움직임 벡터에 의한 관심영역 기반의 HEVC 고속 부호화 유닛 결정 방법 (Fast Coding Unit Decision Algorithm Based on Region of Interest by Motion Vector in HEVC)

  • 고효율 영상 부호화 기술인 high efficiency video coding (HEVC)은 부호화 효율을 높이기 위하여 coding tree unit (CTU)을 사용한다. CTU는 coding unit (CU), prediction unit (PU), transform unit (TU)으로 구성되며 모든 가능한 경우의 CU, PU, TU 분할연산을 통해 최적의 분할 조합을 찾아내게 된다. 블록 분할 연산의 복잡도를 감소시키기 위하여 본 논문은 움직임 벡터에 의한 관심 영역 CTU 추출에 근거하는 PU 분할 결정 방법과 이전에 부호화된 프레임의 같은 위치의 CTU 정보를 사용하는 CU 깊이 결정 분할 알고리즘을 제안한다. 첫 번째 방법은 프레임 중 움직임이 많은 동적 CTU 부분과 움직임이 적은 정적 CTU 부분으로 나누어 정적인 영역에 대해 PU 분할 연산을 감소시키는 방법이며, 두 번째 방법은 이전 프레임의 CTU 깊이 정보를 기반으로 현재 CTU의 분할 깊이를 미리 예측하여 CU 분할 연산을 감소시킨다. 결과적으로 제안하는 알고리즘은 HEVC test model (HM) 14.0 버전 대비 BDBR 손실은 2.5% 발생했지만, 전체 부호화 시간이 약 44.8%로 크게 감소했다.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae에서 발현된 Pseudomonas aurantiaca Levansucrase의 분비국재성 (Secretion and Localization of Pseudomonas auratiaca Levansucrase Expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae)

  • Pseudomonas aurantiaca 유래 levansucrase 유전자(lscA)를 GAL1 promoter 하류에 연결시킨 pYES-lscA와 CAL10 promoter와 Kluyveromyces marxianus exoinulinase의 분비 신호서열(INU1 ss)하류에 연결시킨 pYInu-lscA를 각각 구축하였다. 이들 plasmid를 invertase 결손 변이주(suc2-$\Delta$9)인 S. cerevisiae SEY2102에 형질전환시켜 고활성 형질전환주를 선발하였다. 효모 형질전환주를 galactose 함유 배지로 배양한 결과, pYES-lscA 함유 형질전환주인 경우 levansucrase의 총활성은 8.62 U/ml이고, pYInu-lscA 함유 형질전환주인 경우 5.43 U/ml에 도달하였다. 발현된 levansucrase의 약 80% 정도가 periplasmic space와 cytopla느에 존재하였고, INU1 ss에 의한 분비효율 증가는 관찰할 수 없었다. 또한, 효모에서 발현된 재조합 levansucrase는 과당쇄화된 형으로 생산되는 것으로 보여진다.

  • 분리막을 이용한 산소-18 분리실험에서 분리된 시료의 동위원소 성분비 분석을 위해 다이오드 레이저 흡수분광장치를 구성하였다. 흡수신호의 신호 대 잡음비를 높이기 위해 lock-in증폭기를 사용한 파장변조 분광법을 채택하였다. 레이저의 주파수 변조폭 최적화와 FFT 저역통과 필터링을 통해 다중반사흡수셀에서 발생하는 간섭무늬 잡음을 줄였다. 산소-18에 대한 흡수분광장치의 최대편차는 $\pm$4$\textperthousand$로 측정되었다.

  • 감정 표현은 보편적이고 감정 상태는 우리 생활 모든 분야에 영향을 미치는 매우 중요한 인자이다. 현재까지, 감정이 유발된 상황 하에서 획득된 뇌파를 분석하고 그 결과들을 토대로 해당 감정 상태를 정의하려는 노력은 주로 심리학자들에 의해서 많이 이루어져왔다. 하지만 최근에 이러한 감정과 관련된 정보는 정신활동을 지배하는 뇌가 활성화될 때 발생하는 뇌파를 통해서도 파악이 가능하다는 연구결과들이 발표되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 뇌파를 이용해서 인간이 흔히 느낄 수 있는 감정들을 비교 분석 하고자 하였다. 특정 감정에 대한 뇌파 변화를 얻기 위해 평안, 기쁨, 슬픔, 스트레스 등 감정에 변화를 줄 수 있는 영상과 음악을 피험자에게 가해지는 자극들로 활용하고 측정한 뇌파 신호를 FFT 변환 후 델타파, 세타파, 알파파, 베타파, 감마파 각각 파워스펙트럼을 분석하여 성능을 검증 한 결과 다른 감각들을 통해 느끼는 감정 유발에 대한 뇌파 변화의 정도를 제시하고자 하였다.

Collaborating for Science and Technology Under "One China, Two Systems"

  • Since Deng Xiaoping's implementation of the "One China, Two Systems" policy, mainland China and the other Chinese regions of Hong Kong and Macau have cooperated in various ways to work towards successfully developing China's overall economy and industries. Particularly, cooperation between Guangdong Province and adjoining Hong Kong have been contributing to China's development, and this study explores their industry conditions including their current two governments policies designed to promote collaboration. The two partners were in a cooperative relationship even before the handover of Hong Kong, beginning with a "front shop, back factory" model built on their respective comparative advantages in labor-intensive industries in the 1980s. This cooperation effectively propelled the Pearl River Delta Region's industrialization process and enabled Hong Kong to transform from a manufacturing industry-based economy to a service industry-based economy. From the early 2000s, Guangdong and Hong Kong diversified their collaboration project from culture to high-tech. Also, both authorities produced several types of policies not only to promote both industries but also to harmonize their two different economic levels and models. As a result, the Guangdong and Hong Kong economies have developed remarkably well during the past two decades and continue to form future plans that carry plenty of optimism. Nonetheless, this study showed discrepancies between engineers and scientists from the two areas in their perception of their technology and science cooperation. Hong Kong experts were more negative in their responses but noted some successes of the collaboration, while Guangdong's group showed overall positive responses. This difference results from an unbalanced role in cooperation. Hong Kong's side responds to cooperation plans and takes on leading roles with more frequency than Guangdong's side in actual cooperation project processes.

URBAN ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ANALYSIS USING LANDSAT IMAGES OVER SEOUL, KOREA

  • The Urban Environmental Quality (UEQ) indicates a complex and various parameters resulting from both human and natural factors in an urban area. Vegetation, climate, air quality, and the urban infrastructure may interact to produce effects in an urban area. There are relationships among air pollution, vegetation, and degrading environmental the urban heat island (UHI) effect. This study investigates the application of multi-spectral remote sensing data from the Landsat ETM and TM sensors for the mapping of air quality and UHI intensity in Seoul from 2000 to 2006 in fine resolution (30m) using the emissivity-fusion method. The Haze Optimized Transform (HOT) correction approach has been adopted for atmospheric correction on all bands except thermal band. The general UHI values (${\Delta}(T_{urban}-T_{rural})$) are 8.45 (2000), 9.14 (2001), 8.61 (2002), and $8.41^{\circ}C$ (2006), respectively. Although the UHI values are similar during these years, the spatial coverage of "hot" surface temperature (>$24^{\circ}C$) significantly increased from 2000 to 2006 due to the rapid urban development. Furthermore, high correlations between vegetation index and land surface temperature were achieved with a correlation coefficients of 0.85 (2000), 0.81 (2001), 0.84(2002), and 0.89 (2006), respectively. Air quality is shown to be an important factor in the spatial variation of UEQ. Based on the quantifiable fine resolution satellite image parameters, UEQ can promote the understanding of the complex and dynamic factors controlling urban environment.

무한층 초전도체 $Sr_{0.9}Ln_{0.1}CuO_2$(Ln=La, Gd, Sm)의 광학적 성질 (Optical Properties of Infinite-Layer Superconductors $Sr_{0.9}$$Ln_{0.1}$Cu$O_2$ (LnLa, Gd, Sm))

  • We have measured the reflectivity of superconducting infinite-layer compounds $Sr_{0.9}$ $Ln_{0.1}$ Cu $O_2$ (Ln=La, Gd, Sm) with $T_{c}$ : 39 K using a Fourier-transform infrared spectrometer. We have identified the optical phonon modes from their infrared reflectivity and conductivity spectra and have proposed possible displacement patterns. The La- and the Gd-doped compounds exhibited only four ($2A_{2u}$ $+2E_{u}$) out of the five ($2A_{2u}$ $3E_{u}$) infrared-active phonons predicted by a group theoretical analysis whereas the Sm-doped compound exhibited all five modes. For the La-doped sample, we investigated the temperature dependence of the optical response functions in a wide temperature range of 7 - 300 K. In FIR region, the reflectivity is apparently enhanced below ~120 $cm^{-1}$ as temperature decreases across $T_{c}$. The value of $2$\Delta$/k_{B}$ $T_{c}$ is about 4.5, which is consistent with maximum gap value of d-wave $high- T_{c}$ cuprates.> c/ cuprates.uprates.s.

중합체 매개 용융압출에 의한 참당귀 나노복합체의 제조 (Fabrication of Nano-composites from the Radix of Angelica gigas Nakai by Hot Melt Extrusion Mediated Polymer Matrixs)

  • Background: The objective of this study was to make colloidal dispersions of the active compounds of radix of Angelica gigas Nakai that could be charaterized as nano-composites using hot melt extrusion (HME). Food grade hydrophilic polymer matrices were used to disperse these compound in aqueous media. Methods and Results: Extrudate solid formulations (ESFs) mediated by various HPMCs (hydroxypropyl methylcelluloses) and Na-Alg polymers made from ultrafine powder of the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai were developed through a physical crosslink method (HME) using an ionization agent (treatment with acetic acid) and different food grade polymers [HPMCs, such as HP55, CN40H, AN6 and sodium alignate (Na-Alg)]. X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the amorphization of crystal compounds in the HP55-mediated extrudate solid formulation (HP55-ESF). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis indicated a lower enthalpy (${\Delta}H=10.62J/g$) of glass transition temperature (Tg) in the HP55-ESF than in the other formulations. Infrared fourier transform spectroscopy (FT-IR) revealed that new functional groups were produced in the HP55-ESF. The content of phenolic compounds, flavonoid (including decursin and decursinol angelate) content, and antioxidant activity increased by 5, 10, and 2 times in the HP55-ESF, respectively. The production of water soluble (61.5%) nano-sized (323 nm) particles was achieved in the HP55-ESF. Conclusions: Nano-composites were developed herein utilizing melt-extruded solid dispersion technology, including food grade polymer enhanced nano dispersion (< 500 nm) of active compounds from the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai with enhanced solubility and bioavailability. These nano-composites of the radix of Angelica gigas Nakai can be developed and marketed as products with high therapeutic performance.

오렌지향과 valeric acid향에 대한 뇌파와 자율신경계반응에 나타난 후각 감성 (Differences of EEG and autonomic responses between olfactory stimuli with orange and valeric acid in human)

  • The present study was designed to investigate whether there is a consistint changes in the signals from the central and autonomic nervous systim due to olfactory stimulation. The olfactory stimuli were 0.6% orange and 2.5% valeric acid and the stimuli through the olfactory stimulator soth controlled consistint flow, controlled concentration, and saturated with vapour to prevent drying the nasal mucosa. A room air blunk served as the control stimulus, EEG was recorede from 4channels according to the international 10-20 systim. Additionally, ECG, EOG, heart rate, skin conductance and resputation were recorded comtinuously. The fast Fourier transform analysis of EEG waves was analysed with the power spectra. Averaged power spectra were computed for the following frequency bands ; delta(0-4.5Hz), theta (4.5-7Hz), alphal(7-9.5Hz), alpha2 (9.5-12.5Hz) and beta(12.5-30Hz). Withthe results of the subjective sensibility test for the ordor, the orange was related to pleasant and familiar and the valeric acid was realted to snpleasant and bothersome. There is the difference between orange and valeric acid in alphal at PG2-A2 channel. While the unpleasant stimuli seem to be increased in alphal, alpha2 and beta waves at all channels. Also, the heart rate, galvaric skin resistance seem to be decreased by pleasant stimuli and thd unpleasant stimuli shdwed the opposite. In respiration, respiration rate had been declinig tendency, and input/output ampoitued and duration showed an upward trend by olfactory stimulation with orange, while opposite by valeric acid. In conclusion, the consistent EEG changes and the autonomic responses suggests the possibilities of the subjective signal of human sensibility.

Environmental geochemistry of persistent organic pollutants in the Pearl River Delta

  • POPs in sediments and soil in the PRD are comparable to or much higher than those reported in other regions. Some sites may be classified as POPs- polluted with high ecological risks. Large-scale land transform in the process of regional urbanization may facilitate the transfer of POPs in the soil to the sedimentary system by enhancing the soil run-off. Urban atmospheric PCBs in PRD are found to be less than some of the North American or European urbans, but PAHs are significantly higher. The center of the PRD has been the major source area of PAHs and organochlorine pesticides in the PRD. The northern part of the PRD serves as a regional sink for the air particulates and affiliated POPs.
