A peptide synthesis method and a specification and test method for five types of peptides derived from various origins were established. Various experiments were conducted to verify the skin whitening effect of peptides such as confirming skin cell toxicity, tyrosinase inhibition, and melanin production inhibition. Through the whitening improvement clinical test, the skin whitening improvement effect of the pentapeptide of the amino acid sequence of KGYSS, which was selected, was confirmed. From the above results, the new sequence of pentapeptides is considered to have the effect of improving skin whitening, and has shown potential to be used as a raw material for whitening functional cosmetics in the future.
