  • 핵연료 집합체의 속도분포, 압력강하는 열수력 설계와 안전해석에 중요하다. 본 실험적 연구의 목적은 봉다발 지지 격자 하류에서의 수력학적 혼합을 고찰하는데 있다. 이 연구에서 가압경수로형 5X5 봉다발 부수로의 상세한 수력학적 특성들을 1차익 He-Ne LDV를 이용하여 측정하였다. 축방향 유속, 난류강도와 압력강하를 주로 측정하였고 LDV의 정렬을 조정하여 측방향의 유속, 난류강도, Reynolds 전단응력 등도 역시 측정하였다. 봉다발의 마찰계수와 지지 격자의 손실계수는 측정된 압력 강하로부터 평가하였다. 서로 다른 종류의 지지 격자의 수력학적 혼합성능을 이웃하는 부수로 간에서의 난류 횡류 혼합률을 예측함으로써 고찰할 수 있었다.

  • The purpose of this study is augmentation of heat transfer without additional power in two-dimensional impinging air jet. The technique of heat transfer augmentation used in this experiment is to place rod bundles in front of the flat heated surface. The effects of rod diameter, nozzle-to-target plate distance and the nozzle exit velocity on heat transfer have been investigated. The main conclusions obtained from this experiment are as follows. High heat transfer augmentation is achieved by means of flow acceleration and thinning of boundary layer by placing rod bundles in front of the flat plate. Average heat transfer coefficient becomes maximum in the case of H/B=10,D=4mm. For H/B=2,D=4mm, maximum heat transfer augmentation has been determined to be about 1.5 times larger than that of the flat plate. Heat transfer augmentation by placing the rod bundles at 12m/s is to be about 2 times more than increasing nozzle exit velocity from 12m/s to 18m/s.

  • High fidelity nuclear reactor fuel assembly simulation using CFD method is an effective way for the structure design and optimization. The validated models and user practice guidelines play critical roles in achieving reliable results in CFD simulations. In this paper, the international benchmark MATiS-H is studied carefully and the best user practice guideline is achieved for the rod bundles simulation. Then a 5 × 5 rod bundles model in the advanced pressurized water reactor (PWR) is established and the detailed three-dimensional thermal-hydraulic characteristics are investigated. The influence of spacer grids and mixing vanes on the flow and hear transfer in rod bundles is revealed. As the coolant flows through the spacer grids and mixing vanes in the rod bundles, the drastic lateral flow would be induced and the pressure drop increases significantly. In addition, the heat transfer is enhanced remarkably due to the strong mixing effects. The calculation results could provide meaningful guidelines for the design of advanced PWR fuel assembly.

  • The mixing vanes attached to the spacer grid of rod bundles are used to improve the heat transfer in heat exchanger devices by controlling the characteristics of the flow structures and turbulence. In this study, velocity patterns induced by two types of mixing vane(split and swirl vane) are measured by the PIV technique to better understand how to effect on the cross and secondary vortex flow patterns in $5{\times}$ rod bundle simulating the fuel assembly of the nuclear reactor. A successful measurement of the lateral velocity patterns was conducted using a specially designed beam sheet generator and experimental loop at KAERI. As the result, we found that for the cross flow between subchannels, the split vane is more effective than the swirl vane, while for the secondary vortex flow in each subchannel, the swirl vane's one is larger and longer than split vane's one.

  • 지지격자를 갖는 5$\times$5 핵연료 봉다발부수로내에서 국부 수력특성인자들을 레이저 유속측정장치인 LDV(Laser Doppler Velocimeter)를 이용하여 측정하였다. 이 연구는 지지격자가 봉다발 난류유동구조에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구에 관점을 두었다. 축방향속도, 난류강도, 편이도, 편평도 등의 측정인자들을 측정하였다. 압력강하를 측정하여 지지격자의 손실계수와 봉다발의 마찰계수를 구하였다 실험결과로부터 활발한 난류혼합거리는 지지격자로부터 x/D$_{h}$=10까지이고, 강제 혼합거리는 지지격자로부터 x/D$_{h}$=20까지임이 관찰되었다. 지지격자하류에서의 축방향 난류강도 감쇄거동은 mesh격자나 screen을 통과하는 난류유동과 같은 경향을 보여주었다. 측정된 자료로부터 부수로해석 code에 입력함수로 적용할 수 있는 국부 난류혼합계수상관식을 구하였다. 국부 혼합계수분포 경향을 관찰하여보면 지지격자 근처에서 최대값을 보이고, 하류방향으로 진행하면서 안정된 값을 갖는다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the enhancement of heat transfer without additional external power in the case of rectangular air jet impinging vertically on the flat heating surface. In an attempt to enhance the heat transfer rate in two-dimensional impinging jet, the technique used in the present study was placement of square rod bundles as a turbluence promoter in front of the heat transfer surface. The effects of the clearance between the flat plate and square rod, and the nozzle exit velocity on the heat transfer characteristics have been investigated experimentally. The results obtained through this study were summerized as follows. High heat transfer enhancement was achived by means of flow acceleration and thinning of boundary layer by inserting rods in front of the heating flat plate. The smaller the clearance between rod and heating plate was, the larger heat transfer effect became. Average Nusselt number reached maximum at $Re=5.76{\times}10^4$ and C=1㎜ and the enhancement rate of heat transfer became maxium at this condition with the enhancement ratio as high as about 1.427 when normalized by the flat plate value. The correlating equation of average Nusselt number and Reynolds number was obtained, which is $\bar{N}uo=1.324{\cdot}Re^{0.459}{\cdot}(C/A)^{-0.034}$.

  • Freon CHF experiments are carried out to investigate the CHF enhancements by mixing vane shapes of spacer grids in nuclear fuel assembly. The experiments were performed for a wide range mass flux, 50$\sim}$3000 kg/$m^2s$. Three kinds of spacer grids in 5${\times}$5 rod bundles are tested: no mixing vane grids, hybrid mixing vane grids, and split mixing vane grids. The CHF performances are compared along with the data belong to the PWR operating conditions based on a water equivalence through a fluid-to-fluid modeling method. The average of the data in this range is 16.4% for 37 data of hybrid vane grid and 12.5% for 24 data of split vane. In the lower mass flux, however, the split vane grid shows slightly higher performance than the hybrid vane grid.

  • 이 논문은 하강하는 물의 막과 상승하는 공기유동으로 구성된 수직 다봉채널내서의 역유동 플러딩에 관한 실험결과를 발표한 것이다. 특히 다봉속에 혼합깃이 있는 것과 없는 스페이서 그릿 및 블럭키지가 프러딩의 거동에 미치는 영향이 조사되었다. 시험부에는 5$\times$5 지르칼로이관속이 사용되었다. 플러딩에 관한 전의 해석적 모델과 실험적 상관식들을 본 실험결과와 비교한즉 기존의 모델과 상관식들이 매우 높은 플러딩 곡선을 예측함이 발혀졌다. 스페이서 그릿은 이것이 없는 봉속과 비교하면 낮은 플러딩 공기유량을 나타낸다. 그러나 혼합깃이 있는 스페이서 그릿은 이것이 없는 스페이서 그릿에 비하여 높은 플러딩 공기유량이 요구된다. 블럭키지를 가진 봉속은 더욱더 높은 플러딩 공기유량을 갖는다. 세가지 형식의 시험봉 속에 대한 실험적 플러딩 상관식이 얻어졌다.

Effect of Morphology on Electron Transport in Dye-Sensitized Nanostructured $TiO_2$ Films

  • The relationship between the morphology of nanostructured TiO$_2$ films and the photo-injected electron transport has been investigated using intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS). For this purpose, three different TiO$_2$ films with 5 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness are prepared: The rutile TiO$_2$ film with 500 nm-sized cluster-like spherical bundles composed of the individual needles (Tl), the rutile TiO$_2$ film made up of non-oriented, homogeneously distributed rod-shaped particles having a dimension of approximately 20${\times}$80 nm (T2), and the anatase TiO$_2$ film with 20 nm-sized spherically shaped particles (T3). Cross sectional scanning electron micrographs show that all of the TiO$_2$films have a quite different particle packing density: poorly packed Tl film, loosely packed T2 film and densely packed T3 film. The electron transport is found to be significantly influenced by film morphology. The effective electron diffusion coefficient D$_{eff}$ derived from the IMPS time constant is an order of magnitude lower for T2 than for T3, but the D$_{eff}$ for the Tl sample is much lower than T2. These differences in the rate of electron transport are ascribed to differences in the extent of interparticle connectivity associated with the particle packing density.ity.

  • 이차원(二次元) 충돌공기분류계(衝突空氣噴流系)에서 흐름방향과 수직(垂直)이 되게 설치한 평판전열면(平板傳熱面) 전방(前方)에 난류촉진체(亂流促進體)인 정4각(正4角) 로드군(群)(로드폭=4mm, 로드피치=50mm)을 설치하고 로드와 전열면(傳熱面)사이의 간극(間隙)(C=1, 2, 4, 6mm), 노즐출구와 전열면간(傳熱面間) 거리(H/B=2, 6, 10, 14) 및 Re수($Re=6.410{\times}10^3{\sim}5.769{\times}10^4$)를 변화시켜 실험한 결과, 평판(平板)에서 열전달계수(熱傳達系數)의 감소율이 큰 영역에서도 로드를 설치하므로써 높은 열전달계수(熱傳達係數)를 얻을 수 있었으며, 실험범위내의 Re수와 H/B에 대하여 열전달계수(熱傳達係數)가 최대(最大)가 되는 최적간극(最適間隙)은 C=1mm이고, 최대(最大) 열전달증진율은 H/B=2, C=1mm에서 로드를 설치하지 않은 평판(平板)보다 약 43% 증진한다.
