Spatio-temporal Analysis of Regional Demand for Night-time Economy Revitalization: A Case Study of Seoul

야간경제 활성화를 위한 지역별 수요의 시공간적 분석: 서울시 사례를 중심으로

Abstract

This study identifies regional demands for Seoul's night-time economy and proposes policy directions by analyzing business establishment concentrations and population distribution patterns. Analysis reveals distinct spatial clustering of night-time industries, with clear differences between growing and declining commercial districts. Age-specific distribution patterns were observed, with younger and older demographics concentrating in different urban areas. These findings suggest the necessity for differentiated night-time economy revitalization strategies tailored to regional characteristics and developmental trajectories.

본 연구는 서울의 야간경제에 대한 지역별 수요를 파악하고 지역 특성에 기반한 야간경제 활성화를 위한 정책 방향을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 생산활동의 기반이 되는 사업체의 밀집도와 그 시계열적 변화 추이, 생활인구 데이터를 활용한 주·야간 지역 인구 집중도의 변동 패턴을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 서울의 야간경제 관련 산업의 공간적 분포는 업종별로 뚜렷한 차이를 보이며 고유한 집적지를 형성하고 있었다. 또한 건대, 성수, 구로·가산 등은 야간에 성장하는 상권으로, 신촌, 동대문과 신당 등은 상대적으로 쇠락하는 상권으로 나타났다. 연령대별 분포 현황을 살펴보면, 20·30대는 역삼1동, 서교동, 신촌동, 화양동 등에, 40·50대는 역삼 1동, 여의동, 서초3동 등에 주로 집중되어 있었다. 이러한 결과는 지역의 특성과 발전경로에 따른 차별화된 야간경제 활성화 전략의 필요성을 시사한다.
