다공성의 $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Ti_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$가 코팅된 $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ 관형 분리막의 제조 및 투과 특성 (Preparation and Oxygen Permeability of Tubular $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ Membranes with $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Ti_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$ Porous Coating Layer)

  • 다공성 $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Ti_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$로 코팅된 $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ 관형 분리막은 압출성형 및 dip coating 방법으로 제조 되었다. 코팅된 관형 분리막의 특성은 X-선 회절분석기(XRD)와 전자 주사 현미경(SEM)을 이용하여 분석하였으며, 분석결과 $2{\mu}m$의 다공성 코팅 층을 갖는 페롭스카이트 구조임을 알 수 있었다. 산소투과량 분석은 $750{\sim}950^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 공급측과 투과 측을 대기 중 공기와 진공으로 하여 수행되었다. 다공성의 $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Ti_{0.3}Fe_{0.7}O_{3-{\delta}}$로 코팅된 $Ba_{0.5}Sr_{0.5}Co_{0.8}Fe_{0.2}O_{3-{\delta}}$ 관형 분리막의 산소투과량은 $950^{\circ}C$에서 $3.2mL/min{\cdot}cm^2$로 코팅되지 않은 분리막보다 높게 나타났으며, 11일 동안의 장기 안정성 실험결과 코팅 층에 의해 안정성이 증가됨을 알 수 있었다.

  • Orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) 알고리듬은 underdetermined 시스템에서 희소 신호를 복구하는 대표적인 greedy 알고리듬으로 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 OMP 알고리듬의 반복과정에서 후보 support 집합들을 구성하여 마지막 반복과정에서 최소 잔차를 이용하는 multiple candidate matching pursuit (MuCaMP) 기법을 제안한다. MuCaMP 가 완벽한 신호 복원을 보장하기 위한 restricted isometry property (RIP)를 이용한 충분조건, ${\delta}_{N+K}<\frac{\sqrt{N}}{\sqrt{K}+3\sqrt{N}}$을 제시한다. 실험을 통해 후보 support 집합들의 크기에 따른 성능과 MuCaMP의 복원 성능이 기존의 기법들에 비해 우수함을 확인하였다.

Enzymatic Characteristics of steroid $\Delta^1$-dehydrogenase from Arthrobacter simplex

  • Steroid $\Delta^1$-dehydrogenase purified from hydrocortisone-induced cells of Arthrobacter simplex converted various 3-ketosteroids into their corresponding $\Delta^1$-dehydrogenated products. The transformation efficiencies depend upon the chemical structure of the steroids, especially length of the side chain at 17 position and hydroxyl groups at 11 and 17 positions. The Km values for androstenedione, the most favorable substrate examined, and hydrocortisone were 74 ${\mu}M$ and 294 ${\mu}M$, respectively. The optimum temperature and pH of the enzyme reaction were 35$^{\circ}C$ and pH 9, respectively, and the enzyme was relatively stable at the range from 20 to 35$^{\circ}C$ and from pH 5 to 10 after one hour of incubation. The enzyme activity was markedly inhibited in the presence of $Cu^{2+},\;Fe^{3+},\;Hg^{2+},\;Mo^{6+}$ ions, and somewhat inhibited by $Zn^{2+}$ and $Fe^{2+}$. $\alpha,\alpha'$-Dipyridyl that inhibits 9$\alpha$-hydroxylase and accumulates 1,4-androstadiene-3,17-dione from sterols revealed no inhibitory effect on this enzyme. EGTA showed inhibitory effect. $\beta$-Estradiol competitively inhibited the enzyme activity. Chemical modifications of the enzyme were attempted with several reagents. p-Hydroxymer-curibenzoate showed inhibition of the enzyme activity and protection of the substrate. This suggests that cysteine residue may be involved in the active site of the enzyme.

A Multiphase Compensation Method with Dynamic Element Matching Technique in Σ-Δ Fractional-N Frequency Synthesizers

  • A multiphase compensation method with mismatch linearization technique, is presented and demonstrated in a $\Sigma-\Delta$ fractional-N frequency synthesizer. An on-chip delay-locked loop (DLL) and a proposed delay line structure are constructed to provide multiphase compensation on $\Sigma-\Delta$ quantizetion noise. In the delay line structure, dynamic element matching (DEM) techniques are employed for mismatch linearization. The proposed $\Sigma-\Delta$ fractional-N frequency synthesizer is fabricated in a $0.18-{\mu}m$ CMOS technology with 2.14-GHz output frequency and 4-Hz resolution. The die size is 0.92 mm$\times$1.15 mm, and it consumes 27.2 mW. In-band phase noise of -82 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset and out-of-band phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset are measured with a loop bandwidth of 200 kHz. The settling time is shorter than $25{\mu}s$.

돼지감자로부터 분리된 Sesquiterpene Lactone의 세포독성 (Cytotoxity of Sesquiterpene Lactones from Leaves of Helianthus tuberosus L.)

  • The $CH_2Cl_2$ soluble part of the leaves of Helianthus tuberosus L. (Compositae) exhibited a potent cytotoxic activity against the cultured human tumor cell lines including A-549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, XF498 and HCT-15 in vitro. Bioassaydirected fractionation of the $CH_2Cl_2$ soluble part of this plant led to the isolation of four cytotoxic sesquiterpene lactones having ${\alpha}$-methylene-${\gamma}$-lactone ring in the molecule. On the basis of physical and spectral evidences, their structures were characterized as ${\Delta}^{4,15}$-isoatripliciolide tiglate (1), ${\Delta}^{4,15}$-isoatripliciolide methacrylate (2), budlein A isobutylate (3) and budlein A tiglate (4). The ${\Delta}^{4,15}$-isoatripliciolide tiglate (1) showed the most potent cytotoxic activity ($0.26{\mu}M<ED_{50}<2.16{\mu}M$) against all of the cell lines tested.

급속응고 Al-20wt%Si-5wt%Fe 합금분말 압출재의 강도에 관한 연구 (Fabrication of Rapidly Solidified Al-20wt%Si-5wt%Fe Alloy Powder and Mechanical Properties of its Extrudates)

  • Optical microstructures and mechanical properties of Na gas atomized Al-20Si-5Fe alloying powder and its hot extrudates were studied on 3 different types of powder size distribution. This powder showed the size distribution of 10~210 $\mu\textrm{m}$. Also the microstructures of $\alpha$-Al, primary and eutectic Si and needle shaped intermetallic compounds were observed by optical microscope. These needle shaped intermetallic compounds were identified as ${\delta}Al_4FeSi_2$- by XRD and EDX analysis. The ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of these alloy extrudates was increased from 324 to 390 MPa with decreasing powder size range from 120~210 $\mu\textrm{m}$ to 10~64 $\mu\textrm{m}$. A value of Micro-vic-kers hardness was simillar to the result of UTS. These extrudates showed better wear resistance than those of Al-20Si-2X(X : Ni, Cr, Zr), although they are insensitive to the size distribution. These results indicate that the presentation of ${\delta}Al_4FeSi_2$ intermetallic compounds contributed to the wear resistance improvement.

The Membrane-Bound NADH:Ubiquinone Oxidoreductase in the Aerobic Respiratory Chain of Marine Bacterium Pseudomonas nautica

  • Each oxidoreductase activity of the aerobic respiratory chain-linked NADH oxidase system in the marine bacterium Pseudomonas nautica was stimulated by monovalent cations including $Na^+,\;Li^+,\;and\;K^+$. In the presence of NADH or deamino-NADH as electron donors, $GH_2$ formation was approximately 1.3-fold higher in the presense of 0.08 M of $Na^+\;than\;K^+$, Whereas the other reductase activities were not significantly higher in $Na^+\;than\;K^+$. The optimal pH of NADH (or deamino-NADH):ubiquinone-1 oxidoreductase was 9.0 in the presence of 0.08 M NaCl. The activity of NADH (or deamino-NADH):ubiquinone-1 oxidoreductase was inhibited by about 33% with $60{\mu}M$ 2-heptyl-4-hydroxyquinoline-N-oxide (HQNO). The activity of NADH (deamino-NADH): ubiquinone-1 oxidoreductase was inhibited by about 32 to 38% with $80{\mu}M$ rotenone, whereas the activity was highly resistant to capsaicin. On the other hand, electron transfer from NADH or deamino-NADH to ubiquinone-1 generated a membrane potential (${\Delta}{\psi}$) which was larger in the presence of $Na^+$ than that observed in the absence of $Na^+$. The ${\Delta}{\psi}$ was almost completely collapsed by $5{\mu}M$ carbonylcyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone(CCCP), and approximately 50% inhibited by $100{\mu}M$ rotenone, or $60{\mu}M$ 2-heptyl-4-hydroxyquinoline (HQNO). Also, HQNO made the ${\Delta}{\psi}$ very unstable. The results suggest that the enzymatic and energetic properties of the NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase of P. nautica are quite different, compared with those of other marine halophilic bacteria.

T-DMB/DAB/FM 수신기를 위한 광대역 델타시그마 분수분주형 주파수합성기 (A Wideband ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ Frequency Synthesizer for T-DMB/DAB/FM Applications in $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS)

  • 본 논문은 다중대역 송수신기 CMOS RFIC 단일 칩을 위한 광대역 델타시그마 분수분주형 주파수합성기에 관한 것이다. 광대역 VCO의 LC Tank에 6-bit Switched Capacitor Array Bank를 작용하여 2340~3940 MHz의 출력주파수 범위를 가지도록 하였으며, 위상동기 전 Capacitor Bank Code를 선택하기위한 VCO Frequency Calibration 회로는 전체 주파수대역에서 $2{\mu}s$이하로 보정을 마치는 뛰어난 성능을 보여준다. 광대역 VCO로부터 T-DMB/DAB/FM Radio의 LO 신호를 생성하기 위해 선택 가능한 다중분주비 ${\div}2$, ${\div}16$, ${\div}32$를 가지는 LO 신호 발생기는 L-Band (1173 ~ 1973 MHz), VHF-III (147 ~ 246 MHz), VFH-II (74~123 MHz)에서 I/Q신호를 생성한다. Integrated Phase Noise는 전체 대역에서 0.8 degree RMS 이하로 측정되어 매우 낮은 위상잡음을 보여주었다. 또한, VCO Frequency Calibration 시간을 포함하는 주파수합성기의 전체 동기시간은 $50{\mu}s$ 이하로 측정되었다. 이 광대역 델타시그마 분수분주형 주파수합성기는 $0.13{\mu}m$ CMOS공정으로 제작되었으며, 1.2 V 전원전압에서 15.8 mA의 전류를 소모한다.

Electrophysiological Responses of ${\delta}-Opioid$ Receptor Expressed on HEK293 Cells

  • To explore electrophysiological properties of the ${\delta}-Opioid$ receptors artificially expressed in the mammalian cell, effect of an opioid agonist DPDPE $(1\;{\mu}M)$ on the voltage-sensitive outward currents was examined in the HEK293 (human embryonic kidney) cells transfected with ${\delta}-Opioid$ receptor cDNA cloned from NG-108-15 $(neuroblastoma\;{\times}\;glioma\;hybrid)$ cDNA library. Also studied were effects of 8-bromo-cyclic AMP and naloxone on DPDPE-induced changes in the voltage sensitive outward current. The voltage sensitive outward currents were recorded using perforated patch technique at room temperature. In the non-transformed HEK293 cells, DPDPE did not alter voltage sensitive outward current, indicating that no native ${\delta}-Opioid$ receptor had been developed. However, $(1\;{\mu}M)$ DPDPE remarkably increased the voltage sensitive outward current in the transformed HEK293 cells. The increment in voltage sensitive outward current peaked in $7{\sim}10\;minutes$ after DPDPE application, and the maximum DPDPE-activated outward current $(313.1{\pm}12.3\;pA)$ was recorded when the membrane potential was depolarized to +70mv. Following pretreatment of the transformed HEK293 cells with 1 mM 8-bromo-cyclic AMP, DPDPE failed to increase the voltage sensitive outward currents. On the other hand, naloxone completely abolished DPDPE-activated voltage sensitive outward current in the transformed HEK293 cells. The results of present study suggest that in the transformed HEK293 cells an activation of the ${\delta}-Opioid$ receptors by an opioid agonist DPDPE increases the voltage-sensitive potassium current as a result of decrement in cyclic AMP level.

Efficiency and Midgut Histopathological Effect of the Newly Isolated Bacillus thuringiensis KS ${\delta}$-Endotoxins on the Emergent Pest Tuta absoluta

  • Tuta absoluta (Povolny, 1994) is a devastating moth to the Solanaceae plants. It is a challenging pest to control, especially on tomatoes. In this work, we studied the entomopathogenic activity of the Cry-forming ${\delta}$-endotoxins produced by Bacillus thuringiensis strain KS and B. thuringiensis kurstaki reference strain HD1 against T. absoluta. These strains carried the cry2, cry1Ab, cry1Aa/cry1Ac, and cry1I genes, and KS also carried a cry1C gene. The ${\delta}$-endotoxins of KS were approximately twofold more toxic against the third instar larvae than those of HD1, as they showed lower 50% and 90% lethal concentrations (0.80 and 2.70 ${\mu}g/cm^2$ (${\delta}$-endotoxins/tomato leaf)) compared with those of HD1 (1.70 and 4.50 ${\mu}g/cm^2$) (p < 0.05). Additionally, the larvae protease extract showed at least six caseinolytic activities, which activated the KS and HD1 ${\delta}$-endotoxins, yielding the active toxins of about 65 kDa and the protease-resistant core of about 58 kDa. Moreover, the histopathological effects of KS and HD1 ${\delta}$-endotoxins on the larvae midgut consisted of an apical columnar cell vacuolization, microvillus damage, and epithelial cell disruption. These results showed that the KS strain could be a candidate for T. absoluta control.
