Abstract
The purpose of the study is to present an appropriate approach to urban regeneration by analyzing Seoul Rental housing District. For the study, residence suitability of 31 rental housing complex was analyzed based on GIS, and the areas concerned were categorized and looked into by their residential grades based on the analysis of urban infrastructure state. The analysis of residence suitability of rental housing districts shows that areas with poor urban infrastructure were concentrated in this part of the city Seoul. The study found out that there is a need to improve urban infrastructure of the areas, which were identified residential suitability grade 5 based on urban infrastructure. Also, the study shows that there is a need to develop comprehensive plans by timing and phase in order to improve residential environment of the areas concerned while providing necessary urban infrastructure. In addition, from the perspective of on urban regeneration policy Seouls, physical conditions of the areas concerned should be focused on while from the perspective of developing plans, urban architectural elements, rather than commercial ones, should be focused.
