A review of estuary research over the past 20 years (2001-2023) and suggestions for future research

초록

본 연구는 2001년부터 2023년까지 국내 주요 학술논문집에 수록된 하구 관련 연구를 분석하여, 낙동강, 한강, 금강, 영산강, 섬진강 하구를 중심으로 연구 동향을 파악하고 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다. 기존 연구는 하구의 물리적, 화학적, 생태학적 특성 변화와 관리, 생물학적 특성과 생태 모델, 하구 생태계와 철새 서식지, 하구역 환경 관리 및 개발, 지속 가능성, 하구 생태계서비스의 경제적 가치 평가, 하구 관리의 법·제도적 측면과 통합적 접근을 다루었다. 이를 바탕으로 균형잡힌 하구 관리를 위해 법적, 사회적, 경제적, 환경적, 기술적 접근에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. 본 연구는 하구의 지속 가능한 관리와 균형 잡힌 개발을 위한 통합적 접근 방안 및 향후 연구 방향을 제시한 점에서 그 의의가 있다

The purpose of this study is to review estuary-related research conducted in South Korea over the past 20 years and is to suggest future research directions for the major rivers in South Korea. By analyzing studies published in domestic academic journals since 2001, we classified and organized research related to the estuaries of major rivers. Existing research has primarily focused on defining estuaries, assessing their physical conditions, and examining water resource conservation measures in terms of water flow, supply, and quality. Future research might need to explore legal, social, economic, and environmental approaches for integrated water management. This study highlights the importance of integrated estuary management and provides fundamental data for sustainable water management.
