Effect of $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ on Microstructure and PTCR Characteristics of $BaTiO_2-(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_3$ ceramics ($Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ 첨가에 따른 $BaTiO_2-(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_3$ 세라믹스의 미세구조 및 PTCR 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ (NT)가 도핑된 $BaTiO_3-(Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5})TiO_3$ BBNT) PTCR 세라믹스를 변형된 세라믹공정을 이용하여 제조하였다. 제조된 BBNT 세라믹의 미세구조와 PTCR 특성에 미치는 NT의 효과를 조사하였다. $1300^{\circ}C$에서 합성된 BBNT 세라믹은 NT의 도핑량이 증가함에 따라 비정상적으로 성장된 입자의 수가 증가하였다. 뿐만 아니라, NT의 도핑량 증가는 상온비저항을 약간 증가시켰지만 큐리온도 (Tc) 부근의 최대비저항/최소비저항으로 정의되는 PTC 점프 특성을 크게 향상시켰다. 특히, 0.01mol%의 NT 도핑 시 상온비저항은 $425\;\Omega{\cdot}cm$, PTC 점프는 ($2.02{\times}^10^5$) 저항온도계수는 69.8% 및 Tc는 $155^{\circ}C$의 우수한 결과를 나타내었다.

Effects of La2O3 and Ta2O5 on the PTCR Characteristics in Molten Salt Synthesized BaTiO3 (용융염 합성법에 의한 BaTiO3의 PTCR특성에 미치는 La2O3와 Ta2O5의 영향)

  • The effects of flux KCl and dopants, La2O3 and Ta2O5, on the PTCR characteristics in molten salt synthesized BaTiO3 have been studied. The resistivity of BaTiO3 at room temperature decreases with increasing amount of dopant La2O3 up to 0.2 atom%, and then increases with La2O3 content. In case of dopant Ta2O5, it increases with increasing amount ofthe dopant. These results could be explained by observation of the microstructure and defect equation. From the results of complex impedance-frequency characteristics, the grain resistances are almost same but the resistances at the grain boundary are quite different.

  • The microwave dielectric materials of the BaO-Nd$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$and BaO-(Sm, Nd)$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$system were synthesized by conventional ceramic processing and sintered 1220 to 140$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours respectively. Their crystallization and dielectric properties were examined. In the BaO-Nd$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$ and BaO-(Sm, Nd)$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$system. Nd$_2$Ti$_2$O$_{7}$ and (Sm, Nd)$_2$Ti$_2$O$_{7}$ were observed as a second phase respectively. The maximum relative dielectric constant were 79,99 for the BaO-Nd$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$system and 105.07 for the BaO-(Sm,Nd)$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$system and their Q-value were over 2000 at 3GHz.GHz.

  • E $r_2$ $O_3$-MgO 복합 첨가가 BaTi $O_3$계 내환원성 X7R 재질의 유전특성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 환원성 분위기에서 연구하였다. (B $a_{1-x}$ E $r_{x}$)( $Ti_{1-y}$M $g_{y}$ ) $O_3$첨가계에서 1.0 mol% 이상 MgO의 복합첨가로 E $r_{Ba}$ 도너 불순물과 $Mg_{Ti}$ 억셉터 불순물이 전기적으로 보상되어, 환원성분위기 소결 후에도 $10^{10}$Ωcm 이상의 높은 절연저항을 나타내었다. E $r_2$ $O_3$가 첨가된 시편에서 MgO가 2.0 mol% 이상 첨가될 경우, 유전율의 온도안정성이 향상되어 X7R 규격을 만족시켰으며 1.0$mu extrm{m}$ 이하의 작고 균일한 입자가 관찰되었다. 한편, E $r_2$ $O_3$의 첨가량이 3.0 mol%로 증가함에 따라 유전율의 온도안정성이 향상되었으나 상대적으로 상온 유전상수값이 현저히 감소하였다.였다.다.

  • $BaTiO_3$ nano powder can be synthesized by hydrate salt method at $120^{\circ}C$ in air. Decreasing the thickness of thick film, the nano dielectric particle is needed in electronic ceramics. However, the synthesis of $BaTiO_3$ nano particle at low temperature in air and their mechanism were not reported enough. And ultrasonic treatment can be tried because of low temperature process in air. Therefore, in this study, the $BaTiO_3$ nano powder was synthesised with the synthesis time and ultrasonic treatment at $120^{\circ}C$ in air. In the synthesis process, the effects of process were evaluated. From the experimental observation, the synthesis mechanism was proposed. The homogeneous $BaTiO_3$ particle was synthesised by KOH salt solution at $120^{\circ}C$ for 1hour. It was conformed that the ultrasonic treatment effected on the increase of synthesis rate. After cutting the salt powder using FIB, $BaTiO_3$ nano particles observed homogeneously in the cross-section of the salt particle.

  • Abnomal grain growth behavior of BaTiO3 ceramics was investigated with addition of seed grains. It was foudn that the nucleation rate of abnormal grain was constant and growth of abnormal grain was linearly increased with sitnering time, regardless of amount of seed grains. These facts were also confirmed by fitting of the volume fraction of abnormal grain vs. sintering time using Avrami type equation (n=4). It was suggested that seed grains did not change the nucleation rate or growth mechanism of abnormal grain but increase the number of abnormal grains at initial stage of sintering and then it led to fine microstructure of BaTiO3 ceramics.

  • A $BaTiO_3$, ferroelectric material, was mixed $SrTiO_3$, $(x)BaTiO_3-(1-x)SrTiO_3$($0.7{\leq}x{\leq}1$) ceramic capacitor with stable electrical properties in high voltage was fabricated. And microstructure, electrical property were investigated with $SrTiO_3$ mol ratio. The shrinkage, open porosity, sintering density were predominated at $9BaTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$. Increasing $SrTiO_3$ mol ratio, curie temperature was shifted at low temperature and maximum permittivity was increased. Also, $0.9BaTiO_3-0.1SrTiO_3$ was showed stable dielectric properties at $25{\sim}80[^{\circ}C]$. V-I properties of specimen were observed in the temperature range of $21{\sim}143[^{\circ}C]$, were divided into three regions. The region I below 10[kV/cm] was shown Ohmic conduction, the region II from 10 to 30[kV/cm] was explained by the Poole-Frenkel emission theory and the region III above 30[kV/cm] was analysed by the tunneling effect.

Fabrication of Mono-Dispersed Ultrafine BaTiO$_3$ Powder Using Microwave (마이크로파를 이용한 초미세 균일 분산 BaTiO$_3$ 분말 제조)

  • Microwave(2.45 GHz) was used as energy source in hydrothermal reaction to fabricate ultrafine BaTiO3 powder. Using microwave of 700 W, crytal BaTiO3 began to fom after 5 min in microwave-autoclave sys-tem. The crystallinity was not noticeably increased with increasing longer reaction time than 10 min. On the other hand in microwave-reflux system crytal BaTiO3 began to form after 15min and the crystallinity was not noticeably increased with increasing longer reaction time than 1hr,. In either case particle size dis-tribution was considerably uniform due to the effect of homogeneous heating by microwave. In addition mi-crowave heating gave an extremely small degree of particle agglomeration compared to electric heating. Av-erage sizes of as-synthesized powders were 30-60nm. Ba/Ti ratio in sol played an important role in det-ermining the particle size. It seems that excess barium forms different phases such as Ba(OH)2 which makes thin layer on the surface of BaTiO3 powder. This thin layer would inhibit the agglomeration of Ba-TiO3 powders and keep the small grain size. In microwave-autoclave system tetragonal-BaTiO3 was formed directly by the reaction of only 15 min. In the case of microwave-reflux system tetragonal-BaTiO3 was formed by driyng over 25$0^{\circ}C$.

Preparation of BaTiO3 Powder in $BaO2-TiO2-Reduction Agent-PSCA (Particle Size Control Agent) System by SHS and Its Dielectric Properties (B3O2-TiO2-환원제-입자제어제계에서 자전연소합성법에 의한 BaTiO3분말의 제조 및 유전특성)

  • We have investigated on the preparation of BaTiO$_3$ powder at the system of BaO$_2$-TiO$_2$-Reduction ag.-PSCA by SHS. C and Mg were used as reduction agent, and NaCl was used as PSCA (Particle Size Control Agent). The effects of the various reduction agent and its concentration, particle size control agent, reaction mixture mass on the product in the preparation of BaTiO$_3$ powder at the optimum system by SHS were investigated. The optimum conditions for reaction system and composition were BaO$_2$+TiO$_2$+0.11 Mg +0.2C+0.75NaCl in the As atmosphere. NaCl as PSCA showed the effect of controlling the particle size of product as well as the combustion temperature. The particle size of BaTiO$_3$ synthesized at the optimum condition was about 0.5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. And as the mixture mass for the reaction was increased, the more stable combustion wave appeared. We have conducted the sintering experiment at the temperature of 130$0^{\circ}C$, the time of 2 h and the atmosphere of air to measure the dielectric properties of BaTiO$_3$ synthesised in this work, and the sample sintered in this condition showed 2,290 of dielectric constant at 10$0^{\circ}C$ and 13,890 at curie point (129$^{\circ}C$).
