MgO 변화량에 다른 $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ [BMT]계 세라믹스의 미세조직변화와 마이크로파 유전특성 (Effect of MgO Content on Microstructural Evolution and Microwave Dielectric Properties of $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ Ceramics)

  • Effect of MgO content on microstructural evolution and microwave dielectric properties of Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 system was investigated. MgO content was varied from 10 mol% deficiency to 10 mol% excess of stoichiometric composition, respectively. It was found that MgO-deficient specimen showed faster grain growth rate than stoichometric and MgO excess BMT system. Besides, sandwich type precipitates of Ba5Ta4O15 which was formed within the BMT grain, might lead to the anisotropic grain growth of BMT grain. On the contrary, in MgO excess specimen, BMT grain growth rate was retarded by precipitations of MgO phase in grain boundary. Besides, the Q values of MgO-deficient showed lower than MgO-excess due to precipitations of Ba5Ta4O15 within BMT grain.

  • The microwave dielectric properties of complex perovskite-structured $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ ceramics were investigated with calcining condition. The BMT ceramics were prepared by conventional mixed oxide method. Calcining conditions were $1200^{\circ}C$ for 10hr., $1300^{\circ}C$ for 2hr., and 5hr., respectively. And the specimens were sintered at $1650{\mu}m$. The structural and microwave properties of BMT ceramics were investigated by XRD, SEM and network analyzer. In the case of BMT ceramics calcined at $1300^{\circ}C$ for 5 hr., dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were 20.26, 31,144(at 1GHz), 6.11[ppm/$^{\circ}C$], respectively.

  • Effect of calcining temperature on the sintering behaviors and microwave dielectric properties of BMT[Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3] ceramics was studied. The calcining temperatures were varied from 80$0^{\circ}C$ to 130$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. It was found that, as calcining temperature lowered below 125$0^{\circ}C$, second phase such as Ba5Ta4O15 phases started to appear in calcined powder with unreacted powders. After sintering, exaggerately grown Ba5TaO3 phase could be found amang the uniform BMT grains in sintered body. Basis on the infiltration experiment, Ba0.05TaO3 phase should be formed by reaction of BMT grain and BaO-MgO eutectic liquid. But increase of calcining temperature above 125$0^{\circ}C$, there was not any second phase or unreated component in calcined powder and sintered body. As result, low calcining temperature led to precipitation of second phase in specimen and resulted decrease of Q value of BMT ceramics.

  • Phase pure barium magnesium tantalate $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$(BMT) nanopowders were synthesized at temperature as low as $220^{\circ}C$ through glycothermal reaction by using $Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$, $Mg(NO_3){\cdot}6H_2O$, and $TaCl_5$ as precursors and 1,4-butandiol as solvent. XRD, SEM, and TGA data support that glycothermal processing method provides a simple low temperature route for producing fine grained BMT nanopowders without alkaline mineralizers. BMT nanopowders synthesized at $220^{\circ}C$ showed more homogenous with rounded morphologies.

  • The physical and dielectric properties of complex perovskite compound Sr(Mg1/3Nb1/3)O3-Ba(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3(BMT) system were investigated as a function of composition. As the mole ratio of BMN was increased, lattice parameter ratio c/a was slightly increased, and density was increased in SMN-BMN system. However, in BMN-BMT system, lattice parameter ratio c/a and density were decreased with increasing the mole ratio of BMN. Dielectric constant, dielectric loss at $25^{\circ}C$ and 100kHz, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency, the dependence of temperature in capacitance were increased with increasing the mole ratio of BMN in SMN-BMN-BMT system. These result can be explained according to the degree of order=disorder and dielectric constant.

  • 5 mol% $BaWO_4$를 첨가시켜 합성한 Ba$(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$를 이용하여 비방사유전세선로에 삽입되는 세라믹스 공진기를 제자하고 기존의 $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$계 세라믹스 공진기와 공진특성을 비교하여 그 특성을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 BMT 세라믹스는 기존의 $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$계 세라믹스보다 품질계수가 2배 이상 크게 높게 측정되었고, 측정 사진의 관찰 결과 전파차단성도 우수할 것으로 예상되기 때문에 BMT가 비방사유 전체선로에 삽입되는 유전체 공진기 재료로서 적용될 경우 우수한 공진특성을 발휘할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The structural and microwave properties of Ba($Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$-Ba($Co_{1/3}Nb_{2/3})O_3$ ceramics were investigated with composition ratio. The specimens were sintered at 1525$^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours in air. All specimens exhibited superlattice reflection planes of (100), (111), (200), (201), and (112). Increasing mole ratio of BCN ceramics, the peak intensity of superstructure reflection plane were decreased, while dielectric constant was slightly increased. The dielectric constant and quality factor of the 0.8BMT-0.2BCN ceramics were 27.51, 103,681 [at 1GHz], respectively.

  • The structural changes and the dielectric properties of $(Ba_{1-x}Ca_x)(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ (x=0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1) were investigated. The densities of samples were gradually decreased with increasing x, (BMT=7.69, CMT=5.25 $g/cm^3$). The crystal structure of BMT was a untiltied perovskite structure, however BCMT showed antiphase tilting and antiphase-inphase tilting structure. The dielectric constant($\varepsilon_r$) of the highest value was 33 at x=0.2 (BMT=24, CMT=17). The maximum quality factor was 27,500GHz in BMT. The quality factor· of BCMT was decreased to x<0.2 (5,000GHz), and was gradually increased to x>0.2. The temperature coefficients of dielectric constant was positive at x<0.8, and negative in CMT.

  • The microwave dielectric properties of (1-x)Ba(Mg$_{1}$3/Ta$_{2}$3/)O$_3$-xBa(Co$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3)O$_3$(x=0.25~0.5) ceramics depending on the Ba(Co$_{1}$3/Nb$_{2}$3/)O$_3$[BCN] contents and the possibility of application as a microwave dielectric resonator were investigated. The specimens were prepared by he conventional mixed oxide method using there sintering temperature of 1575$^{\circ}C$. It was found that Ba(Mg$_{1}$3/Ta$_{2}$3/)O$_3$[BMT] and BCN formed a solid solution with complex perovskite structure. As the mole fraction of BCN increased, dielectric constant increased while temperature coefficient of resonant frequency decreased. The highest value of quality factor, Qxf$_{0}$=138,205GHz, obtained in the sample of 0.9BMT-0.1BCN ceramics. In the range of x$\geq$0.4, the dielectric constant was about 30. The 0.55BMT-0.45BCN ceramics showed excellent microwave dielectric properties with $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=30.84, Qxf$_{0}$=75,325GHz and $\tau$$_{f}$=2.9015ppm/$^{\circ}C$.EX>.EX>.

수열합성법에 의한 Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 나노분말 합성 (Synthesis of Ba(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3 Nanoparticles by a Hydrothermal Process)

  • [ $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ ] nanoparticles were synthesized in water solution under mild temperature and pressure conditions by precipitation from $Ba(NO_3),\;Mg(NO_3)_2{\cdot}6H_2O\;and\;TaCl_5$ with aqueous potassium hydroxide. The average size and distribution of the synthesized $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ nanoparticles were below 100 nm and broad, respectively. The phase of synthesized particles was crystalline reacted at $170^{\circ}C$ for 4 h. The characterization of $Ba(Mg_{1/3}Ta_{2/3})O_3$ nanoparticles were studied using XRD, SEM, and TEM.
