기계적 합금화로 제조한 N형 β의 상변화 및 열전 특성 (Phase Transformation and Thermoelectric Properties of N-tyre β Processed by Mechanical Alloying)

  • N-type ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ with a nominal composition of $Fe_{0.98}Co_{0.02}Si_2$ powders has been produced by mechanical alloying process and consolidated by vacuum hot pressing. As-milled powders were of metastable state and fully transformed to ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ phase by subsequent isothermal annealing. However, as-consolidated $Fe_{0.98}Co_{0.02}Si_2$ consisted of untransformed mixture of ${\alpha}-Fe_2Si_ 5$ and $\varepsilon$-FeSi phases. Isothermal annealing has been carried out to induce the transformation to a thermoelectric semiconducting ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ phase. The transformation behavior of ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ was investigated by utilizing DTA, a modified TGA under magnetic field, SEM, and XRD analyses. Isothermal annealing at $830^{\circ}C$ in vacuum led to the thermoelectric semiconducting ${\beta}-FeSi_2$ phase transformation, but some residual metallic $\alpha$ and $\varepsilon$ phases were unavoidable even after prolonged annealing. Thermoelectric properties were remarkably improved by isothermal annealing due to the transformation from metallic $\alpha$ and $\varepsilon$ phases to semiconducting phases.

  • Zero to tension fatigue tests and strain controlled fatigue tests were carried out to find how initial strain induced martensite, ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ affects low and high cycle fatigue behavior and fatigue crack growth mechanisms. Microscopic study and phase analysis were carried out with TEM, SEM, EDAX, Optical Microscope, Ferriscope, and X-ray diffractometry. The amount of Initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ was controlled from 0% to 33% by controlling the temperatures for cold working and heat treatment. Lower contents of initial ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ showed higher fatigue resistance in low cycle fatigue but lower fatigue resistance in high cycle fatigue because it is ascribed to the more transformation of ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ martensite during low cycle fatigue and higher ductility. In high cycle fatigue, fatigue life is attributed to the strength and phase transformation of austenite into ${\alpha}^{\prime}$ during fatigue was negligible. ${\gamma}$ boundary, ${\gamma}/twin$ boundary, and ${\gamma}/{\alpha}^{\prime}$ boundary were found to be the preferred site of fatigue crack initiation.

  • 비정질 WNx 박막이 반응성 스퍼터링법으로 제조되었다. 비정질 형성을 위한 질소의 농도범위는 10~40at%이었다. 비정질 W(sub)67N(sub)33 박막은 1273K에서 1분 동안 급속 열처리되어 저항이 낮은 등축정의 $\alpha$-텅스텐 상과 과잉의 질소로 변태되었다. 이러한 박막의 저항은 순수한 텅스텐 박막과 유사하였다. $\alpha$-텅스텐 상으로부터 방출된 과잉의 질소는 $\alpha$-텅스텐/다결정 실리콘의 계면에 편석되었다. 편석된 질소는 Si$_3$N$_4$나노 결정으로 균일한 확산 장벽층을 형성시켰고, 저항이 높은 텅스텐 실리사이드의 반응을 억제하였다.

Effects of PGF2 α and GnRH during Different Ovarian Status at Onset of Puberty in Murrah Buffalo Heifers (Bubalus bubalis)

  • The objective of the investigation was to study the effect of intramuscular $PGF_2\;{\alpha}$ and GnRH on estrus behavior and ovarian response in Murrah buffalo heifers. Twelve Murrah buffalo heifers at 32 months of age that had not exhibited behavioral estrus symptom were included in the experiment. Out of 12,4 heifers were in follicular phase (plasma estradiol $57.05{\pm}12.52pg/ml$), another 4 heifers were in luteal phase (Plasma progesterone $2.24{\pm}0.25ng/ml$) while the ovaries of remaining four heifers were inactive (estradiol $23.70{\pm}1.66pg/ml$and progesterone $0.32{\pm}0.06ng/ml$). $PGF_2\;{\alpha}$ (25 mg, Lutalyse, im) and GnRH (200 ug, Fertagyl, iv) was administered to each heifer at interval of 10 days. The plasma progesterone concentration decreased within 48 hrs after $PGF_2\;{\alpha}$ injection and followed thereafter with follicular growth, estrus and ovulation. GnRH administration induced follicular growth, elevation of plasma estradiol concentration with subsequent exhibition of behavioral estrus in 2 out of 4 heifers having inactive ovary. The observation reveals that Murrah buffalo heifers at 32 months of age have developed receptors for $PGF_2\;{\alpha}$ and GnRH on ovarian and pituitary tissue respectively and response the single injection of $PGF_2\;{\alpha}$ and GnRH similar to the mature cycling animals.

콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료가 육계 병아리의 생산성과 TNF-$\alpha$ 및 Ovotransferrin 생합성에 미치는 영향

  • 크릴밀 사료가 육계병아리의 생산성을 감소시키는 경향을 완화하기 위하여 항산화작용이 있은 콩추출물이 함유된 크릴밀을 급여하여 육계병아리의 생산성을 조사하고, 파두유의 피하주입으로 급성기반응을 발생시켜 비장세표와 PBMC 증식도, 그리고 TNF-$\alpha$와 Ovotranferrin의 발현에 미치는 콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료의 영향을 조사하였다. 육계 병아리에서 콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료는 생산성을 증가시켰다. 급성기 반응시 콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료는 비장세포의 증식도를 낮추나 PBMC의 증식조는 높았다. 혈장내 순환 TNF-$\alpha$와 Ovotranferrin의 농도는 콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료 급여로 감소하였다. 본 성적은 콩 추출물 함유 크릴밀 사료가 육계 병아리의 급성기 반응에 관여하고 있다는 것을 나타내었다.

Fe와 V이 Zr-0.8Sn 합금의 $\beta{\rightarrow}\alpha$ 상변태 특성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Fe and V on the Characteristics of $\beta$to$\alpha$ Transformation for Zr-0.8Sn Alloys)

  • Zr-0.86Sn 합금이 $\beta{\rightarrow}\alpha$상변태 특성에 미치는 Fe와 V의 영향을 광학현미경과 투과전자현미경으로 연구하였다. 공냉의 경우에는 V의 첨가량이 증가함에 다라 $\beta{\rightarrow}\alpha+\beta$변태온도가 감소하여 미세한 $\alpha$-lath들의 폭을 더욱 감소시켰으나, Fe의 경우에는 첨가량이 증가함에 다라 오히려 $\alpha$-lath의 폭이 약간 증가하였다. 수냉의 경우에는 모든 합금에서 martensite 미세구조를 보였다. 수냉한 Zr-0.8Sn, Zr-0.8Sn-0.1Fe, Zr-0.8Sn-0.2Fe, Zr-0.8Sn-0.4Fe, Zr-0.8Sn-0.1V 그리고 Zr-0.8Sn-0.2V 합금에서는 주로 slipped martensite 미세구조가 형성된 반면에 수냉한 Zr-0.8Sn-0.4V 합금에서는 twinned martensite 미세구조가 관찰하였다. 수냉한 Zr-0.8Sn 합금에서 V의 첨가향이 증가함에 따라 slipped martensite에서 twinned martensite 미세구조로의 천이는 M(sub)s 온도의 감소에 기인한 것으로 생각된다.

Fe-29%Ni-17%Co 저열팽창성 합금의 기계적 및 열팽창 특성에 미치는 냉간 가공의 영향 (Effect of cold working on the thermal expansion and mechanical properties of Fe-29%-Ni-17%Co low thermal expansion alloy)

  • The change of thermal expansion and mechanical behaviors by cold working has been investigated in Fe-29%Ni-17%Co low thermal expansion Kovar alloy. Fe-29%Ni-17%Co alloy was cold rolled gradually and prepared to plates having reduction ratio of 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%. Annealing effect on the properties was also studied. Thermal expansion was measured from $25^{\circ}C$ to $600^{\circ}C$ with a heating rate of $5^{\circ}C$/min by using vacuum differential dilatometer. It was found that thermal expansion coefficient ($\alpha_{30{\sim}400}$) slightly decreased (reduction ration of 20%) and then remarkably increased (above reduction ration of 40%) with increasing reduction ratio of cold rolling. Thermal expansion coefficient ($\alpha_{30{\sim}400}$) was sharply decreased after annealing heat-treatment. Yield and tensile strengths were continuously increased and elongation was decreased by cold roiling. Microstructural observation and X-ray diffraction analysis results showed that the $\alpha$ phase significantly increased as the reduction ratio increased. The slight decrease of thermal expansion coefficient bellow reduction ration of 20% could be explained by the destroying short-range ordering and the decreasing of grain size. The significant increase of thermal expansion coefficient with cold rolling mainly attributed to the appearance of $\alpha$ phase. The correlation between the microstructural cause and invar phenomena for the low thermal expansion behavior was also discussed.

  • Nd 함유량을 2~6at.%로 변화시킨 $\alpha$-(Fe, Co)-B-Nb-Cu 초미세결정립합금의 미세조직 및 자기특성을 조사하였다. 급속응고된 Ndx(Fe0.9Co0.1)90-xB6Nb3Cu1(2$\leq$x$\leq$6, 1at.% 간격) 합금은 x=3 이상에서 비정질상으로 제조되었다. 제조된 비정질합금은 열처리에 의해 $\alpha$-(Fe, Co) 및 Nd2(Fe, Co)14B1상으로 구성된 초미세결정립합금으로 결정화 되었다. 최적열처리조건에서 잔류자화는 Nd의 증가에 따라 감소하며, x=3에서 1.55T로 최대 값을 나타내었다. 보자력은 Nd함유량 증가에 따라 직선적으로 증가하여 x=6에서 4.6kOe이었으며, 최대에너지적은 10.6MGOe였다.

Mechanically Driven Decomposition of Intermetallics

  • Mechanically driven decomposition of intermetallics during mechanical milling(MM 1 was investigated. This process for Fe-Ce and Fe-Sn system was studied using conventional XRD, DSC, magnetization and alternative current susceptibility measurements. Mechanical alloying and milling form products of the following composition (in sequence of increasing Gecontent): $\alpha$(${\alpha}_1$) bcc solid solution, $\alpha$+$\beta$-phase ($Fe_{2-x}Ge$), $\beta$-phase, $\beta$+FeGe(B20), FeGE(B20), FeGe(B20)+$FeGe_2$,$FeGe_2$,$FeGe_2$+Ge, Ge. Incongruently melting intermetallics $Fe_6Ge_5$ and $Fe_2Ge_3$ decompose under milling. $Fe_6Ge_5$ produces mixture of $\hat{a}$-phase and FeGe(B20), $Fe_2Ge_3$ produces mixture of FeGe(B20) and $FeGe_2$ phases. These facts are in good agreement with the model that implies local melting as a mechanism of new phase for-mation during medchanical alloying. Stability of FeGe(B20) phase, which is also incongruently melting compound, is explained as a result of highest density of this phase in Fe-Ge system. Under mechanical milling (MM) in planetary ball mill, FeSn intermetallic decomposes with formation $Fe_5Sn_3$ and $FeSn_2$ phases, which have the biggest density among the phases of Fe-Sn system. If decomposition degree of FeSn is relatively small(<60%), milled powder shows superparamagnetic behavior at room temperature. For this case, magnetization curves can be fitted by superposition of two Langevin functions. particle sizes for ferromagnetic $Fe_5Sn_3$ phase determined from fitting parameters are in good agreement with crystalline sizes determined from XRD data and remiain approximately chageless during MM. The decomposition of FeSn is attributed to the effects of local temperature and local pressure produced by ball collisions.
