The study investigated the Integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to the Library and Information Science Curriculum: The Practicum in Library Schools in Rivers State. Descriptive survey design was used with a population 374 comprising 21 LIS educators and 353 Four Hundred Level Library and Information Science Students from University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Port Harcourt. Census sampling technique was used to select the LIS educators and purposive sampling technique was used to the select the Four Hundred Level LIS students. Questionnaire and checklist were used for data collection. 90% and 97% responses were found valid for analysis for LIS Educators and LIS students respectively. The study was analyzed using mean rating, standard deviation and simple percentage. The study revealed that ICT courses were integrated into LIS curriculum in Library schools in Rivers State but LIS educators lacked the ICT skills to teach ICT practicum consequently, the students were not properly taught ICT practicum. However, students had positive perception of ICT practicum. Notwithstanding, lack of ICT skills, poor policy implementation, lack of state-of-the-art infrastructure and nonchalant attitudes of staff towards the adoption of ICT constituted the challenges faced in the implementation of ICT practicum. The study therefore, recommended that the management of library schools in Rivers State should implement ICT practicum by hiring competent staff maybe from computers science department to teach the practicum for the interim. Subsequently, recruitment of librarians should include strictly ICT compliant.

This research investigates the availability of information resources for visually impaired students in University libraries in Nigeria; a tool for inclusive University education. A Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study and a total number of 20 University libraries took parts in the study. A self-constructed online questionnaire was designed and distributed to collect the data from respondents (librarians) using a simple random sampling technique. A total of 45 respondents filled out the online questionnaire, but 40 were valid and useful for analysis. The use of frequency count and percentages method of data analysis was adopted for this research work. The study reveals that most of the University libraries lacked information resources for visually impaired students, it was found that the inclusion of information resources for visually impaired persons will promote inclusive education and librarians' skills. The challenges hindering the availability of information resources to the visually impaired students are insufficient funds for maintenance, erratic power supply and inadequate skills by users, among others. Recommendations were made for the campaign for inclusive education and the provision of information resources for visually impaired students.

A person's job performance is the result of their efforts, influenced by their skills, personality, and perceptions of their role. Job performance is the execution of statutory obligations or functions based on the area of expertise of library personnel that are directed toward achieving the library's goals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of staff motivation and self-efficacy on the job performance of library personnel in Kwara State, Nigeria. The descriptive survey approach of correlational type was used in this investigation. To cover all the library personnel at the participating public libraries in Kwara State, Nigeria, total enumeration or census survey methodologies were used. Eight objectives are used to steer this investigation. The findings demonstrated a significant correlation between staff motivation and job performance, while self-efficacy and job performance have a significant negative relationship. The authors recommend that library personnel who receive training, particularly training focused on providing them with development chances, may perceive that the organization values them as individuals, which increases their sense of self-worth and, as a result, helps them create stronger job performance.

Purpose - The purpose of this study was to investigate data aspects in Library and Information Science curricula at all levels in selected African Universities. Design/methodology/approach - A review of existing literature on data aspects and LIS Curricula. Secondly, the study juxtaposed web-based courses for fourteen LIS schools to establish data aspects incorporated into their curricula. Findings - The study's findings found that although many LIS schools have some form of data aspects in curricula, coverage is still very limited and basic.

The Digitalia MUNI ARTS - a local node of the LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ research infrastructure at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University constitutes a repository in the Islandora system. It is used for long-term preservation of research data together with their research environment in the form of digital platforms. We transfer the digital outputs of humanities scholars research to the repository according to a set plan, which is based on best practice recommendations for project management and digital curation. In this paper, we present how the results of interviews with platform developers and infrastructure stakeholders translate into the curation workflow, and a resulting model for migrating digital platforms to the repository. Reflecting on three types of problems we encountered during the implementation of platforms into the repository - communication problems, problems of external dependence, and management problems - we describe a modification of the migration process. We present six recommendations for repository administrators and curators in an academic setting - holding an introductory meeting with developers, researching significant and relevant theories of knowledge domain, consulting license experts, prioritizing requirements, and preparing handover protocol and progress reports.

In this study, it was intended to explore a way to build a DB which links the resources and areas and regions already registered as cultural assets in connection with a project which is newly building local culture and arts resources. Towards this end, this study first identified the type and scale of existing local culture and arts resources that could be linked. Following which, to link the local cultural resources and collected cultural assets, this study investigated the websites such as the Cultural Heritage Administration's National Cultural Heritage Portal, municipal and provincial tangible cultural festivals, municipal and provincial intangible cultural assets, and Gyeonggi Memory. Furthermore, this study identified the amount of information sources to be built and the current status of each information source to identify detailed information sources. Finally, the metadata of local culture and arts resources were presented by classifying them into material and publication data metadata, document metadata, audiovisual metadata, oral recording metadata, village information metadata, and personal information village information metadata.
