  • Contiuous c-oriented zeolite MFI films $(<35{\mu}m)$ were prepared by hydrothermal secondary growth of silicalite-1 seed crystal in the surface of alumina porous substrate and silicon substrate. The supported films were characterized with scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. Effect of substrate surface roughness were investigated and a mechanism for c-oriented film formation and characteristic dom-like defects formation which is observed after seeding growth was discussed. The roughness of substrate plays an important role.

  • Monodispersed PZT fine particles were obtained from the condition which 0.2Pb (OC3H7)2/EtOH, 0.108Zr(OC4H9)4/EtOH and 0.092 Ti (OC2H5)4/EtOH were refluxed for 5 hrs at 76$^{\circ}C$ and hydrolyzed with 0.1-0.4 H2O/EtOH. The monodispersed particle was amorphous and crystallized to the tetragonal PZT phase when heated at $600^{\circ}C$. Particle size was about 0.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in 0.3 H2O/EtOH and 0.3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in other cases. Relative density of sintered body at 90$0^{\circ}C$ and 100$0^{\circ}C$ was 93.5% and 98%, respectively.

  • A new series of 4-(2-(substituted)pyridin-4-yl)-3-(3-methoxy-5-methylphenyl)-1H-pyrazoles (4a-f) and their 1,2-isoxazole analogues (5a-f) has been rationally designed, synthesized and screened against both ROS and MAPK14 kinases. Compounds 4b, 4c and 4e showed moderate inhibitions against both ROS and MAPK14 kinases. Compound 4e has showed the strongest inhibitions with IC50 values of 1.25 ${\mu}M$ and 3.00 ${\mu}M$ against ROS and MAPK14 kinases, respectively. A brief structure-activity relationship study and a molecular modeling study were made revealing a group of essential structural features for good kinase inhibitory activity within this new class of kinase inhibitors.

  • The glycosylation pattern of Erythropoietin (EPO), produced by recombinant CHO cells, was studied using the simple and rapid technique of 'Lectin-blotting'. In this experiment we used three different kinds of lectins, MAA(Maackia amurensis agglutinine), RCA(Ricinus communis agglutinine), and DSA(Datura stramonium agglutinine), which bind to the terminal sialic acid, galactose, and the N-acetyllactosamine chain respectively. The lectin-blotting technique was used to analyze the carbohydrate structure of EPO produced in the presence of two physiologically active chemical compounds, ammonium and chloroquine. The effect of the ammonium ion on the glycosylation of EPO was studied because it accumulated in the medium mainly as a by-product of glutamine matabolism. Ammonium chloride significantly inhibited the sialylation of the terminal galactose residue at concentrations of 8mM or more. Chloroquine, a potent inhibitor of glycosylation, inhibited terminal sialylation at concentrations of 100 and 200 $\mu$M, and at a concentration of 300 $\mu$M, also inhibited Nacetyllactosamine chain synthesis.

  • Applied for Drug Delivery System, polymer drug was prepared with chitosan and phthalylsulfathiazole. In spite of various application of chitin derivatives, commercial use of chitin has been limited due to highly resistance to chemicals and the absense of proper solvents. In this study, Chitosan were prepared from chitin which were deacetylated under various condition. The synthetic procedures of polymer drug were performed by acid chloride methods. The antibiotic activities of polymer drug exhibited growth-inhibitory activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Klebsiella pneumoniae at the concentration of 471-514 $\mu$g/ml in general. Comparatively, Polymer drug exhibited broad antibacterial activity on MICs 897-1280 $\mu$g/ml against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and E. coli.

  • Al2O3 and NiO-doped Al2O3 powders were prepared from the ethanol solution of Al (NO3)3$.$9H2O and Ni(NO3)2$.$6H2O by spray pylolysis method using two-fluid nozzle. As a result of spraying test with 0.3 mol/{{{{ iota }} concentration starting solution, mean droplet sizes varied with 8.99∼9.69$\mu\textrm{m}$ and those standard deviation were 4.57∼5.12. As-prepared powders which were synthesized at 1000$^{\circ}C$ have spherical shape, sizes of 0.1∼3.0$\mu\textrm{m}$ and specific surface area of 22.34∼24.20㎡/g. Most powders consisted of {{{{ gamma }}-Al2O3 phase and transforned into ${\alpha}$-A;2O3 phase by calcination at 1100$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr. NiO-doped Al2O3 sintered bodies had better sinterability than those of pure Al2O3 and 0.3 wt% NiO-doped Al2O3 had near theoretical density and dense microstructure.

  • Robust control of a GFR composite beam with a distributed PVDF sensor and piezo-ceramic actuator is presented En this paper. Modal analysis method and modal coordinates are introduced to obtain the state educations of the structural system. 1st and 2nd natural frequencies are considered In the modeling, because robust control theory which is robustness to structured uncertainty is adopted to suppress the vibration. If the controllers designed by H$\^$$\infty$/ theory do not satisfy control performance, it is improved by ${\mu}$-synthesis method with D-K Iteration so that the ${\mu}$-controller based on the structured singular value satisfies the nominal performance and robust performance.

  • A tetradecker sandwich compiex (7a) was synthesized in low yield by the reaction of a tripledecker, bis(${\eta}^5$-cyclopentadienyl)-${\mu}$-(${\eta}^6$-1,2,3,4-tetramethyl 1,4-dibora-2,5-cyclohexadiene) dinickel (5a) with potassium and Fe$Cl_2$${\cdot}$2THF. The reaction of another tripledecker, bis(${\eta}^5$-cyclopentadienyl)-${\mu}$-(${\eta}^6$-2,3-diethyl-1,4-dimethyl-1,4-dibora-2,5-cyclohex adiene) dicobalt (4a) with potassium and Fe$Cl_2$${\cdot}$2THF at room temperature produced a doubledecker complex (2b) via the decomposition of the dark green crystal.

  • We propose a method generating elemental images for the integral imaging using 4-step phaseshifting digital holography. Phase shifting digital holography is a way recording the digital hologram by changing the phase of the reference beam and extracting the complex field of the object beam. Since all 3D information is captured by phase-shifting digital holography, the elemental images for any specifications of the lens array can be generated from single phase-shifting digital holography. In experiment, phase-shifting is achieved by rotating half- and quarter- wave plates and the resultant interference patterns are captured by a $3272{\times}2469$ pixel CCD camera with $27{\mu}m{\times}27{\mu}m$ pixel size.

  • Fifty of 3.4-diaryl-2(5H)-furanone derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their cytotoxicity in a small panel of cancer cell lines. Eleven compounds in this series, were found to have significant cytotoxic activities with ED$_{50}$ values of less than 1 4{\mu}$M in most of the cell lines tested. Compound RTMSI, 3-(3.4, 5-trimethoxyphenyl)-4-(3-amino-4-methylamino)-2(5H)-furanone exhibited the most potent cytotoxic activity with ED$_{50}$ value of 0.003 4{\mu}$M and antitumor activity on BDF1 mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma cells with inhibition ratio of 72 %.%.
