  • The effect of salt addition to MO-CTB mixed micelle was studied. The logarithm of cmcs obtained from above experiment is a linear function of the logarithm of the sum of the cmc and the concentration of added salt. In order to investigate the relation of the color change and the structure, the measurement of conductance to the mixed micelle has been carried out. To see the color change and conductance data obtained in the present study, structure A is more probable one to the micelles having the ${\lambda}_{max}$ 376nm.

  • A hitherto unknown diphenylbutadiene analog viz. 1-(p-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-4-phenyl-2-methyl-1E,3E-butadiene (10) has been prepared and its absorption, excitation, and fluorescent emission properties in different media including various organic solvents and aqueous bovine serum albumin (BSA) have been studied. For comparision, these properties have also been investigated for the parent diphenylbutadiene (2). Diene 10 exhibits solvent polarity/polarizability-sensitive fluorescence properties ($\lambda$$_{max}$, $\Phi$$_f$, $\tau$$_f$, K$_f$, f). It also binds to the hydrophobic domains of aqueous bovine serum albumin (BSA) with a binding constant of 3.89 x 10$^4$ M$^{-1}$. The relative fluorescence quantum yield of 10 increases, while, the fluorescence lifetime decreases with increasing concentration of-BSA. The results highlight the polar character of the singlet excited state of diphenylpolyenes and the utility of 10 as fluorescence probe for studying microenvironments of organized assemblies and biological supramolecular structures.

Erythrosine과 수종(數種) 젤라틴간의 상호작용(相互作用) (Interaction of Erythrosine with Several Pharmaceutical Gelatins)

  • The interactions of FD & C Red No.3 (erythrosine) in 1 or 2% concentrations with various types of pharmaceutical gelatins were studied. In visible region spectroscopy type A gelatin showed 6 nm bathochromic shift in ${\lambda}_{max}$ of erythrosine, but no shifts were observed in other gelatins. Various results were obtained in the decrease of absorbance from 0.06 to 0.25. In dissolution study, the gelatin that showed the greatest spectral change exhibited the worst profile. From above results, it is concluded that erythrosine interacted to the greatest extent with type A gelatin and in the case of type B gelatin the degree of the interaction in different according to their specifications.

황백에 의한 견직물의 염색 (Dyeing of Silk Fabric with Amur Cork Tree)

  • The berberine from Amur cork tree is natural yellow dye and can be extracted more easily by water. The berberine is basic dye and was extracted at 90-95$^{\circ}C$. We have obtained the following results; 1. K/S value in the abstract of dye was increased by time-elapsing, but the reasonable time was between 90-120min. 2. The reasonable weight of Amur cork tree in the abstract of dye was between 10-20 g/L. 3. We obtained various colors in case of using mordants. ―In case of 10g/L and 20g/l, the reasonable value of mordant was 5-10%(owf). and in case of using tannic acid and $FeSO_{4}$ we could obtain high K/S value. 4. &{\lambda}_{max}& of UV spectra was shown 420nm. 5. Genarally fastness of drycleaning indicated more than grade 4. but it of perspiration was more stable in acid than alkali.

치자 청색소를 이용한 면직물의 염색성 연구 (Study on the Dyeability of Cotton Fabrics Dyed with Natural Gardenia Blue Powder)

  • The natural dyeing of cotton fabric with gardenia blue powder was studied. Cotton fabrics were treated with chitosan in order to increase K/S values and colorfastness. K/S values were increased with increasing the concentration of gardenia blue powder, dyeing time and temperature, and the lower pH of dye bath. In case of chitosan finishing, K/S values were increased, and ${\lambda}_{max}$ shifted to 600nm at 400nm. The wash fastness was improved, but the abrasion fastness was lowered in the case of wet rubbing.

  • 본 연구에서는 일반적으로 사용되고 있는 랜덤 수 발생 알고리즘인 LCG(Linear Congruential Generator)대신에 카오스 2중 텐트사상(Tent Mapping)에 의한 저 스위칭 소음 유도모터구동 시스템을 제안하였다. 2중 텐트사상에 의한 랜덤 수 발생을 위해 카오스 발생 영역인 $\lambda=0.99$에서의 2중 텐트사상의 분기도(Bifurcation Diagram)를 사용하였다. 카오스 랜덤수와 3상 기준 정현파는 80C196 마이크로 콘트롤러가 전담하고 있으며, 80C196으로부터 발생된 카오스 랜덤 수에 의하여 MAX038로부터 랜덤 주파수의 삼각파 캐리어가 발생된다. 기계적인 소음이 없는 ECB(Eddy current Brake)를 부하로 사용한 3상 유도모터 구동 장치를 제작하여 본 연구의 타당성을 입증하였다.

Synthesis and Characterization of Poly(fluorenylenevinylene-terphenylenevinylene) Containing Phenyl Pendant Group

  • Poly(fluorenylenevinylene-terphenylenevinylene) containing phenyl pendant group was synthesized by Suzuki coupling reaction and characterized by ${1}^H$-NMR, ${13}^C$-NMR, and IR-spectrum. The weight average molecular weight ($M_{w}$) of the obtained polymer was 31,000 with a polydispersity index of 1.9. The polymer showed good solubility in common organic solvents, and the solution and film emitted blue emission ($\lambda_{max}$=460 nm) on irradiation with UV light. The ITO/PEDOT/polymer/Al device fabricated using the polymer as an emitting layer emitted blue light with a maximum peak around 460 nm. The maximum efficiency of the device was 0.011$\%$.

  • High brightness and long persistent luminescence phosphor $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was prepared with varying $Eu^{2+}$ concentration by solid state reaction technique. Synthesized materials were investigated by powder X-ray diffractometer (XRD), SEM, TEM, photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra. Broad band UV excited luminescence of the $CaAl_2O_4:Eu^{2+}$ was observed in the blue region (${\lambda}_{max}\;=\;440\;nm$) due to transitions from the $4f^65d^1$ to the $4f^7$ configuration of the $Eu^{2+}$ ion. The decay time of the persistence indicated that the persistent luminescence phosphor has bright phosphorescence and maintains a long duration. These materials have great potential for outdoor night time displays.

  • This paper presents a robust and computationally efficient optimal design algorithm for electromagnetic devices by combining an adaptive response surface approximation of the objective function and($1+{\lambda}$) evolution strategy. In the adaptive response surface approximation, the design space is successively reduced with the iteration, and Pareto-optimal sampling points are generated by using Latin hypercube design with the Max Distance and Min Distance criteria. The proposed algorithm is applied to an analytic example and TEAM problem 22, and its robustness and computational efficiency are investigated.

  • A simple, rapid, reproducible and selective UV-Visible spectrophotometric method has been developed for determination of germanium in a week acid medium (pH = 3.0) in the presence of mandelic acid (MA) and malachite green (MG). A single extraction in chlorobenzene was used for the analysis. The germanium-MA ion association complex exhibits an absorption maximum at ${\lambda}_{max}=618nm$ with MG as counter ion and has an apparent molar absorptivtity of $1.313{\times}10^5L\;mol^{-1}\;cm^{-1}$. The values obtained by this UV-Visible spectrophotometric method are in good agreement with the values from inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer analysis.
