehicle and the BSCT thick films were fabricated by the screen printing techniques on alumina substrates. The dielectric properties were investigated for various composition ratio and $Nb_2O_5$ doping contents. All the BSCT thick films, sintered at $1420^{\circ}C$, showed the typical XRD patterns of a perovskite polycrystalline structure. The Curie temperature and the relative dielectric constant decreased with increasing Ca content and $Nb_2O_5$ doping amount. The relative dielectric constant, dielectric loss and tunability of the BSCT(50/40/10) thick films doped with 1.0wt% $Nb_2O_5$ were 1410, 0.65% and 17.29% respectively.

  • PTC Thermistors specimens were fabricated by added $MnO_2$ as donors, and $Nb_2O_5$ as acceptors and sintered $1250^{\circ}C$/2hrs. Average grain size decreased with increased in added $MnO_2$, and increased with added in $Nb_2O_5$. But, appeared liquid phase as $Bi_2O_3$ and $TiO_2$, affect to grain growth. XRD result, peak strength waslowed then crystallization not well, but, secondary phase were not showed all specimens. All specimens resistance were so high, about $40M\Omega$ over, couldn't measured to those resistance and doesn't appear PTCR effect.

  • The semiconducting bodies were prepared by doping the bariume titanate with $Sb_2O_3,Nb_2O_5$and by subsequent sintering in air. The sintered bodies were annealed between $1100^{\circ}C$ and $1250^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes to 2 hours in air. The resistivity was measured as a function of temperature from $20^{\circ}C$ to $240^{\circ}C$. The anomalous effect in resistivity occurred all of the $Nb_2O_5$ and $Sb_2O_3$doped barium titanate specimens, which were sintered in air atmosphere, and the most effective PTC effect occurred through 1 hour of sintering time at $1350^{\circ}C$ and 30 minute of annealing time at $1200^{\circ}C$. The resistivity - temperature characteristics seem to be intimately related to oxygen adsorption at grain boundaries and also to the thickness of insulating layers formed at grain boundaries during heat treatment.
