A reduction of induced drag is an important problem in order to save fuels. In this study, the aerodynamic characteristics of wing tip devices to reduce induced drag, such as end plate, plain ring, helical ring wing tip device, was experimentally investigated in a low speed wind tunnel. The experimental results showed that the wing model with a helical ring wing tip device reduced a induced drag and increased lift-drag ratio.

The purpose of the present paper is to determine the time required and error tolerance limits for flight data computation. The results of statistical analysis showed that the calculator side computation required about 50 seconds for each question and wind side computation needed about 115 seconds for each question. In case of error tolerance limits, it was found that the error tolerance limit for altitude computation war 90 feet and two knots of interval was recommanded for the speed computation in calculator side, and one degree of interval for heading computation and five knots interval for speed computation in wind side.

한국의 항공산업은 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 괄목할 만한 성장을 이루었으나, 그 규모에 비해 행해진 사회과학적 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구는 한국 군 출신 조종사들이 민간 항공조종사로 전환시 그 적응을 돕기 위한 교육 프로그램에 있어서 주요 고려사항들에 중점을 두었다. 이러한 고려사항들을 찾아내고 선별하는 것을 돕기 위하여 국내 두 항공사의 현역 조종사들 중 군 경력자들을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며 그 설문 결과를 SPSS에 의해 분석을 하였다. 분석 결과 국내 항공사의 전환 교육 프로그램이 군 출신 조종사들이 민간 항공 조종사로 적응하는데 필요한 임무의 차이점이나 CRM, 영어 교육 및 기술적 환경변화 등을 효과적으로 준비시키는데 적절치 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이는 군 경력 조종사들의 민간 항공 전환시 그 적응을 돕기 위한 개별적인 교육 프로그램이 필요함을 예시해 주고 있다.

This paper was studied to present a model for the application of AHP to the selection of fighter planes. For this study, a questionnaire was developed in respect to the criteria of fighter plane and given to 70 reserved officers who had experienced as fighter pilots in Republic of Korean Air Force (ROKAF) to ask their opinions about the candidates for the next-generation fighter planes of the ROKAF. The AHP software developed by Korean Advanced Institute of Science Technology (KAIST) was used to process the data. The result was analyzed by the criteria of selecting military aircraft and the several alternatives for the next-generation fighter planes.

The study proved the fitness between competitive strategy and service operation strategy of service companies. The competitive strategy of a corporation is a major strategy playing the role of bridge linking both corporate strategy and functional strategy. And it is a choice of method how to win competitors in given area. There have been such a specific methodologies for acquiring competitive advantage as Porters competitive strategy, Miles and Snows adaptive strategy, and Life cycle strategy. But, many scholars have pointed that its more important for high corporate performance to determine the competitive strategy of a corporation fitting the external environment and internal structure. So its needed for successful cost-leadership or differentiation strategy to differentiate organizational function, resources, and various organizational factors. But there have been no methodologies or practical guidelines fitting competitive strategy, corporate structure, and external environment in sprite do service corporations growth. So, the study proved the fitness between competitive strategy and service operation structure in Airlines after selecting service structural elements necessary for strategic management.

In order to research the propriety of selection of 4 potential airport sites after a field investigation is made in JEONJU area, this paper analyzes those sites comparatively considering major factors required by FAA. There are at least 10 factors that should be considered when analyzing potential airport sites : convenience to users, availability of land and land costs, design and layout of the airport, airspace obstructions, engineering factors, social and environmental factors, availability of utilites, atmospheric conditions, hazards, coordination with other airports.

In this paper, the term "Privatization" in the context of airports is defined as the movement of an entity from the government sector to the private sector. This is the definition that is commonly employed in the U.S. Airport revenue can he divided into two sub-categories of aeronautical revenue and non-aeronautical revenue. At many of the major international airports, however, non-aeronautical revenue has been growing faster than the aeronautical revenue, contributing an increasingly larger share of the total revenue. And the best way to enhance simultaneously the airport operations. With the remarkable growth in the air traffic volume of pssengers and cargo. more and more mega-international airports have been built or are under construction. As the air transport demand is expected to increase at an even greater rate in the 21st century, new types of airports which will be free of current major problems. such as airport congestion and flight delays are badly needed.

The purpose of this research is to look for the best description of calculating the reasonable Landing Fee. Landing Fee is consisted one of major revenues for maintaining an airport. Traditional Landing Fee Rate has been charged based on the weight factor; Maximum take-off weight, Maximum landing weight, or Maximum authorized weight. To achieve a better reliable value of Landing Fee Rate, The elements of Noise and Peak-Time have to be considered as well as the aircraft weight. This research designs the algorithms for calculating Landing Fee Rate and also Landing Fee, based on the aircraft weight. The Network is also applied to above. That is, CGI(Common Gate Interface) is constructed to interface the terminal of calculating Landing Fee Rate, and the terminal of collecting and transmitting the data such as the Weight. The computer language on the CGI was made by C++ and PERL. The main point of this research is to integrate the airport and Information System and to construct the database which is based on the different perspective of calculating Landing Fee Rate. However, the result of the most efficient and reliable will be computed based on above. This research will broaden the range of application up to the each case of airports.

The worldwide improvement of the safety, efficiency and rationality in the field of aircraft operation environment and certificate management of aviation personnel has been proceeded cheerfully as a part of each country's globalization movement. Considering the importance of aviation transportation industry supporting nation's international trading has the competition among the airlines regarded possibly as that among the countries. In order to make Korean Government and Airlines more competitive in this race, the standardization and generalization of aviation regulations are required. On this study, some amendments are recommended to improve regulations and systems for pilot's certification management and operation environment by comparison analysis of regulations of ICAO, FAA and Korean aviation law.
