Correlation Analysis between Spatial Centrality and Crime using Korea Safety Map

초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between spatial centrality and crime using Korea safety map service. Crime risk data in the C city was obtained from the web-map service of 'Korea Safety Map', and spatial centrality indexes through angular and metric segment analysis with road-center lines were input to GIS. The result of GIS analysis was that the index of length weighted angular local integration(r=1,000m) was more correlated with crime and neighborhood commercial building area than any other indexes with various analysis radius. This means that the more central a space is, the more crime risk could be expected. However, the correlation coefficient was not so high. At the end of this paper, the meaning of this study was discussed.
