가열멸균의 동력학적연구 (Studies on the Kinetics of the Heat Sterilization)

  • The destruction rate of microorganisms by heat follows the first order reaction. In this experiments, the calculated sterilization velocity constants of Escherichia Coli are 1.97 * $10^{-2}min^{-1}.(45{\deg}$ C), 9.53 * $10^{-2}min^{-1}.(55{\deg}$ C) and $1.858min^{-1}.(70{\deg}$ C), 2.89 * $10^{-2}min^{-1}.(80{\deg}$ C), 1.32 * $10^{-1}min^{-1}.(90{\deg}$ C), 2.87 * $10^{-1}min^{-1}.(95{\deg}$ C), 7.91 * $10^{-1}min^{-1}.(100{\deg}$ C) and $1.777min^{-1}.(105{\deg}$ C). In the results, the activation energy of E. Coli is 62.0 Cal $mole^{-1}.(45{\deg}-60-{\deg})$, that of B. Subtilis are 17.8 Cal $mole^{-1}(60{\deg}-80{\deg}$ C) and 47.1 Cal $mole^{-1}(90{\deg}-105{\deg}$ C).

수소 동위체의 분리농축을 위한 수소저장합금의 수소 동위체 효과 (Hydrogen Isotope Effects in Hydrogen Storage Alloy for Separation and Concentration of Hydrogen Isotopes)

  • 경수소와 중수소를 사용하여 Ti1.0Mn0.9V1.1합금의 경우 313K와 353 K에서, $Ti_{1.0}Cr1.5V_{1.1}$합금의 경우 313 K와 338K에서 각각 수소 동위체 효과를 조사하였다. 합금의 결정구조, 각 상의 존재량, 격자상수 등은 Rietveld method에 의해 결정되었다. 두 합금 모두 용도에 관계 없이 중수소의 흡장량이 경수소에 비하여 많았고, 이들 합금의 수소 동위체 효과는 LaNis 합금에 비하여 대단히 크게 나타났다. 실험 온도 범위에서 $Ti_{1.0}Mn_{0.9}V_{1.1}$합금의 경수소화물은 중수소화물에 비하여 안정하였고, Ti1.0Cr1.5V1.7합금에 있어서는 중수소화물이 더욱 안정하였다. 또한 $Ti_{1.0}Cr_{1.5}V_{1.7}$합금이 $Ti_{1.0}Mn_{0.9}V_{1.1}$합금보다 많은 량의 경수소와 중수소를 흡장하였다.

  • In this paper we establish some recurrence relations satisfied by the quotient moments of the upper record values from the Weibull distribution. Synthesis and Fungicidal Activity of 1-[(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)alkyl]-1-silacyclohexanes

  • A series of six-membered ring organosilicon compounds, 1-aryl-1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)alkyl-1-silacyclohexanes 3a-c, have been synthesized by four-step reactions starting from 1-(chloroalkyl)trichlorosilanes. Their fungicidal activities were tested in in vitro for ten fungi and in vivo assay for four fungi occurring in rice, barley, tomato, and etc. and compared with the flusilazole. Especially, 1-p-fluorophenyl-1-[1-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)alkyl]-1-silacyclohexanes (3a, alkyl=methyl; 3b, alkyl=ethyl) showed good fungicidal activity with broad spectrum close to the flusilazole in in vivo assay.

Chlorococcales (Chlorophyceae) of Eastern and North-eastern States of India

  • Fifty-six taxa of chlorococcales were recorded from different water bodies of eastern and north-eastern states of India. These belong to 21 genera, e.g. Chlorococcum (1), Truebaria (1), Pediastrum (9), Hydrodictyon (1), Botrycoccus (1), Coenochloris (1), Radiococcus (1), Coenocystis (1), Oocystis (1), Glaucocystis (1), Chlorella (1), Kirchneria (2), Kirchnereilla (1) Ankistrodesmus (10), Coelastrum (3), Actinastrum (2), Tetrastrum (1), Crucigenia (1), Crucigeniella (1) Desmodesmus (6) and Scenedesmus (9). All these species were recorded first time from this region and out of these 16 species reported first from India.

  • This paper will show that the relation (1.1) $$L^1({\Omega}){\subset}C_0(\bar{\Omega}){\subset}H_{p,q}$$ if 1/p'-1/n(1-2/q')<0 where p'=p/(p-1) and q'=q/(q-1) where $H_{p.q}=(W^{1,p}_0,W^{-1,p})_{1/q,q}$. We also intend to investigate the control problems for the retarded systems with $L^1(\Omega)$-valued controller in $H_{p,q}$.

Md-ACS1 및 Md-ACO1 분자표지를 이용한 국내육성사과의 저장성 예측 (Estimation of storability for Korean apples (Malus domestica) using Md-ACS1 and Md-ACO1 DNA marker)

  • 사과는 에틸렌에 의해 호흡량이 일시적으로 상승하는 호흡급등형 과실이다. 에틸렌 발생은 세포벽분해효소 활성화와 세포벽 연화를 진행시켜 사과의 상품성과 저장성을 떨어뜨리는 원인이 된다. 사과의 에틸렌 생합성 과정에는 Md-ACS1 및 Md-ACO1 유전자가 연관되어 있으며, 두 유전자는 과실의 에틸렌 발생량과 경도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 연구는 사과 국내육성 28품종의 Md-ACS1 및 Md-ACO1 대립유전자형을 분석하고, 'Fuji(FJ)', 'RubyS(RS)', 'Hongro(HR)', 'Arisoo(AS)', 'Summer King(SK)', 'Greenball(GB)', 'Golden Supreme(GS)'을 대상으로 수확 후 25일까지의 에틸렌 발생량 및 상온저장($20^{\circ}C$) 20일 동안의 경도 연화율을 조사하였다. 그 결과, 낮은 에틸렌 발생량과 관련 된 대립유전자(favorable alleles0(FA)) ACS1-2, ACO1-1이 많을수록 에틸렌 발생량과 경도 연화율이 낮은 경향을 보였다. GS은 ACS1-1/1, ACO1-1/2(FA 1)으로 모든 품종 중 가장 높은 에틸렌 발생 수치와 경도 연화율를 보였다. SK와 GB은 ACS1-1/2, ACO1-1/2(FA 2)으로 ACS1-2/2, ACO1-1/2(FA 3)인 HR와 AS 보다는 높고 GS 보다 낮은 에틸렌 발생량과 경도 연화율을 보였다. ACS1-2/2, ACO1-1/1(FA 4)인 FJ는 RS를 제외한 모든 품종 중에 에틸렌 발생량과 경도 연화율이 가장 낮았다. 본 실험의 결과 Md-ACS1 및 Md-ACO1 대립유전자형과 사과의 에틸렌 발생량 및 경도 연화율은 상관성이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서, Md-ACS1 및 Md-ACO1 분자표지를 사과 국내육성품종의 저장성 예측과 육종 효율 향상을 위한 Marker-assisted selection에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 생각 된다.

XRCC1-77T>C Polymorphism and Cancer Risk: A Meta-analysis

  • Variants of X-ray repair cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) are involved in the development of cancer, but studies investigating the association of XRCC1-77T>C polymorphism with cancer risk have reported conflicting results. To clarify the effect of the XRCC1 -77T>C polymorphism on cancer risk, we performed a meta-analysis by conducting searches of the published literature in PubMed, Embase and CBM databases. Finally, 13 studies were included into our meta-analysis, involving a total of 11, 678 individuals. Subgroup analyses were performed by ethnicity and cancer type. The results of this meta-analysis showed that there was significant association between the C variant of XRCC1-77T>C polymorphism and cancer risk in all four genetic comparison models (ORC vs. T =1.19, 95%CI 1.07-1.31, P = 0.001; OR homozygote model =1.28, 95%CI 1.07-1.52, P = 0.007; OR recessive genetic model =1.22, 95%CI 1.04-1.44, P = 0.015; OR dominant model =1.21, 95% CI 1.07-1.35, P = 0.001). In the subgroup analyses based on ethnicity, the association was still significant in the Asian population (all p values<0.001), but not in the Caucasian population (all p values > 0.05). Thus, the XRCC1 -77T>C polymorphism is associated with cancer risk, and individuals with XRCC1 -77C variant have a significantly higher cancer risk, particularly in the Asian population.

Methylated-UHRF1 and PARP1 interaction is critical for homologous recombination

  • A recent study suggested that methylation of ubiquitin-like with PHD and RING finger domain 1 (UHRF1) is regulated by SET7 and lysine-specific histone demethylase 1A (LSD1) and is essential for homologous recombination (HR). The study demonstrated that SET7-mediated methylation of UHRF1 promotes polyubiquitination of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), inducing HR. However, studies on mediators that interact with and recruit UHRF1 to damaged lesions are needed to elucidate the mechanism of UHRF1 methylation-induced HR. Here, we identified that poly [ADP-ribose] polymerase 1 (PARP1) interacts with damage-induced methylated UHRF1 specifically and mediates UHRF1 to induce HR progression. Furthermore, cooperation of UHRF1-PARP1 is essential for cell viability, suggesting the importance of the interaction of UHRF1-PARP1 for damage tolerance in response to damage. Our data revealed that PARP1 mediates the HR mechanism, which is regulated by UHRF1 methylation. The data also indicated the significant role of PARP1 as a mediator of UHRF1 methylation-correlated HR pathway.
