  • The following classical Oka-Weil approximation theorem on pseudoconvex domains in $C^n$ is well-known. Suppose that $M \subseteq C^n$ is pseudoconvex and that K is a compact subset of M with K = K, where K is the usual holomorphic hull of K in M. Then any function holomorphic in a neighborhood of K can be approximated uniformly on K by functions holomorphic on M (see [5], [6]).

  • In this paper a new subclass of multivalent functions with negative coefficients defined by Cho-Kwon-Srivastava operator is introduced. Coefficient estimate and inclusion relationships involving the neighborhoods of p-valently analytic functions are investigated for this class. Further subordination result and results on partial sums for this class are also found.

제한된 범위의 Signed-Digit Number 인코딩을 이용한 병렬 십진 곱셈기 설계 (Design of Parallel Decimal Multiplier using Limited Range of Signed-Digit Number Encoding)

  • 본 논문에서는 제한된 범위의 Signed-Digit number 인코딩과 축약 단계를 이용한 고정소수점 병렬 십진 곱셈기를 제안한다. 제안한 병렬 십진 곱셈기는 승수와 피승수를 제한된 범위의 SD number로 인코딩하여 캐리 전달 지연 없이 빠르게 부분곱을 생성한다. 인코딩에 사용하는 숫자의 범위를 줄임으로써 SD number 다중 피연산자 덧셈의 한번에 연산 가능한 피연산자의 개수가 늘어나게 되고, 이에 따라 부분곱 축약 단계의 연산을 빠르게 수행 할 수 있다. 제안한 병렬 십진 곱셈기의 성능 평가를 위해 Design Compiler에서 SMIC사의 180nm CMOS 공정 라이브러리를 이용하여 합성한 결과 기존의 Signed-Digit number를 이용한 병렬 십진 곱셈기보다 전체 지연시간은 4.3%, 전체 면적은 5.3% 감소함을 확인 하였다. 전체 지연시간 및 면적에서 부분곱 축약 단계가 차지하는 비중이 가장 크므로 부분곱 생성 단계에서 약간의 지연시간 및 면적 증가가 있음에도 불구하고 전체 지연시간과 면적이 감소하는 결과를 얻을 수 있다.

고분자 전해질 연료전지용 막가습기의 상대습도 추정을 위한 소프트센서 개발 (Soft Sensor Development for Predicting the Relative Humidity of a Membrane Humidifier for PEM Fuel Cells)

  • It is important to accurately measure and control the relative humidity of humidified gas entering a PEM (polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cell stack because the level of humidification strongly affects the performance and durability of the stack. Humidity measurement devices can be used to directly measure the relative humidity, but they cost much to be equipped and occupy spaces in a fuel cell system. We present soft sensors for predicting the relative humidity without actual humidity measuring devices. By combining FIR (finite impulse response) model with PLS (partial least square) and SVM (support vector machine) regression models, DPLS (dynamic PLS) and DSVM (dynamic SVM) soft sensors were developed to correctly estimate the relative humidity of humidified gases exiting a planar-type membrane humidifier. The DSVM soft sensor showed a better prediction performance than the DPLS one because it is able to capture nonlinear correlations between the relative humidity and the input data of the soft sensors. Without actual humidity sensors, the soft sensors presented in this work can be used to monitor and control the humidity in operation of PEM fuel cell systems.

Estimation of Brain Connectivity during Motor Imagery Tasks using Noise-Assisted Multivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition

  • The neural dynamics underlying the causal network during motor planning or imagery in the human brain are not well understood. The lack of signal processing tools suitable for the analysis of nonlinear and nonstationary electroencephalographic (EEG) hinders such analyses. In this study, noise-assisted multivariate empirical mode decomposition (NA-MEMD) is used to estimate the causal inference in the frequency domain, i.e., partial directed coherence (PDC). Natural and intrinsic oscillations corresponding to the motor imagery tasks can be extracted due to the data-driven approach of NA-MEMD, which does not employ predefined basis functions. Simulations based on synthetic data with a time delay between two signals demonstrated that NA-MEMD was the optimal method for estimating the delay between two signals. Furthermore, classification analysis of the motor imagery responses of 29 subjects revealed that NA-MEMD is a prerequisite process for estimating the causal network across multichannel EEG data during mental tasks.

Climatological Estimation of Sea Surface CO2 Partial Pressure in the North Pacific Oceans by Satellite data

  • As one of the key parameters to determine $CO_2$ flux between air - sea interface, it is quite important to know p$CO_2$, which has involved much uncertainty, mainly due to the complex variations of sea surface p$CO_2$ and the paucity of samples, made in ocean. In order to improve the interrelationship between partial pressure (p$CO_2$) and different physical and biochemical parameters in global sea surface water, a new empirical relation is established to correlate and parameterize p$CO_2$ in the mixed layer using the data from recent WOCE cruises. Meanwhile, by new empirical relation, abundant historical hydrographic and nutrients ship data, Levitus data set and NOAA/AVHRR(SST), p$CO_2$ have been accumulated and applied. Then effort has to be made fur promotion of this study to correlate and parameterize p$CO_2$ in the mixed Layer with different physical and biochemical parameters. and further attribute this huge historical data sets and NOAA/AVHRR(SST) data to estimate p$CO_2$. In this paper we analyzed more interrelationship between the model and ship/satellite data set. Finally, the inter-annual variations of p$CO_2$ in sea are presented and discussed.

  • All models of dynamical systems invariably have some measure of uncertainties associated with some of their dynamics. The recent approaches to establish robustness of stabilizing feedback control against the possible uncertainties have a serious limitation, that is, their applicability only to the systems that satisfy the matching conditions. Such conditions are rarely met in general applications. If a particular system satisfies the matching conditions, the addition of an actuator will destroy the satisfaction of such conditions. In this paper, we develop robust control algorithm for uncertain multivariable systems in which the matching conditions are not necessarily met. In order to eliminate an influence over partial state variables due to unknown constant disturbances we perform the appropriate block-decomposition for a given system. Functional observers are introduced to estimate the unknown constant disturbances. The sliding mode controller is designed in such a way that the partial state variables in the state-space are directed towards switching surfaces and regulated to the origin asymptotically. Numerical examples are discussed as illustrations.

  • We consider the following Dirichlet initial boundary value problem with a gradient absorption and a nonlocal source $$\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}t}-div({\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^{p-2}{\nabla}u)={\lambda}u^k{\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{\Omega}}}u^sdx-{\mu}u^l{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^q$$ in a bounded domain Ω ⊂ ℝN, where p > 1, the parameters k, s, l, q, λ > 0 and µ ≥ 0. Firstly, we establish local existence for weak solutions; the aim of this part is to prove a crucial priori estimate on |∇u|. Then, we give appropriate conditions in order to have existence and uniqueness or nonexistence of a global solution in time. Finally, depending on the choices of the initial data, ranges of the coefficients and exponents and measure of the domain, we show that the non-negative global weak solution, when it exists, must extinct after a finite time.

우리나라 성인의 치과의료이용 미수진 관련 요인 (Influencing factors of non-utilization of dental care among Korean adults: Using 2012 Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey)

  • Objectives: The objective of the study was to investigate the related factors of non-utilization of dental care among Korean adults. Methods: Korean National Health and Nutrition Survey 2012 was carried out in South Korea. A total of 5,589 adults were interviewed and examined. A multinominal logistic regression model was used to estimate the odds ratio with 95% confidence intervals for the non-utilization of dental care. Results: The non-utilization of dental care was shown to have a badly perceived oral health status, less toothbrushing before sleeping(OR=1.18: 95% CI=1.00-1.39), periodontitis symptoms (OR=1.82: 95% CI=1.50-2.22), toothache experience (OR=2.03: 95% CI=1.75-2.34), TMJ symptom experience (OR=3.31: 95% CI=2.74-3.99), speaking problem (OR=1.87: 95% CI=1.75-2.34) and a partial dentures needs (OR=2.49: 95% CI=1.93-3.19). Conclusions: The non-utilization of dental care tended to have badly perceived oral health status, less toothbrushing before sleeping, periodontitis, toothache experience, TMJ symptom experience, speaking problem, and partial dentures needs.

압축잔류응력장을 전파하는 피로균열의 개구거동의 유한요소법을 이용한 해석적 검토 (An Analysis of the Fatigue Crack Opening Behaviour in the Welding Residual Stress Field by the Finite Element Method)

  • The finite element analysis was performed for the cracks existing in residual stress fields in order to investigate the effects of configuration of residual stress distribution to the fatigue crack opening behaviour. And the variation of stress distributions adjacent to the crack caused by uploading was examined. The finite element model with contact elements for the crack plane and plane stress elements for the base material and the analytical method based on the superposition principle to estimate crack opening behaviour and the stress distribution adjacent to the crack subjected to uploading were used. The results of the analysis showed that crack opening behaviors and variations of stress distribution caused by uploading were changed depending on the configuration of residual stress distribution. When the crack existed in the region of compressive residual stress and the configuration of compressive residual stress distribution were inclined, a partial crack opening just behind of a crack tip occurred during uploading. Based on the above results, it was clarified that the crack opening behaviour in the residual stress field could be predicted accurately by the finite element analysis using these analytical method and model.
