한강수계 유량곡선식 개발 및 수질오염물질 항목간 상관성 분석에 관한 연구- 벽계천 중심으로 - (Study on the Analysis of Development of Stage-Discharge Curve for Han River and Correlation between Items of Water Pollutants- Focused on Byeokgyeo Stream -)

  • We drew the stage-discharge relations of Byeokgye Stream, located in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, and analysed the correlation between items of water pollutants by measuring the flow rate and water pollutants thirty-four times from April 2010 to December 2010. The results showed that it tended to be low water season from April to June and from October and December, while tending to be water season from July to September. The average flow rate was $2.137\;m^3/sec:\;0.464\;m^3/sec$ in low water season and $13.970\;m^3/sec$ in high water season. The stage-discharge curve thereon was $Q=40.107{\times}(h-1.200)^{2.877}$. As to the correlations, the correlation between the water temperature and COD was 0.58, and the correlations of SS with BOD and COD were 0.46 and 0.40 respectively. The correlation between SS and T-P was 0.73, showing higher than other items.

사회계정행렬을 이용한 수자원분야 정책 효과 분석 (The Economic Impact Analysis on the Water Industry with Social Accounting Matrix)

  • 본 논문은 수자원 정책이 우리 경제에 미치는 파급 효과를 추정하기 위해 사회계정행렬을 적용한 연구이다. 수자원부문의 사회계정행렬 작성에는 "2009년 산업연관표"와 "2009년 국민계정", "2009년 가계소비실태조사" 등의 통계 자료 등이 활용되었다. 승수분석을 이용하여 수자원부문의 정책 효과를 추정한 결과, 1) 총산출 승수 효과는 5.300~7.741, 2) 부가가치 승수 효과는 0.685~1.158, 3) 가계소득 승수 효과는 0.511~0.984, 4)가계소득 재분배 승수 효과는 -0.096~0.247과 같았다. 본 연구결과는 수자원부문이 우리나라 경제 및 가계에 미치는 효과를 분석하는 데 있어 유의미하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

미래 기후변화에 따른 농업용 저수지 용수공급의 불확실성 (Uncertainty of Water Supply in Agricultural Reservoirs Considering the Climate Change)

  • The impact and adaption on agricultural water resources considering climate change is significant for reservoirs. The change in rainfall patterns and hydrologic factors due to climate change increases the uncertainty of agricultural water supply and demand. The quantitative evaluation method of uncertainty based on agricultural water resource management under future climate conditions is a major concern. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the vulnerability management technique for agricultural water supply based on a probabilistic and stochastic risk evaluation theory. The objective of this study was to analyse the uncertainty of water resources under future climate change using probability distribution function of water supply in agricultural reservoir and demand in irrigation district. The uncertainty of future water resources in agricultural reservoirs was estimated using the time-specific analysis of histograms and probability distributions parameter, for example the location and the scale parameter. According to the uncertainty analysis, the future agricultural water supply and demand in reservoir tends to increase the uncertainty by the low consistency of the results. Thus, it is recommended to prepare a resonable decision making on water supply strategies in terms of using climate change scenarios that reflect different future development conditions.

백운산 지역에서 계류수의 이화학적 성질에 미치는 양어장 개발의 영향 (Influences of Fish Farm Development on the Physicochemistry of Stream Water Quality in (Mt.) Paekun Area)

  • Quantifications of fish farm influences on stream water quality may provide basic informations on watershed management to reduce environmental impact due to fish farm development and to conserve stream water quality in forested watershed area. In this research stream water qualities around (Mt.) Paekun area were monitored by seasons and the following results were obtained. Due to the increase of pH in effluent water from the fish farm it was believed that alkalization of stream water can be accelerated by large scale development of fish farms in the forested watershed area. Negative effects on stream water quality was also observed by indications of increase in electrical conductivity and temperature of effluent water from the fish farm. Decreases of physicochemical indexes such as the amount of dissolved oxygen, percentage of dissolved oxygen and total amount of ion in effluent water from the fish farm were also negative aspects in downstream ecology. It is recommended that water purification system as well as eco-friendly fish farm design be incorporated to large scale fish farm development plan in forested watershed area.

생태수질기준설정을 위한 대상물질의 생태위해성 평가 (Ecological Risk Assessment of Chemicals of Concern for Initiation of Ecorisk-based Water Quality Standards in Korea)

  • Current water quality standard (WQS) in Korea is based on the protection of human health, not considering the protection of aquatic organisms. Most of chemicals can be toxic to ecological biota as well as human. Health of aquatic biota is closely related to the human health via food chain, therefore ecological risk based-WQS needs to be developed to protect the aquatic ecosystem. In this study, we selected the 31 chemicals in the Project entitled 'Development of integrated methodology for evaluation of water environment'. The methodology for calculating water quality criteria was derived from the Australian and New Zealand processes for deriving guideline trigger value for aquatic ecosystem. The available ecotoxicity data were collected from US EPA's ECOTOXicology Database (ECOTOX), TOX-2000 Database, European Chemicals Bureau (ECB)'s International Uniform Chemical Information Database (IUCLID) and Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA)'s report 'Ambient Water Quality Criteria (AWQC)'. The aquatic toxicity data for the Korean species were selected for risk assessment to reflect the Korean water environment. The monitoring values were calculated from the water quality monitoring data four main Korean rivers. We suggested the order of priorities of chemicals based on ecological risk assessment. We expect that these results can be useful information for establishing the WQS for the protection of aquatic ecosystem.

이앙시기 및 담수심 변화에 따른 논벼 수요량 변화 분석 (Analysis of Variance of Paddy Water Demand Depending on Rice Transplanting Period and Ponding Depth)

  • This study evaluated variations in the paddy rice water demand based on the continuous changing in rice transplanting period and ponding depth at the four study paddy fields, which represent typical rice producing regions in Korea. Total 7 scenarios on rice transplanting periods were applied while minimum ponding depth of 0 and 20 mm were applied in accordance with maximum ponding depth ranging from 40 mm to 100 mm with 20 mm interval. The weather data from 2013 to 2019 was also considered. The results indicated that the highest rice water demand occurred at high temperature and low rainfall region. Increased rice transplanting periods showed higher rice water demand. The rice water demand for 51 transplanting days closely matched with the actual irrigation water supply. In case of ponding depth, the results showed that the minimum ponding depth had a proportional relationship with rice water demand, while maximum ponding depth showed the contrary results. Minimum ponding depth had a greater impact on rice water demand than the maximum ponding depth. Therefore, these results suggest that increasing the rice transplanting period, which reflects the current practice is desirable for a reliable estimation of rice water demand.

대규모 유역에서의 적정 용수이용량 산정 (Optimal Estimation of Water Use in the Large-Scale Basin)

  • In general method to estimate the water supplies in the large-scale basin, indirect estimation method such as unit loading factor method has been used. However, the estimated water supplies are much different to the real water supplies used in the any basin because these general methods estimate them considering water supply demands only. Especially, water supplies for irrigation are big different to the real water supplies in which the water supplies for irrigation are depend on the weather conditions such as evaporation, basin conditions such as infiltration, the reservoir operation rule for irrigation water, and distribution methods. Thus, a new estimation method is developed to estimate the real water demands which is essential factors for the effective water resources operation in the basin. This method is for estimating the water supplies and return rates based on the survey of the irrigation reservoirs and the analysis of effects to the stream flows, return flows, and water supplies for irrigation which water supplies and return rates are used in the basin water management model. The water supply usages in each subbasin are validated by comparisons between the simulated discharges from the basin water management model and the discharges measured in the control points.

다중수원을 활용한 멀티워터 루프시스템의 표준화방안 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on Standardization Method Establishment of Multi Water-Loop System using Multi Water Resources)

  • Multi water-loop system is the efficient customer centered facilities of water supply by utilizing the multi water resources. Multi water-loop system is divided into various types. The system is classified potable and non-potable type. Mostly, the potable type utilizes surface water and ground water. However, the non-potable type utilize the multi water resources, such as rain water, sea water, reclaimed water, etc. Selective intake is possible when characteristics of region, physiographic condition and purpose of use are considered. For instance, downtown type, new-city type, agriculture type, island type are available. For development and application of these multi water-loop system, standardization is needed. For standardization, several methods are given; design principles, selection and composition method of multi water-loop system structure, BIM/GIS application method, safety inspection method. Consequently, a road map of design standardization method can be established. In this road map, there are three parts for the standardization of multi water-loop system. Three parts are the considerations, base material and ways of standardization. Design standardization become close when this road map followed by someone who plan the multi water-loop system. In this way, loop system's development is more efficient and economic. In hereafter research, each type's characteristic will be analysed and standardization methods can be established.

서울지역 일부 국민학교의 음용수 이용에 관한 연구 (A study on the drinking water for some primary school in Seoul)

  • The aims of this study are to enhance the students' knowledge of the drinking water and its reliability by investigating drinking water situation and the degree of students' knowledge on the drinking water. The results are as follows 1. Status and drinking behavior about school drinking water (1) 97.53% of the schools are using the tap water as the resource of drinking water (2) 46 schools are in possession of water tank and 18 schools of them are using the water tank as the resource of drinking water. The cleaning and sanitization of the tank are carried out once in a year with hypochloronatrium by the low-level officials, nurse teachers, and dietitian. 2. The degree of students' knowledge about drinking water (i) This survey represent that students favor the spring water best and think the tap water worst for drinking. (2) 83% of the students think that the tap water is polluted and these conception are formed mostly by the mass communication. 80% of boys and 90% of girls answered they don't drink plain tap water.

Water body extraction in SAR image using water body texture index

  • Water body extraction based on backscatter information is an essential process to analyze floodaffected areas from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) image. Water body in SAR image tends to have low backscatter values due to homogeneous surface of water, while non-water body has higher backscatter values than water body. Non-water body, however, may also have low backscatter values in high resolution SAR image such as Kompsat-5 image, depending on surface characteristic of the ground. The objective of this paper is to present a method to increase backscatter contrast between water body and non-water body and also to remove efficiently misclassified pixels beyond true water body area. We create an entropy image using a Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and classify the entropy image into water body and non-water body pixels by thresholding of the entropy image. In order to reduce the effect of threshold value, we also propose Water Body Texture Index (WBTI), which measures simultaneously the occurrence of repeated water body pixel pair and the uniformity of water body in the binary entropy image. The proposed method produced high overall accuracy of 99.00% and Kappa coefficient of 90.38% in water body extraction using Kompsat-5 image. The accuracy analysis indicates that the proposed WBTI method is less affected by the choice of threshold value and successfully maintains high overall accuracy and Kappa coefficient in wide threshold range.
