Abstract
In this study, to promote the recycling of construction wastes, an experimental research program was carried out. The shear behaviors of high strength recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) concrete beams was targeted. Also, this experiment investigated the shear strength and associated properties of high strength RCA concrete beams. In this study, a total of twenty eight RCA concrete beams without stirrups were tested under two-point loads. The variables studied in this investigation are the shear span-to-depth ratio (a/d = 2, 3 and 4), RCA replacement ratio (0, 15, 30 and 50%) and longitudinal steel ratio (0.80, 1.27 and 1.84%). Design concrete compressive strength of 50 MPa was used. This research can be used toward the establishment of the structural design standard for RCA concrete beams and their shear strength.
