  • With a recent observational study of extended Lyman-alpha halos around individual high-z star-forming galaxies by Leclercq et al. (2017) using MUSE, we perform radiative transfer calculations to see if Lyman-alpha scattering can explain the spatial extents of the halos together with their spectra. We adopt a spherically-symmetric halo model in which Lyman-alpha sources and neutral hydrogen (HI) medium have exponential density distributions. The HI medium is set to have outflowing motion based on a momentum-driven wind scenario in a gravitational potential well. We run our Lyman-alpha radiative transfer code, LaRT, upon this halo model for various sets of parameters regarding the HI medium such as temperature, optical depth, density scale radius, outflow velocities, and dust content. We analyze simulation results to see the impact of each parameter on Lyman-alpha spectra and surface brightness profiles, and degeneracies between the parameters. We also find a parameter set that best reproduces simultaneously the observed spectra and surface brightness profiles of the MUSE Lyman-alpha halos.

  • Two important types of $\alpha$-heterolytic fragmentation reactions of aminium radicals are discussed. In these fragmentation processes, transfer of electrofugal groups from the aminium radicals to either Lowry-Bronsted or Lewis bases produces $\alpha$-amino radicals. The results of recent studies that provided key information about the dynamics of the important aminium radical fragmentation reactions, deprotonation, desilylation, are summarized. Finally, selected examples, which demonstrate how knowledge of the relative rates of aminium radical cleavage can be used to design synthetically relevant SET-promoted photocyclization reactions, are presented.

  • The diffusion of fuzzy logic techniques into real applications requires specific software supports which save development time and reduce the programming effort. But we has been lack of a tool devoted to support the design of fuzzy controllers. In this paper, on the basis of the general fuzzy set and .alpha.-cut set decomposition of fuzzy sets, a set of fuzzy reasoning tool(FRT) devoted to support the design of fuzzy dontroller for servo systems is developed. The major features of this tool are: 1) It supports users to analyze fuzzy ingerence status based on input deta and expected results by three-D graphic display. 2) It supports users to prepare input data and expected result. 3) It supports users to tuned scaling factor of membership functions, rules and fuzzy inference. The paper shows how the suggested design tools are suitable to give a consistent answer to the tuning of fuzzy control system. This FRT is expected to exert good performance and devoted to support which the design of fuzzy controller is illustrated in the servo systems.

  • The purpose of this paper is to explore the use of fuzzy set theory for image processing and analysis. As an application example, the fuzzy method of edge detection is proposed to extract the edges of raised characters on tires. In general, Sobel, Prewitt, Robert and LoG filters are used to detect the edge, but it is difficult to detect the edge because of ambiguity of representations, noise and general problems in the interpretation of tire image. Therefore, in his paper, the fuzzy property plane has been extracted from the spatial domain using the ramp-mapping function. And then the ideas of fuzzy MIN and MAX are applied in removing noise and enhancement of the image simultaneously. From the result of MIN and MAX procedure a new fuzzy singleton is generated by extracting the difference between adjacent membership function values. And the edges are extracted by applying fuzzy $\alpha$-cut set to the fuzzy singletion, Finally, these ideas are applied to the tire images.

  • Our studies in the area of single electron transfer (SET) photochemistry have led to the discovery of efficient processes, in which regioselective formation of carbon-centered radicals takes place by nucleophile assisted desilylation of $\alpha$-trialkylsilyl substituted ether, thioether, amine and amide centered cation radicals. The rates of bimolecular desilylation of the intermediate cation radicals exceed those of other cation radical $\alpha$-fragmentation processes (e.g.,-deprotonation). This sereves as the basis for the design of highly regioselective, SET-induced photomacrocyclization reactions of polyether, polythioether, polyamide, and polypeptide linked phthalimides. Photocyclization reactions of trimethylsilyl-terminated substrates in these families are unique in that they produce polyfunctionalized macrocyclic substances in a highly efficient and regioselective manner. In addition, our studies in this area have led to important information about the factors that govern chemical and quantum efficiencies that should be applicable to a wide variety of redox processes promoted by SET from substrates containing more than one electron donor site.

  • Let K be a number field and let S be a finite set of primes of K containing all the infinite ones. Let ${\alpha}_0{\in}{\mathbb{A}}^1(K){\subset}{\mathbb{P}}^1(K)$ and let ${\Gamma}_0$ be the set of the images of ${\alpha}_0$ under especially all Chebyshev morphisms. Then for any ${\alpha}{\in}{\mathbb{A}}^1(K)$, we show that there are only a finite number of elements in ${\Gamma}_0$ which are S-integral on ${\mathbb{P}}^1$ relative to (${\alpha}$). In the light of a theorem of Silverman we also propose a conjecture on the finiteness of integral points on an arbitrary dynamical system on ${\mathbb{P}}^1$, which generalizes the above finiteness result for Chebyshev morphisms.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a servo system with faster and more accurate response. This paper describes a method of approximate reasoning for fuzzy control of servo system based on the decomposition of $\alpha$-level fuzzy sets. We propose that fuzzy logic algorithm is a body from fuzzy inference to defuzzificaion cases where the output variable u directly is generated PWM The effectiveness for robust and faster response of the fuzzy control scheme are verified for a variable parameter by comparison with a PID control and fuzzy control A position control of DC servo system with a fuzzy logic controller is demonstrated successfully.
