Abstract
As a demand of multi-purpose buildings in civic area, the large scale and multi functioning buildings is replaced with a single buildings. But, actually, there are so many functions and facilities in multi-purpose buildings, that many architectural considerations, especially the control of traffic lines or their connections, are made easily for keeping the user spending their time without prevention in city scale multi purpose buildings. In this study, the traffic connection system in Tokyo Midtown is investigated by using of spatial configuration graphic of circulation with function diagram and bubble diagram and is cleared that there are architectural traffic connections both in city scale complex buildings and in particular buildings related to outer open spaces. The result of this study is; Tokyo Midtown has separated approaches from front and backward open spaces; All buildings are connected with galleria and pedestrian mall; all public buildings are connected with main plaza and individual buildings connected lobby and corridor separated functionally; There are residential, service, cultural and commercial facilities are mixed, but have a exclusive transition system without sharing other cores; interface spaces play a great roles in connecting or separating complex other facilities and buildings in Tokyo Midtown.
