A study on development of CRM by means of XRF analysis for fine ceramic ($BaTiO_3$) (티탄산바륨 소재의 XRF 분석용 CRM 개발에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, 12 different chemical species of fine ceramic($BaTiO_3$) were synthesized as the standard materials for the fast and accurate measurements of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. Samples were diluted to sixteen times with the filling compound ($Li_2B_4O_7+LiBO_2$) in order to remove the matrix effect, and to get the convenient storage and homogeneity of ingredients. The matrix effects among the ingredients were corrected by the empirical coefficient method based on the Lucas-Tooth and Price model. The standard curve on 12 standard materials containing 15 elements were obtained by using X-ray fluorescence spectrometry at three different laboratories. The correlation factors of BaO, PbO, SrO, $Fe_2O_3$, $La_2O_3$, $SnO_2$, ZnO, $ZrO_2$, CaO indicated the relati vely good agreement over 0.995 among the three different laboratories. $SiO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ showed the poor linearity because of their low fluorescence intensities.

  • The semiconducting bodies were prepared by doping the bariume titanate with $Sb_2O_3,Nb_2O_5$and by subsequent sintering in air. The sintered bodies were annealed between $1100^{\circ}C$ and $1250^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes to 2 hours in air. The resistivity was measured as a function of temperature from $20^{\circ}C$ to $240^{\circ}C$. The anomalous effect in resistivity occurred all of the $Nb_2O_5$ and $Sb_2O_3$doped barium titanate specimens, which were sintered in air atmosphere, and the most effective PTC effect occurred through 1 hour of sintering time at $1350^{\circ}C$ and 30 minute of annealing time at $1200^{\circ}C$. The resistivity - temperature characteristics seem to be intimately related to oxygen adsorption at grain boundaries and also to the thickness of insulating layers formed at grain boundaries during heat treatment.

Investigation of Lattice Effects in Perovskites by $O-isotope^{18}$ Exchange

  • In the present study, preliminary experimental results of the change in the properties of perovskite-type oxides caused by the $^{18}O$- exchange have been reported. Two systems were selected for the exchange, (1) $ATiO_3$(A=Ca,Sr,Ba) and (2) manganese perovskite. The dielectric properties of isotope-exchanged $SrTi^{18}O_3$showed a drastic change from a quantum paraelectricity below 3K to ferroelectric-like behavior with a peak at 23K and an enhanced dielectric constant, 35000 at the peak. On the contrary, the $T_c$ for $BaTiO_3$was found to increase by 0.9K. The observed isotope shift of $T_c$ as well as $T_co$ for the manganese perovskites is correlated with the key parameters controlling the lattice such as $Mn^{3+}$ content, average ionic radius of the A-site cation <$r_A$> ad A-site ionic disorder $\sigma^2$.

  • The present study addresses the problem of quantitative prediction of effective complex relative permittivity of Barium Titanate/Polyvenylidene Fluoride (PVDF) and $(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})_{0.94}Ba_{0.06}TiO_3$/Poly(VDF-TrFE) biphasic ceramic-polymer composites. Theoretical results for effective relative permittivity derived from several dielectric mixture equations were fitted to the experimental data taken from the works of Prasad et al. (2010), Wang et al. (2004), Takenaka et al. (1991) and Yamada et al. (1982). The study revealed that out of the different test equations, only a few equations like modified Rother-Lichtenecker equation, Dias-Dasgupta equation or Rao equation for the real part and Bruggeman equation for the imaginary part of complex permittivity well fitted the corresponding experimental results. In the present study, some of the equations were used in their original forms, while some others were modified by choosing suitable shape-dependent parameters in order to get reasonably good agreement with experimental results. Besides, the experimental results have been proposed in the form of a mathematical model using first order exponential growth, which provided excellent fits.

Effects of Grain Boundaries on Photovoltaic Current and Photoinduced Domain Switching in Ferroelectric Ceramics

  • We investigated the effect of the grain size on the photovoltaic current in (Pb$_{1-x}$La$_x$)TiO$_3$ceramics, and the photoinduced domain switching in (Pb$_{0.85}$La$_{0.15}$)TiO$_3$and BaTiO$_3$ceramics. These behaviors in ferroelectric ceramics were attributed to the grain boundary at which photoexcited electrons were trapped. As the charged grain boundary acted as an electro-potential barrier which impeded the movement of electrons, the photovoltaic current showed a peak at a critical grain size. The space charge field built by the electrons trapped at the grain bound-aries was accounted for the photoinduced domain switching, and AE experimental results support well this account.

  • 본 연구에서는 마이크로파응용을 위한 이동통신기기용 안테나 모듈용 유전체재료 개발을 위해 $20\~80$의 중유전율을 가지는 글래스-세라믹스 복합체를 제조하고자 하였다. $BaO-Nd_2O_3-TiO_2$계 세라믹스를 기본조성으로 하고, $Na_2O-BaO-B_2O_3-P_2O_5$계 글래스 프릿의 첨가를 통해 제조된 글래스-세라믹스 복합체의 소결특성 및 유전특성을 조사하였다. 글래스 프릿을 5, 10, $15wt\%$ 첨가하였으며, $800\~950^{\circ}C$에서 각각 1시간동안 소결을 진행하였다. 그 결과로서 글래스 프릿의 한량이 증가하고, 소결온도가 높을수록 유전율$(\epsilon_r)$은 증가하였으며, 복합체의 결정특성은 감소함을 나타내었다.

Piezoelectric and Dielectric Properties of NKN-(1-x)BNT-xBT Ceramics (NKN-(1-x)BNT-xBT 세라믹스의 압전 및 유전특성)

  • In this study, piezoelectric and dielectric properties of the $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-(1-x)(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_3-xBaTiO_3$ [NKN-(1-x)BNT-xBT] ceramics were investigated. The lead-free NKN-(1-x)BNT-xBT ceramics were fabricated by a conventional mixed oxide method. The results indicate that the addition of $BaTiO_3$ significantly influences the sintering, microstructure, phase transition and electrical properties of NKN-BNT ceramics. A gradual change in the piezoelectric and dielectric properties was observed with the increase of BT contents. The dielectric constant, piezoelectric constant ($d_{33}$) and electromechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) increased at the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). The $d_{33}$=184 pC/N, $k_p$=0.38, dielectric constant=1455 with dielectric loss value of less than 1% were obtained for the NKN-0.95BNT-0.05BT ceramics sintered at $1150^{\circ}C$ for 2h. These results demonstrate that the NKN-(1-x)BNT-xBT ceramics is an attractive candidate for lead-free piezoelectric materials.

Influence of Yb2O3 Doping Amount on Screen-printed Barium Strontium Calcium Titanate Thick Films

  • [ $(Ba_{0.9-x}Sr_xCa_{0.10})TiO_3$ ] (x=0.33, 0.36) powders were prepared by sol-gel method. $(Ba,Sr,Ca)TiO_3$(BSCT) thick films, undoped and doped with $MnCO_3$ and $Yb_2O_3(0.1{\sim}0.7mol%)$, were fabricated by the screen printing method on the alumina substrate. The coating and drying procedure was repeated 6-times. The Pt bottom electrode was screen printing method on the alumina substrate. These BSCT thick films were annealed at $1420^{\circ}C$ for 2 hr in atmosphere. The upper electrodes were fabricated by screen printing the Ag paste and then firing at $590^{\circ}C$ for 10 min. And then the structured and dielectric properties as a function of the doping amount of $Yb_2O_3$ were studied. As a result of the TG-DTA, exothermic peak was observed at around $670^{\circ}C$ due to the formation of the polycrystalline perovskite phase. All BSCT thick films showed XRD patterns of typical cubic peroveskite structure. The average thickness of BSCT thick films was about $70^{\mu}m$. The curie temperature and the dielectric constant decreased with increasing $Yb_2O_3$ doped content and the relative dielectric constant of the specimen, doped with 0.5 mol% $Yb_2O_3$ at BSCT(54/36/10), showed a best value of 5018 at curie temperature.

  • 내환원성을 가지는 (Ca,Sr)(ZrTi)$O_3$계 C0G 원료와 코어 쉘 구조를 가지는 $BaTiO_3$계 X7R 원료를 적용하여 고압용 적층 칩 캐패시터를 제작하여 내부전극 형상 및 원료에 따른 신뢰성 밑 전기적 특성을 연구하였다. C0G 특성의 원료는 X7R 원료에 비해 단위 두께당 내전압이 감소하는 경향이 적었으며 내전압 특성도 우수하게 나타났다. 또한, 내부 전극 설계에 있어 floating에 따른 영향은 C0G, X7R 특성 원료 모두 향상된 전기적 특성과 신뢰성을 가짐을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • $(Ba_{0.5} Pb_{0.5})_{1-x} Nd_x TiO_3$ 중의 $_x(Nd$의 양)를 변화시키면서 격자상수와 전기전도도를 측정하였다 c축과 a축의 비(c/a) 의 극대값은 실온에 있어서 전기전도도의 극대값과 일치하였다. 이것은 Nd원자의 치환위치와 강유 전성의 변화에 의한 것으로 고찰되었다 Curie 온도이하에서는 Nd 첨가량의 증가에 따라 전기전도도의 활성화에너지가 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다 이것은 입경의 감소에 따른 Spontaneous polarization의 저하가 원인으로 고찰되었다 첨가량의 역학을 입계의 potential barrier의 높이와 관련지어 논하였다.
