탈수 중 분광광도계를 이용하여 5분 간격으로 10분 동안 CIELab(Commission International de l'Eclairage) 색상좌표를 측정하였습니다.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate any change of dehydration time and tooth area using a spectrophotometer. Material and Methods: Total number of patients was 32. Participant's age ranged from 20 to 29 years. The tooth included in the study was right sound maxillary central incisor. The Vita Easyshade Advance 4.0 spectrophotometer(VITA Zahnfabrik, Germany) was used to evaluate shade of average and tooth area(incisal: I, middle: M, cervical: C). Spectrophotometric measurements during dehydration were carried out at 5 minutes intervals for 10 minutes. Investigation of the differences of Commission International de l'Eclairage (CIELab) coordinates was conducted. RM-ANOVA was used to test the differences in L*, C, H°, a* and b* and ΔE00. Results: The L*, C, H° and b* color coordinates of the average shade(Table 1) and the L*, C, and b* color coordinates of the incisal area(Table 2) each showed statistically significant changes over time from baseline to 10 minutes later. The average tooth of ΔE00 increased over 10 minutes, but there was a significant change within 5 minutes. Conclusion: The findings of this study show that different areas of the tooth are affected by dehydration. Within 5 minutes of dehydrating the teeth, a noticeable change in tooth color occurred, which could negatively impact the shade selection process. Therefore dental shade matching procedures is recommended to be performed out before dehydrating the teeth as early as possible.
