The Purpose of this study is to predict farm size per farming household in Chungcheongnam-province by using the Markov chains and Quadratic Programming.. The results are as follows; First, small-scale farms with less than 1.0ha of land are predicted to be still more than half (of total farming households) in 2025 as well. Second, large-scale farms with 3.0ha-5.0ha land and extra large-scale farms with over 5.0ha of land are predicted to gradually expand their proportion in total farm scale. Third, middle-scale farms with 1.0ha-3.0ha land are forecasted to be reduced in their relative proportion. It is required to take into account regional characteristics to improve the effectiveness of a rice industry policy. Therefore, this study has some significance in attempting to research on the ownership structure of rice production areas in consideration of target regions.

This paper analyses the interrelationship among wholesale price, trading volumes, import volumes and demand for three agricultural products (cabbage, onions, and garlic) by using the consumer panel and the data from the Korea Rural Economic Institute and the Korea Customs Service with a VAR model. The results are summarized as below. (1) The prices of three agricultural products decrease when trading volumes increase while the price of cabbage and onions decreases when import volumes increase. But the prices of three agricultural products have little effects on trading volumes. (2) The demand of three agricultural products increases when trading volumes increase while the demand of cabbage and onions increases when import volumes increase. (3) when demand of garlic and cabbage increases by 10%, their price increases by 2.5% and 1.3% respectively. And the demand of garlic has positive effects on import volumes of garlic.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the structural relationships between adult educators' instructional leadership, learners' motivation and performance among those participants in education for urban-rural migration. The survey was conducted among 22 agricultural educational institutions in South Korea, and a total number of 1,109 learners responded to a questionnaire. In order to verify the hypothesized research model, the collected data were analyzed with structural equation modeling. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, adult educators' instructional leadership had a direct effect and an indirect effect on learners' performance. Second, adult educators' instructional leadership had a direct effect on learners' motivation. Third, learners' motivation had a direct effect on learners' performance.

Returning to farming and rural village is one of the most hot social issues in Korea. Therefore, the government has tried to make up a policy program, which aims to support for the urban residents to get appropriate informations and to make right decisions about returning to farming and rural village. For the sparsely populated rural communities, this phenomena are some good opportunities for their sustainable development. The government needs the resasonale prospect on returning to farming and rural village, because their policy program should be made on the basis sound data and information. But, with the current data about returning to farming in Korea, it is impossible to make an econometrical model that can forecast the population who will return to farming and rural village. So, we tried a delphi method to sketch the future returning to farming and rural village. The delphi panels gave us some prospects on the issues. They anticipated that the population of returning to farming will increase for the next five years. And, they recommended some policy directions.

The community development program is a project to design to develop rural areas and to enhance the situation of rural community. Participation in community development is the key to promoting efficiency for community development. The purpose of this study was to discuss the result of application of learning phase for capacity building of community development. This study examined cases from rural area, using examples from eight communities that have been able to get people's participation. These examples suggest that the learning phases for rural communities include five important factors: sharing the perception, setting a goal, goal refinement, empowerment, vision setting. After completing the rural community development program, the result of each steps were analyzed. The result of this study contributes to knowledge about phase for capacity building in the community development and suggests ways to increase of effectiveness of rural development program and promote participation based on an understanding of a rural community development context.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the changes of time series, the use by farm type and the causes of farm household debt. First, the mid and long term changes in farm household debt over the past 50 years have increased. Since 2010, the share of non-agricultural debt has exceeded the share of agricultural debt. Second, as a result of the analysis of the farm household debt use by farm type - full time&part time, farming type, land size, age, family members - there was a difference between the agricultural and the non-agricultural debt according to the type of farm household in a significant level of 1%. Finally, as a result of the cause analysis of the farm household debt, the related non-agricultural expenditure variables and the dummy variable of the manager's age, family member and land size has a common influence on the farm household debt increase.
