The purpose of this study was to estimate the identification of thermophilic hacterial with fermentation of pig manure. To identify the characters of thermophilic bacteria related to fermentation at a high temperature condition, we selected 28 different kinds of original settling thermophilic bacteria that were sampled at different 23 areas. They were distributed 1$1{\times}10^5{\sim}10^8CFU$ at medium and the enzyme activity at $55^{\circ}C$ incubation condition, especially cellulase and a-amylase, were higher than those of $30^{\circ}C$. Partial sequencing data for 165 rDNA region were obtained from 28 samples representing 15 different genera. Bacillus subcilis, one of those bacteria, has endodermic spores at high fermented condition.

In this paper, we present a new analytical model that can precisely estimate the blocking performance of wavelength-routed WDM networks with sparse-partial-limited wavelength conversion (SPLWC). The proposed model accounts for the two sources of call blocking in a wavelength converter: range blocking originated from the limited conversion range of a wavelength converter; and capacity blocking induced from the limited number of wavelength converters. Based on the proposed model, we also present a new converter placement algorithm that minimizes the amount of wavelength conversion capability, while satisfying the given constraint on the network-wide blocking probability. From the numerical results obtained from the EON, we demonstrate that the blocking probability of the analytical model closely matches with that of the simulation. We also show that, by efficiently combining the existing sparse, partial, and limited wavelength conversion, the SPL WC can achieve the required blocking performance with the least amount of wavelength conversion cost.

In wireless communication systems, a frequency offset exist at the received signal due to the transmitter-receiver oscillator mismatch and Doppler effect in mobile environments. Those offsets rotate the received signal's phase and degrade the receiver performance. Hence, estimation and compensation of the frequency offset is crucial at the receiver. This paper proposes a new frequency offset estimation technique based on partial correlation. The proposed method requires less computational complexity than that of the conventional method. In addition, since the proposed one can estimate a wide range of frequency offset without estimation accuracy loss, the application of the method is desirable for the communication environments that have a large frequency offset. In order to verify the performance of our proposed scheme, a series of computer simulations have been carried out and compared against those of the conventional method.

Recently, with the development of IoT technology and AI, unmanned and automated in various fields, interest in video processing, which is the basis for automation such as object recognition and object classification, is increasing. Various studies have been conducted on noise removal in the video processing process, which has a significant impact on image quality and system accuracy and reliability, but there is a problem that it is difficult to restore images for areas with high impulse noise density. In this paper proposes a filter algorithm based on partial mask and Lagrange interpolation to restore the damaged area of impulse noise in the image. In the proposed algorithm, the filtering process was switched by comparing the filtering mask with the noise estimate and the purge weight was calculated based on the low frequency component and the high frequency component of the image to restore the image.

Software Reliability Growth Models (SRGMs) are useful for determining the software release date or additional testing efforts by using software failure data. It is not appropriate for a SRGM to apply to all software. And besides a large number of SRGMs have already been proposed to estimate software reliability measures. Therefore selection of an optimal SRGM for use in a particular case has been an important issue. The existing methods for selecting a SRGM use the entire collected failure data. However, initial failure data may not affect the future failure occurrence and, in some cases, it results in the distorted result when evaluating the future failure. In this paper, we suggest a method for selecting a SRGM based on the evaluation goodness-of-fit using partial data. Our approach uses partial data except for inordinately unstable failure data in the entire failure data. We will find a portion of data used to select a SRGM through the comparison between the entire failure data and the partial failure data excluded the initial failure data with respect to the predictive ability of future failures. To justify our approach this paper shows that the predictive ability of future failures using partial data is more accurate than using the entire failure data with the real collected failure data.

When eccentric or inclined load acts on foundation of the port & harbor structures, partial safety factors of bearing capacity limit state were estimated using reliability analysis. Current Korean technical standards of port and harbor structures recommend to estimate the geotechnical bearing capacity using the simplified Bishop method. In practice, however, simple method of comparing ground reaction resistance with allowable bearing capacity has been mostly used by design engineers. While the simple method gives just one number fixed but somewhat convenient, it could not consider the uncertainty of soil properties depending on site by site. Thus, in this paper, partial safety factors for each design variable were determined so that designers do perform reliability-based level 1 design for bearing capacity limit state. For these, reliability index and their sensitivities were gained throughout the first order reliability method(FORM), and the variability of the random variables was also considered. In order to verify partial safety factors determined here, a comparison with foreign design codes was carried out and were found to be reasonable in practical design.
A methodology has been presented for evaluating the partial safety factors on the sliding failure mode of vertical caissons of composite breakwaters and for determining the cross sections of those by Level I reliability-based design method. Especially, a mathematical model has been suggested for the sake of a consistency of code format as well as convenience of application in practical design, for which the uncertainties associated with buoyancy and its own weight can be taken into account straightforwardly. Furthermore, design criteria equation has been derived by considering accurately the effect of uplift pressure, so that the cross sections of caissons can be assessed which must be safe against the sliding failure. It has been found that cross sections estimated from partial safety factors proposed in this paper are in very good agreement with the results of Level II AFDA and Level III MCS under the same target probability of failure. However, partial safety factors of the Technical Standards and Commentaries for Port and Harbour Facilities in Japan and Coastal Engineering Manual in USA tend to estimate much bigger or smaller cross sections in comparison to the present results. Finally, many reliability re-analyses have been performed in order to conform whether the stability level of cross section estimated by Level I reliability-based design method is satisfied with the target probability of failure of partial safety factors or not.

When only partial information is available about equipment failures (installation date and amount, as well as failure and replacement rates), data on sufficiently large number of yearly populations of the components can be combined, and estimation of model parameters may be possible. The parametric models may then be used for forecasting of the system's short term future failure and for formulation of replacement strategies. We employ the Weibull distribution and show how we estimate its parameters from past failure data. Using Monte Carlo simulations, it is possible to assess confidence ranges of the forecasted component performance data.
This paper aims to propose a computational technique for estimating the region of attraction (RoA) for autonomous nonlinear systems. To achieve this, the collocation method is applied to approximate the Lyapunov function by satisfying the modified Zubov's partial differential equation around asymptotically stable equilibrium points. This method is formulated for n-scalar differential equations with two classes of basis functions. In order to show the efficiency of the suggested approach, some numerical examples are solved. Moreover, the estimated regions of attraction are compared with two similar methods. In most cases, the proposed scheme can estimate the region of attraction more efficient than the other techniques.

This paper presents a modified disturbance observer (MDOB) for controlling two arms of a manipulator designed for a home service robot. The MDOB is slightly different from the original DOB in that it uses an accelerometer to measure acceleration of the robot arm. Then it uses the acceleration to estimate the disturbance to cancel out in the control loop. Relying on the acceleration information of the robot arm, a partial model-based control structure is formed. Experimental studies of position control of 2 DOF robot arm are conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed position control by an MDOB method.
