A Study on the Current Status and Problems of Medical Librarian Qualification System and Medical Librarians' Self- Efficacy and Self-Esteem

국내 의학사서자격제의 현황과 문제점 및 의학사서의 자기효능감과 자아존중감에 관한 연구

This study investigated the current status and problems of medical librarian qualification system and measured medical librarians' self-efficacy and self-esteem. 49.4% of the respondents acquired medical librarian qualification and 82.9% of them are willing to re-acquire the qualification. To obtain publishing activity point was the most difficult of all evaluation items. Average self-efficacy score was 3.42, and self-esteem score was 3.89, and women's self-efficacy and self-esteem scores are higher than those of men. Medical librarian qualification system has been managed in a stable manner, yet the system has to be consolidated and developed into a national qualification system so that it can contribute to the improvements in proficiency of medical librarians.

본 연구는 의학사서자격제도의 현황과 문제점을 조사하고, 의학사서의 자기효능감 및 자아존중감을 측정하였다. 의학사서 자격증을 취득한 응답자는 49.4%였고, 이들의 82.9%가 향후 재취득 의사가 있었다. 의학사서 자격증을 취득하지 않은 응답자는 대부분 자격점수를 충족하지 못한 상태였으며, 평가 항목 중에서, 출판활동 점수를 획득하는 것이 가장 어렵다고 하였다. 응답자의 자기효능감은 3.42점, 자아존중감은 3.89점이며, 여성이 남성보다 자기효능감과 자아존중감 모두 높고, 의학사서자격증을 취득한 응답자가 미취득 응답자보다 자신감이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 의학사서자격제도는 현재까지 비교적 안정적으로 운영되어 왔으나, 앞으로 더욱 발전적으로 정비하고 국가자격제도로 발전시켜 의학사서의 전문성 제고에 실질적으로 기여해야 함을 제언하였다.
