Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the housing needs to suggest housing development directions of middle-aged single-person households. To achieve this purpose, residential space usage, needs and consciousness of Housing was investigated. The subject of this study is 20~59 years-aged single-person households who dwells inside the capital area. The results of this study are as follows; 'Single-Nomad' type enjoys single life but passive in relationships with neighbors. So for these people smart design which includes variable plan, intensive plan and storage space plan could be applicable. 'Gold-Senior' type lives a stable life and possesses economic power that multi-family housing complex around the suburb could be planed. 'Student' is a low income type who lives at a rental house that an affordable house, a modular house or a sharing house could be applied.
