Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to report the case of a patient with suspected acute pancreatitis who presented with elevated serum lipase levels and acute abdominal pain. Methods: A 26-year-old male presented with acute abdominal pain, vomiting, and elevated serum lipase levels. Anjung-san was administered along with acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping therapy. The patient's symptoms were evaluated daily using the numerical rating scale, abdominal palpation, and blood tests for pancreatic enzyme levels. Results: Following treatment, the patient's symptoms, including abdominal pain, vomiting, and nausea, improved, and serum lipase levels returned to normal. No significant complications were observed during the hospital stay. Conclusion: Korean medicine treatment may effectively manage symptoms and reduce serum enzyme levels in patients with suspected acute pancreatitis.
