This study based on a survey and an analysis is intended to examine the preference of the residents living in old apartment complexes and their willing to move in regarding to the mixing of senior housing types in the regeneration of old apartment complexes in order to respond to the rapid aging in South Korea. The starting point of the timeframe for this study was set as Febuary 2013 and the spatial range was set as the inner space of each residential complex within Apartment Village located in Bundang New Town. The scope of this study is arranged with the contents of the survey research on and the statistical analysis of the resident's preference and willing to move in regarding to a customized senior housing and a senior housing complex for health care & aging in place and their preference on the types of senior welfare facilities and the types of senior welfare service and their favorite locations for the senior welfare facilities within a complex. The main results from this study are as follows. First, it was surveyed that the residents within a complex have a high preference and a high willing to move in regarding to a customized senior housing and a senior housing for health care & continuous residence. Second, as a result from a survey on the levels of necessity for the introduction of senior welfare facilities within a housing complex, it was surveyed that the females other than the males, the people older than 30 years old and the people living in one- or two-person households have a high level of necessity. Third, as a result from a survey on the resident's preference on the types of senior welfare facilities, it was surveyed that their most favorate facilities are the senior welfare housing among the types of senior housing welfare facilities, the senior medical facility among the types of senior medical welfare facilities, the senior welfare center among senior leisure welfare facilities and the home care service among the types of in-home senior welfare facilities. Fourth, as a result from a survey on the resident's preference on the types of senior welfare service, it was surveyed that they preferred medical services the most followed by health care services. Fifth, as a result from a survey on the resident's favorite locations for the layout of senior welfare facilities within a housing complex, it was surveyed that their most favorite place was the center of a complex and their next favorite one was the vicinity of the main entrance of a complex. It can be said that this study is meaningful in the fact that it can provide with some useful data which is generated from this study based on a survey and an analysis in order to be referenced in the relevant study areas and at a planning stage for the regeneration of a housing complex in the future.
