Abstract
This paper aims to compare the residents' daylight and ventilation satisfaction depending on the layout type and window size of the front and back sides on an apartment, and its influences on residents' atopy symptoms. Based on the results of this study, this paper is expected to provide the basic data to design effective residential environments in terms of daylight and ventilation. In summary, regardless of the direction where an apartment faces, daylight satisfaction can be higher if it has an appropriate window size and layout. In case of the satisfaction of ventilation quality, the environmental factors influence on ventilation quality. Furthermore, these factors affect not only the development of residents' atopy symptoms, but also the residents' behavioral pattern of ventilation.
