Abstract

This study is a descriptive correlational study aimed at identifying factors influencing nursing students' perception of a good death. The study participants were 143 nursing students who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate. Data collection and analysis were conducted using SPSS 25.0. The results showed that nursing students' perception of a good death had a statistically significant positive correlation with nursing professionalism (r = .461, p <.001) and attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (r = .305, p <.001). Factors influencing nursing students' perception of a good death included age (β = .320, p = .000), academic year (β = .325, p = .001), knowledge of advance directives (β = .155, p = .040), nursing professionalism (β = .356, p = .000), and attitudes toward withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment (β = .231, p = .003). The explanatory power of these variables for the perception of a good death was 23.32%. Based on these findings, this study is expected to serve as foundational data for developing educational programs to enhance nursing students' perception of a good death.
