Aim & Scope
'Hospital pharmacy' is an applied science that systemizes the pharmaceutical business and theories in the pharmaceutical department of a hospital and develops them into an academic field of study in order to provide high-quality pharmaceutical services for patients. The aim is to effectively and safely use the medicines used in the hospital to diagnose and treat patients. Journal of Korean Society of Health-System Pharmacists is published in order to provide rational pharmacotherapy by making known not only the latest contents or research findings in all fields of hospital pharmacy, but also case studies in business improvement and academic lectures. In particular, original articles, case reports and review articles and research papers on patient-centered clinical pharmacy and safe drug management are featured that contribute greatly to the qualitative improvement of pharmacotherapy practiced by pharmacists in team practice as well as to the treatment of patients. Academic lectures contribute to the efficient and safe drug treatment of patients and the improvement of expertise among hospital pharmacists by providing an understanding of the latest trends in pharmacotherapy and solving problems about various diseases. Case studies in business improvement contribute to the development of hospital pharmacy in all aspects and aim to promote business standardization suitable for the accreditation standards of medical institutions by sharing best practices about the qualitative improvement of pharmaceutical services through improvement of business processes. Unlike other journals in similar fields, Journal of Korean Society of Health-System Pharmacists has academic value in that it publishes research papers in the field of hospital pharmacy for patient-centered clinical pharmacy and safe use/management of medicines, such as drug treatment including clinical pharmacology, clinical nutrition, clinical pharmacodynamics, special medication counseling, and appropriate drug use evaluation. Moreover, readers can also acquire knowledge in pharmaceutical data processing and computing or experimental studies related to dispensary medication.
